No short cuts. Everything done in the proper order… I love Judge Boyd. She doesn’t let the standards slip. It’s a slippery slope once you allow things to slip by without proper procedure. It makes me trust her judgement even more.
Judge Boyd, thank you for your integrity and service, this case really earmarks how clear and concise communication must be, with no exceptions. I pray this girl gets the tools she needs to manage her life, possibly without her father’s interference and iron fist. There can be so much freedom when we create boundaries.
Instead of the father adding to the stress, he should have had her in rehab before she got in trouble. His controlling her is probably one of the reasons she did drugs. He is insufferable standing in the back like he's someone
I don't understand the people who are complaining about the judge. This is a court and she in charge. The judge has a lot more knowledge and responsibility than some people are aware of. If a case is not conducted properly it leaves the door open to appeals, etc.
People complain about her???? For what? Because they hate accountability and truth talk? Losers. I'm just so used to reading through the comments and seeing all the like-minded comments (like yours) with full love for Judge Boyd, that I hadn't quite seen nor processed how you could hate her. (I'm slow like that.) I have a feeling I would hate all those people.
I remember the original case. The dad was a real piece of work. He apparently knew more than the lawyer that he hired for his daughter. Wanted everything to pass through him. He was a control freak. If I were the lawyer, I would've told him to F**k Off and then send him my final bill.🤬🤬🤬
You should watch the hearing with her father. Talk about a narcissistic bully. He was refusing to give her medical records and was repeatedly told her records were her property and refused to accept that until the judge came down on him. He did turn the records over. He's probably a good part of why she has all the issues she has. He's no help to her.
Judge Boyd is always going to make sure everything is done legally. Some lawyers (Russell) just want to do what they want to do. Sloppy work can cause many problems down the road for the defendent. Good for Judge Boyd.
Absolutely but I also feel she would be loosing a good attorney just annoyed me how stressful the father was causing her ability to represent his daughter
Jeez, I'm exhausted by all the lawyering. I mean, Judge asked a straightforward question, but, goodness, an answer was sure difficult to come by 🙄 I hope this young lady is successful in her rehab
I hope so, too. She seems really dedicated to her sobriety. When a person knows her sobriety date, that's a person who is serious and taking control of their addictions. Well done, young lady! Congratulations on your sobriety. We are all proud of you and pulling for you to continue to be successful. ❤
There are some lawyers who act like children, when they cannot control the Court and get what they want. Such as, the brat who stomped out after Judge Boyd's ruling. Incredibly immature.
No kidding. She came out of nowhere being demanding where it wasn't her case. That woman had some brass, but not more than Judge Boyd! Judge maintains control of her courtroom and I don't care who you think you are. Well done, Judge Boyd! ❤
I don’t condone the PD having an attitude with the judge, but I understand why she was frustrated. This whole issue was caused by the hired attorney, and by Judge Boyd by proxy of her being responsible for her staff and the court procedures. The hired attorney basically dropped her client without permission from the court, and when she failed to appear for her client’s next hearing, instead of someone from Judge Boyd’s staff contacting her to see wtf was going on, her staff somehow just assigned the PD office to represent the defendant. Then the hired attorney contacted the PD’s office to brief them about the case, so they thought they were now her lawyers. However, as we saw, when they showed up for court, Judge Boyd told them they weren’t her attorneys and that the hired lawyer was, which is fine, but then Judge Boyd starting telling them that it was unethical and against attorney-client confidentiality rights. IMO, that’s where the frustration came from. Having worked for family and criminal courts as a counselor performing mental health evaluations on defendants, calling it unethical for them to represent the defendant in this situation, is no different than outright accusing these attorneys of being unethical and violating the defendant’s rights. Judges speak in generalities and passive aggressively because they don’t want to give the appearance of favoring one side over the other, but the PD knew what she meant. It’s still not okay for the PD to disrespect the judge, and when the judge says something you don’t like you just accept it in the moment and file a complaint against them if you feel that judge abused their power, but in defense of the PD, all of these ethical and defendant’s rights issues should’ve been handled before they were even assigned to the case.
@@jedidaforce2595 There were mistakes made by everyone. Judge Boyd is strictly by the book, as she should be. You can’t expect the judge to ignore the law bc she’s not listening to the court or her lawyer but allowing the father to control her, which is the only reason why she lost her lawyer faced prison.
@@lauraa.e.5008Judge Boyd's staff could have contacted them to figure everything out but they didn't have to. If you are an attorney trying to drop a client because you don't want to deal with her (or her father) anymore and you file a motion to withdraw it is your responsibility to make sure the order has been signed withdrawing you from the case. On the flip side, if you're a new attorney that has been retained by a client and you know that you're waiting on the court to sign the other withdrawing the previous attorney then you should call the court to see if the court is going to grant the previous attorney's motion to withdraw also.
