I love my model 60. I got mine used at a pawn shop a few years ago. I got a longer charging handle, Tech Sights, and turned the tube to the side. I did have to replace the buffer when I bought it. Also, I have an XT-22 bought new several years ago. I put an MCARBO trigger kit on it and a Simmons scope. Every time someone else shoots it they want to buy it off of me! Tack driver
My model 60 is still my favorite 22lr. I also have a heavy barrel stainless XT in 22 mag that's also a tack driver. I enjoy popping by to watch your videos! Im a relatively new UA-camr, and enjoy it (mostly as a hobby at this point). God bless!
I have a Marlin 60 from the mid 80's. Inherited it from my wife's late father. I mainly use it for rabbit hunting here in Colorado. Recently started giving me trouble with the hammer spring losing strength, and causing a lot of misfires. But, a $25 spring kit online from M*CARBO brought it back to life, as well as reduced the trigger pull weight. It was nice to know that someone still sells a spring kit for this legendary 22 rifle. I almost bought 2 of them, so I could fix it again in 30 years. Ha! ..... Enjoyed your video on this rifle, and will check out your others.
Love the original JM Marlins. I’m older but still think the 60 is the best .22 ever. Yes you can Mod the 10/22 limitless and I appreciate it for that if thats your thing. But for a simple classic that doesn’t need modding the 60 is without compare. I still have a walnut 995 .22 carbine I use every year for squirrel. Also have a 90’s 336 in .35 Rem.
Heheh, everyone raves on the Ruger rotary mag 10/22 but I ended up buying em both AGES ago, taught my then pre-teen son to shoot with the 60, but I ended up throwing the Ruger in the closet. There was simply NO COMPARISON. Now, I always thought I was a good shot with the 60, till a year or so later, I caught the kiddo shooting birds, then bee's and butterflies, IN THE AIR with it, off the Ranch deck. LOL. Well, He's all grown up now, has a wonderful wife, 4 kids, and can STILL outshoot me, and not just with the 60 :/ Oh, I should mention that until he decided to start his own family, he was a Legacy combat spec op's type ; In his case an Afghan/ Iraq Abn Ranger, Pathfinder (and a few others), while my 'education' occurred farther east i.e, VN...(and more than few others:) Well, I still have the 60, it still shoots like a champ, and the 10/22 still shoots like shit :( I ended up giving it to my brother years and years ago, and though he's a better 'wing' shot than I, at least with a rifle, he hates it too . I agree w you across the board. Maybe the best .22 ever made.

I've always been interested in the XT bolt guns with a tube magazine. I appreciate you stopping by!
