Whoever posted this with all of these back in the day commercials should be given a Grammy lot of memories thanks for posting👏👏
@fluffyknight Player well when it comes to African American entertainers who back in the days would not even see our face on TV or TV shows we were just Butler's or Maids with these commercials we as African Americans we are up front on these commercials and not being played as Butler's or maids now that a good reason for a Grammy😊
With all of the stuff these days watching old school stuff eases a special corner of the soul.
@@c.glazercrush3994 tell me why I like you it makes me even happier to know I grew up in the sixties and I can proudly say I'm glad I did
@@TheBluesmanBlue I'm a 80s kid but could still grasp that element of those simpler times.
delterbluesman yesssssssss yessssss📼📽❤️
I like how relaxed the commercials were...not rushed, brain zapping images and gimmicks. The commercials seemed more personable to me.
Right! Don’t take you to see it 3 or 4Xs to even get the point of it!
Airtime was more affordable
Enjoyed watching them. Back then I sure didn't mind watching commercials. Now, most of the time I put them on mute.
Does ANYONE remember when you could cut a Jackson Five "record" out of the back of the cereal box and play it on your record player??
A. It really played astounding
Omg yesssss. I wish those days would come back 1nce more.. In my Stevie wonder voice 👍🏼
Aww shucks, you're showing your age, lol...... but I do remember that lol.
I don't remember the Jackson 5 records inside cereal boxes but I recall a Booberry, Countchocula record in a cereal box. Oh, my family still has Jackson 5 Albums.
Yeah...wow..i remember that...😁
R.I.P. Sherman Hensley, Rufus Thomas, Michael Jackson, Sammy Davis Jr., and Redd Foxx
And Heathcliff Huxtable... he died when Bill got called out 🤦🏽♀️😔
@abobjenkins why not?

Glad I was a 70s kid. I experienced a lot of awesome black culture!
Oh, yes! We had self love, then...
No doubt.

Loved being s teen in the 70’s. I still miss those years.
@Snaggle Toothed -- I was 10 when roots aired and my family enjoyed every night of it. Very eye opening..
ALL THESE COMMERCIALS REMIND ME OF MY CHILDHOOD, I,M TELLING MY AGE, LOL.
Sylvester
I know..We had the best
It's all good, those were the carefree days.
Sylvester a few more thumbs up and we’ll have your age
Me too and I am 60.
Sylvester : It’s ok to tell your age. It’s actually a blessing to still be alive. There are many others who have not made it this far.
It’s funny seeing John Amos as an employee on the McDonalds commercial and remember him owning the knock of McDonalds on Coming to America “McDowells”. I had never seen these commercials(born in 76) they had all of my favorites in them. Thanks for sharing!
That Schlitz Malt Liquor took me clean out 😅😅😅🤦🏽♀️
I remembered.
Lol 😂
🤣🤣🤣 used to be my drink in my 20s
I was like wow
The damn shorts, Cape, and BOOTS🤣🤣🤣🤣
McDonald's definitely is not the same as it used to be.
Thomas Ray nope never will be, that's when it was real ingredients.
Bring back the fried apple pies and McDLT!!✌🏾
Today Mc. Donalds feeds the masses chemicals and fake foods - GMO
They never danced like that when you went in

He wasn't talkin' about cigars...
Y'all remember the Jackson 5's cartoon?

YESSSS that means Im how old!?😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don’t care what they said about Grape Nut cereal .. they were hard enough to break all your teeth.. immediately 😂. That natural flavor was carboard😂 Some commercials I remember some I don’t.
I heard it was hard to wash off your bowls like throw the whole bowl away hard lol..
I never understood why they made it seem like it was sooooo🙄 "nutritiously delicious"😂
Yeah I remember it would stick to your if you let it dry 😄
They WERE AWFUL back then and NOW
Eating grape nut cereal was like eating really tasty gravel
Damn James worked for McDonald’s then owned McDowell’s..
and in between he was a cop.

That malt liquor commercial was head shaking worthy
Exactly. Dude sold out
sosouth15 indeed
You fail to realize back in the 70s whites drank malt liquor too. Watch the old schlitz commercials until the 80s thats when malt shifted towards blks.with Billie Dee Williams with colt 45 commercials in the 70s malt liquor ads was posted all over blk neighborhoods until the 80s.so technically Rufus Thomas didnt sell out..
Dude was dressed and acting just like a KKKoon. This was when Michael Jackson was still a Black man and not the sellout that he became.
@@pwhales264 youre stupid thats ex memphis D.J. n singerRufus Thomas he always dressed like that when hes performing.look up watts staxx concert in he had that outfit on.that was early 70's where malt liquor didnt hit blk neighborhoods until the 80"s that schlitz malt liquor was what whites used to drink in the 70s.few blks.ppl always speaking n saying shit they dont know what they're talkin about.some blk folk just found the internet now theyre suddenly conscious😂😂😂😂 rufus Thomas was a singer who sang the break down which rapper eazy e sampled for eazy does it..he had dance songs.the break down.the funky chicken.the funky penguin.the push n pull..walkin the dog.look rufus Thomas up

That is EXACTLY how The Jackson Five looked; when I spent an Afternoon meeting with them together, along with My Mother; and their Dad Papa Joe Jackson in the room. Times of INNOCENCE.😍💥👊😎❤👑
Love these vintage commercials. It reminds of my childhood when it was more fun being a kid. It was fun viewing a young Angela Bassett in the Bounce commercial, Bill Cosby was a staple in commercial back in the day. White owl, or black sausage
It would be great if in a secret shared universe that McDonald's commercial was tied to Mcdowell's in Coming to America.
Oh snap! I scrolled down to the comments when the Cosby/White Owls commercial came on and found your comment. When I unpaused and saw thhat McDonald's commercial...I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF AND CAME BACK HERE!
McDonald's tasted better then!!!
Bring back the fried apple pie and McDLT.✌🏾
It had to be
I've never seen McDonald's employees that happy. The commercial is buffoonish as hell.
The Ny-Quil spot stars the late Sherman Hemsley ("The Jeffersons", "Amen") and Hattie Winston ("The Electric Company", "Becker"). Lloyd Nolan ("Julia") is the announcer.
It was great to be a child/teen in the 70s! Life was so much simpler . People had to socialize and you got a person's undivided attention. Now...everyone stares at their phone all day.
Yet you most likey used a cellular device to type that🤦🏽♀️

Back then McDonald's actually tasted good and grown folks could earn a decent living working there.
McDonald's has always been a getting by type of job no matter what decade it was.
When did McDonald's not pay well. I'm confused by that one
INFINITY that may have easily been the cleanest McDonald's restaurant I ever saw in my life, I can't believe white folks actually used to work in fast food restaurants
Patrick William The fast food restaurants in New York City now pay $15 an hour
@Patrick William That's nice, but you need to go to school on your time off to get an education. They are designing robots to do your job.
When people ate Grape Nuts for the first time they went straight to the Dentist for new teeth after realizing the cereal was made up of rocks, pebbles, and sand.
They should combine the crest commercial with the grapenuts. Brush with Crest so that you can enjoy crunching on Grape nuts.
Tweety Tweet 😄lol!
@morenazo952 use Crest before you eat it will harden your enamel lol
I haven't had it for awhile, but a hot bowl of Grape Nuts with honey is amazing.
I remember visiting my grandmother when my mom and dad would drop us off at the house. She had it in her refrigerator. I grew up being taught not to waste food. You were "not allowed to leave the table until you cleared your plate." So she served me a bowl and I think I had a couple of bites. I think I set at the table and feel asleep while my siblings were playing out side. She finally threw it away. It was horrible. The secret is now that I am an adult, let it soak in the milk and add a little sugar. Still taste like dirt and rocks!!! 🤢🤮
That bounce commercial was a mini movie lol damn!
And also you see they saved the best commercial for last👍🏿
Who remembers the old Soul Train commercial where Frederick Douglas was selling Afro-Sheen?

I'll never turn my back on Mr. Tooth Decay, Mr. Bill Cosby! These ad brought back many a memories, Thanks!
Bill Cosby went from white owls to crest then pudding pops wow who knew😂😂
If this generation only knew who Bill Coby is and was. I wish Black people had stood behind him like they did George Floyd. Cosby did so much for black people and we let him down. No disrespect to George Floyd losing his life, but they tried to do the same to Cosby.
I remember many of these commercials! It is amazing we ignored many of these show interruptions but now they are classics. I also love how clearly they talk back then.
I want to go back to this time..

Yep shot at Wendy's Elmhurst Queens I was a extra and manager in training
He was the owner not manager.

If you can check out the print ads directed to the Black market during that time. A excellent reference is the annual CEBA Awards (Communications Excellence to Black Audiences). An awards ceremony was given every year at the Hilton Hotel in NYC, where awards were given to Madison Avenue agencies who depicted Black in a positive light in their commercials, radio spots, and print advertising.
