    Have you ever tried stacking close-up lenses? I love the NiSi 58mm & the Raynox DCR-250 combo too😉🦋🪲🐛

      Have you compared the image quality between the setup you used in this video and say using a teleconverter with the canon 100mm macro lens?

    • @peterviragphoto
      @peterviragphoto  2 роки тому

      @@losttofollowup420 Hi there. Did you mean extension tubes? I don’t have any, so I haven’t. The reason why I prefer close-up lenses is because they are a bit more versatile ( especially when using them in the field for both stills & videos )and produce higher magnification. Cheers

      @@peterviragphoto I tried to send a reply with a link included to show the type of "Teleconverter" I was asking about, generally the type I'm talking about increase magnification by either 1.4x or by 2x. I know some people generally use them with their longer lenses when taking photos of birds as a 2x teleconverter will effectively double their lenses reach like say increasing a 300mm lens to 600mm by using the teleconverter with it

      @@losttofollowup420 no worries Dave, thanks for your response. I’ve never thought about using teleconverters either so not sure how it would affect the image quality but would be fun to test it out for sure. There are so many options and combinations to potentially experiment with:)

    Peter - holy moly these are AMAZING!!! Your stuff is mind blowing. The feet on the hover flies and flies in general,..... I love them. You also mention the diffuser getting in the way. I will deal with a few highlights if I can get in closer. But man, your shots are amazing!!!! I am also impressed with the way you let them, or get them to climb on you, ......and you can still get a picture. Beautiful stuff! 🤗💖🙏

      Hey John, thank you very much! If I’m not freaked out by them then I’ll let them creep & crawl haha😃. Yes, the diffuser can get in the way at times but when I can shield the subject from direct sunlight, that might suffice too:)

    Great video Peter! That first image of the jumping spider was amazing and really cool to see how small they really are with him in your palm. The Typical Orb weaver in the web was a stunner as well! Pretty cool to have the gum tree hopper crawl into your finger, which was a wonderful image! Great stuff as always mate!

    I'm not sure that I see too many photographers capturing insects in the manner you do mate. Somehow you seem to deliver personality - those last couple of the garden spider on your palm were just magnificent - it's almost talking to you through the image. Then the Leaf Curling Spider - so much menace in the shots

    Great images. Thanks for sharing. I use the EF100 non IS and currently have the Raynox DCR 250 which my understanding is 2.5x on this lens. How does the Nisi compare IQ wise? The Nisi is 2x on this lens. but since you have both how does IQ compare? (even though they are different magnifications). If you are double stacking the NiSi I assume you get 3x (you said 30 percent would that be 2.6x magnification? How does that compare to the DCR-250 in IQ which is 2.5x magnification? especially in the corners. What about combining one Nisi with the DCR-250? Magnification and IQ
