Guys I watched the video again and I think my first theory was way off. I'm literally an idiot 😂 I think soyeon actually might have been dreaming this entire video and woke up before they could do any surgery, so she decided it's best to be herself. That's possibly why the doctors were shocked? The message therefore would be we're all perfect the way we are and you need to have selflove.
I could be wrong so let me know, but it's hard sometimes getting the meaning after 1 watch without research ❤️🫡
I think this is correct. The video begins with Soyeon imagining/dreaming how she would be with the surgery (doctors wowing) and throughout the video she is interchanged with the other members to show her imagining herself as someone else (in her eyes, prettier). At the end she wakes up right before the surgery is about to begin (almost as if dream-Dr. Miyeon had woken her up??) and leaves without getting anything done. She decides to be happy and content with herself and she suddenly gets notifs and her previous post is blowing up and getting lots of love. The only thing that confuses me a bit is why that post was, seemingly, a scene from her dream party (presumably her dream "perfect" body/face).
Yep! Soyeon said this mv storyline is based on the movie "I am pretty" and in that movie a girl is insecure with her looks until one day they suddenly change and she becomes confident, but the twist is her appearance never actually changed, all that changed was her confidence level.

The entire first half plays out like a movie as Soyeon falls asleep up until the second chorus, then halfway through you start seeing things come apart as the anesthesia wears off. It recaps the dance battle from the first chorus, but Minnie is replaced by Soyeon in the same outfit. There's interspersed flashes of the OR with the surgery team dancing, and Soyeon laughing in a sorta unhinged way as well, as the dream dissolves into something closer to a nightmare.
The sudden realization and fear jolt her awake before the surgery starts, and she spooks the doctors by waking up so early despite being anaesthetized, then walks out. You can see confidence in the way she holds herself and moves, then see her blow up on social media as 'validation' that she needed confidence in herself, not surgery for her appearance.
She smiles and puts the phone away, not needing the validation and not engaging with it, instead happy to move on with her life with newfound confidence in herself.
Pretty simple story, but the camp lyrics and references in the video make it really clear that she's basically dreaming herself into a early-2000's teen movie and acting as a stand-in for the protagonist 'Queencard' (Minnie). It's a very positive message; Love yourself for who you are, don't let society's standards of beauty shake your confidence in yourself.
No no she didn't get the surgery, she runs away and the meaning is You are a queen just the way you are! It's all about her allucinating because of the anesthesia, so she sees herself like other group members :) I cried for this song!
I was so infatuated by Soyeon's beauty that I missed the message 😭😂but luckily the 2nd watch I got it! Next video for Gidle ill focus more on the story

This is how I interpreted the end of the MV: Soyeon didn't get the surgery, she walked out and embraced her own self. When she got the messages/comments at the end of the video, it was a version of herself had she gotten the surgery where people loved her and wanted to be friends with her. However, she puts the phone away and walks away, indicating that if that was the only reason people wanted to be friends with her, then she didn't want it and would rather be herself.
This song is about learning to love yourself and the way you look: a very personal song, I'm sure since Soyeon in the early days had been criticised for being talented but 'too ugly' for the industry. Both Queencard and Allergy hint towards the same thing: beauty does not mean happiness
Also, I have seen clips of G-IDLE concerts...I wish you luck and hope you make it out alive cause I need more IDLE reactions 🤣

She don't have the surgery. During the surgery because the anesthesia she have a fever dream and imagine be the other girls. She wake up before the surgery and quit. Once outside the girls send her messages. The interpretation is difficult here, did she's just imagine or she's really go to the party and feel invisble when she was not? I can't decide.
