This is so interesting I love Muay Boran so much it’s definitely one of the martial arts I hope to learn some day and potentially incorporate into my own style. Thank you so much for this video!
what a beautful and efficient martial art!! I can see similarities with other eastern martial arts...and something says to me, that even there was a relationship with China, Ryukyu Kingdom, etc. Wouldn`t be suprised to know that bushi from Okinawa learned during their travels from the warriors of Muay Boran.
I just signed up on the link to subscribe. I had a KravMaga teacher teach us use of the elbow and said it was from this style. It is wicked.....Ari of Don,t be a victim.
ancient Muay Thai is more traditional in nature and as such is based more on self-defense than sport. just like boxing of early days, which movements were much different than modern boxing, so too are the differences between ancient and modern Muay Thai. one thing to note is that the ancient version is more for self-defense with included the use of sweeps, throws and ground strikes, while the sport version has been narrowed down to striking and some clinch work.
Gracias kru greatings from México
