From this Carpathian crossing, the road descends in the form of dense serpentines into the narrow valley of the Ojtoz stream.
7 km from Bereck is the historic Ojtozi or Berecki pass (865 m), which is known by the locals as Magyarós-tetó. The causeway leading here was built in 1883 by the state architecture office.
