The Adabat Beta area explored video will be released soon, this is just something I wanted to do for a long time. Addition: Turns out the audio delay can be fixed in this prototype, I just forgot to change the option for the folder I use for the prototypes
They were super evil with those werehog sections in this prototype, werehog section 2 is still hard even in the final and it was harder in this? Werehog Section 3 does interest me though because I don’t know why they changed the second to last room, another super fast change before release I guess. Also that last room having 3 titans would have been hilarious to see but the 2 titans we have in the final is still good in my eyes. Now I just imagined the hot dog missions with this layout…GOOD GOD!
Wanna know an even scarier fact? There's an unused hotdog mission type called survival (for day stage), where level 2 and 3 required you to complete a stage with no damage, now imagine that with eggmanland... (Also with the survival for the werehog giving you a tiny amount of health)
Yeah it's a rarely visited room, a lot of people probably don't even know it exists. It is pretty difficult to get to (Without that shortcut trick) and there's no real reason to even go to it (though it does have 1 media item).
@@TheStormsChannel btw, this "shortcut" might be 60fps exclusive, cause iirc I couldn't get to it that easily on my Xbox... I still somehow managed tho
@@semechko91 Yeah seems the game was designed for 60, the October prototype is capped at 60, the August one has no cap at all, and the ps3 version is capped at 60 too (but never reaches it)
Kudos to you for running through the prototype werehog sections, I'd just be lazy and fly around in dev mode just from how gruesome the stage layout looks
Since you're playing on Xenia, I'd like to note that the game might appear darker than it should in some areas. There are mods to fix this. (I would know since I'm one of the people whose made mods to fix that lmao.) It's really simple, you just have to chance a value called "Middle_gray" or something in the level's file until it has the correct lighting I think? I have no idea why Xenia causes this to be wrong by default. Eggmanland in the final game is particularly affected by this problem and is pretty dark because of that. I imagine that's the case here too?
Yeah I have the Eggmanland HDR fix installed for the final game, but not for the prototype, you can see in the footage that was taken from the final game is much brighter, 11:55 for example. Not sure if the mods would work with the prototype however, never tried it. I mean I have decompiled the build so I could just manually change the settings I guess. Also turns out I forgot to disable the yellow filter thingy in the final build, pain
@@TheStormsChannel Alright, just making sure! lol It's actually really easy to change if you want to though. It really is just fiddling with a single number from my experience. If you can open up the file for a level in notepad, just search for the middle_gray value iirc? And try turning it up, that might work, I think lol
With how much they changed the layout, I’m surprised they didn’t make Eggmanland apart of the Adventure Pack DLC. This would’ve fit right in. Also the fact that they changed it for being too hard kinda reminds me what they did with Update 3 for Sonic Frontiers..
Imagine if we did get an Eggmanland DLC with an Act 1-2, which used an updated hard layout and the werehog layouts from this prototype (updated a bit)... would be terrifying.
If it were up to me for a 1-2, I would block off the rail shortcut in the first section and make you take the lower route, much more interesting and challenging. I honestly kinda hate the rail shortcut that skips it all.
Ya know I would actually block ALL the major shortcuts just to make this an extra-long endurance test. Like removing the wall jumping sections at 5:40 and 19:15. I would also make sections like this at 14:31 require you to fight the enemies at least once in order to progress so they can’t just be ignored. And while I probably wouldn’t go as far as having THREE whole titans at once in the final area. As that feels a bit too much like enemy spam. I probably would keep the respawning wizard enemies.
They made it harder at first and babies complained about the final version being too hard. I would have love to play this version tho. So bad they didn't make it as Eggmanland act 1-2

A dlc pack wouldve been great for this levels maybe wouldvd forced sonic to go through everypathway instead of there being shortcuts in the level
Imagine trying to S rank this, let alone do the hot dog missions to 100% the game, I’d be miserable 💀
Oh wanna know something even worse, the lv 3 hot dog trail mission time in this prototype is 10 minutes, yep, 10 minutes

I could see why the Eggmanland DLC was scrapped.
Also I wonder if we can consider the Arena 1 fight room (before the triple titan) a Beta area?
Well the alcoves almost certainly are, fun fact I first found them when playing a generations port of the stage, and just flying around with free cam.

We could've gotten a hard and very hard Eggmanland had they not scrapped that feature, a shame we didn't get any eggmanland DLC.
Xenia's audio delay can be fixed by setting apu_max_queued_frames= 16

Hey I was wondering, how do you launch the prototype on xenia. I've been trying to figure how to play it for a while but no luck
You can just launch the .bin file. Alternatively you can extract the bin file and run the default.xex file

Use Xenia Canary, and set the API to Vulkan.
