I saw him thirty fucking years ago when he was front man of Dire Straits playing a fistful of the best songs of all time - and he has never stopped. One of his recent songs Hill Farmer's Blues (especially the one recorded in Cordoba) is absolutely stunning.
The man is an absolute legend. I love how he spanned all sort of musical styles. From rock n' roll, to blues, to folk music. I saw him on this very tour and he killed it. His entourage of musicians was also incredible - everyone was just as talented as the man himself. Stunning. I'd love to see him live one more time. If you get the chance, check out his "Brothers in Arms" recording from the Nelson Mandela concert

And yet again the atmosphere of myth and history emitted from the song is so heavy that it almost move me to tears. That's what the greatest musician and guitarist do. He respect the peer musicians in his band. He holds the music above himself. And the music drives direct into the hearts.

It's great to see the lever of respect he has for the other musicians. THIS is the definition of a music band - everyone has a defined role and when everyone plays together what you get is a cohesive outcome. Not to mention the overall quality of the music he still manages to shell out at his age.

He surrounds himself with the best of the best musicians who help him create the music that always flows seamlessly. His great talent and creativity are an endless pleasure for this fan. May he live a very long life and continue to astound us with his brilliance. I think "Master Musician" is an understatement. He effortlessly creates magic up on that stage without a single moment of anything which appears less than relaxed.
