- Perspective With Heather Du Plessis-Allan: Our gas is running out faster then we ever thought it would. Video / Newstalk ZB
I think you will find most folk had twigged to this years ago.. the problem is the Ardern and Green government didn’t care..
Labour had greater things to confront, saving your miserable lives at the top of the list, saving sustainable business's. more bars, cafes, small business's have gone to the wall under this govt's policies, more jobs lost than ever before
Jon.. oddly enough, we would be better off now had Labour done what it is good at.. nothing. No lockdown, no mandate, no printing money, no inflation, no recession and we, right now, would be decades ahead of the game.
Yep, again labour has stuffed another industry we rely on for ourselves.
bullshit. Look at the destruction national has reeked on us.Picton ferry has to be rebuilt, one of the cost willis failed to address when she cancelled the ferry contract, part of her so called blow-out, work still had to be done. More people unemployed than ever before, more business's failing than ever under Labour, our best and finest leaving our country in droves, voting with their feet
Unfortunately, the penny will only drop after SA styled load shedding starts impacting people's livelyhoods and comfort
here in golden bay there are huge concerns
Our gas is running out faster than expected. Labour's decision to stop gas exploration was so short sighted and a major threat to the stability of our economy.
How many years supplies do we have.
That's complete rubbish how old is the ban versus how long does it take to bring any decent find on tap and ready to go to market? Decades!
And how come they haven't found any new supplies? The exploration of the Otago coast found nothing. So maybe the market is saying that it is cost prohibited to explore in this part of the world.
@@IanG2120 I remember installing telco circuits in Taranaki to these rig sites back in 2000-1 and there were no real strikes what so ever to rave on about. It was very minimal to say the least and uneconomical.
.
@@johnmartin7158We have about 20 years of known prospects onshore, but no-one is drilling. So at our current rate of consumption we have about 2 years left. If we’re lucky. The industry is currently looking at importing gas into NZ to sure up supply. Hope that helps.
@@IanG2120Nope it’s not complete rubbish, it’s true we are running out of gas quicker than expected. It takes decades for offshore, but not for onshore, where there is still known reserves, but no-one is drilling, isn’t worth the risk or cost. Your other comments may be true.
yep and the Rankine Coal / Gas plants at Huntly are 20+ years old. What could possibly go wrong
crazy when you think isn't it that was year 2000
labour will never get back in 😂
Sadly, I suspect that you are incorrect in that statement.
Don’t bet on it, NZers are some of the stupidest people on the planet.
Unfortunattly they will get back in as the woke left will vote them back in. The reality is that people like myself who are in a position to do something about it will leave and leave them to there bike lanes and social engineering. Sad reflection on the country that I was born and raised in.
We need to make sure of this.
@@keithrimmer1623 Remind everybody when the time comes around. Please!!
This gov is in for 6years.
nah, one at the most
@@jonlnz52 so what is your argument for your thoughts.
good!!
Labour, the gift that keeps on giving.
Best government we ever had, just the crack pots can't see it - cognitive dissonance
For no reward to the NEW ZEALAND (not Ayatearower)citizen.
Our fresh water is running out faster!!! Maybe you should start talking about that Heather
Why would oil and gas return to a country that might kibosh new rights with a change of government?
kibosh, my thats an interesting word...
hows grandad barry goin ?
NZ had gas reserves that could have supplied all domestic heating with projected growth factored in for three hundred years. But the right wing commercial interests couldn’t stand for that.
'But the right wing commercial interests couldn’t stand for that.'
LMFAO!!!
what do you mean had? you dont actually think she means the gas reserves do you 😂 she is talking about the gas thats been produced and available to consumers... that gas pipe to your house doesnt just come straight from the ground 🤦♂
NZ needs this investment but come on we get 1% of return and some jobs. NZ needs to demand 50% ownership to NZ (and attractive tax and benefits to come to NZ) Otherwise it’s a waste of time
