When looking at these frames from Santa Cruz , I can see mold symmetry marks from the fine sanding by Chinese factory workers through the paint job . My friend has an aluminium Canadian frame Bronson . This was one of the last made there before changing supplier .

I am a heavier rider (230 lbs) and have an Epic EVO. Great bike, but due to the high shock leverage ratio, I have to run the shock at max pressure (325psi) to get 25 to 30% sag. I cannot achieve 20% sag. I believe the Blur has a lower shock leverage ratio, so I believe I could achieve 20% at a lower psi. Thank you for this great comparison!

I built my own CC FS MTB with Sram XX1 11 Speed drivetrain, Fox Stepcast fork, and a carbon wheelset. Weights 25.9 Lbs. and cost $4900.00 to build. Same bike at ALL Bike shops is at least $10,000.

The Cervelo version of this frame is competitive with the Spec in weight. The cable routing is ok but I like Pivot's larger ports with the covers that clamp. Foam goes into those big ports so easily. I've considered getting one but the colorways just don't do it for me.

    • @LoveMTB

Yeah it looks like they got the Cervelo slimmed down on purpose with this to be more the TR version

My black version CC frameset size M, with Rockshox shock and all protection but no axes and no seat clamp have weighted 2010grams . Which is more versus versus 1930 claimed but less versus your math 2150 grams for CC.. And btw we also were lucky to weight Cervelo frame (friend of mine purchase) that has claimed much lighter , I think Cervelo says even around 1800 grams but in reality it was 1950grams.
Learning: Manufactures dont claim correct weights and magazines should stop quote their claimed weights but rather put them on the scale as you do.
    Nice review that you made.

Hi, I have a large blur which I'm selling the frame soon as it's too large for me.
In your opinion what would you think of some buying a S frame when the are 5'8-9". I had shoulder reconstruction September 22 and just can't cope with too much weight on my hands.
There is a lot of talk about rad measurements and I think my rad is 80.
I would appreciate your comments as you always seem to talk since and portable.
    Cheers David
By the way I'm 64 years old but still managing to train hard.

Hi David that’s awesome! Hope to be riding at that age still. It’s so hard to suggest bike sizes not knowing your body proportions and your flexibility etc. I would think the Small will be too small though I would choose a Medium. And too much pressure on hands can be stack height too low also? Good luck finding the good fit for you.

A question: does changing the rear shock alone alter the head tube and seat tube angles? I thought those angles would only change when swapping the fork from 100 to 120. Thanks

@@LoveMTB That makes sense, just making sure it's the taller fork that would actually change the geometry. If rear shocks are both 190 eye to eye, in my mind swapping those alone would not change geometry.
