I went there a few times in the 70's with family and friends and really enjoyed it there. Such a shame that it has come to this, but its a sign of the times...all good things come to an end eventually!!!
Sad to see this go and the Wales one yes towards the end they were run down but surely if someone like Butlins , Haven or Lyons bought these sites ,maybe even put caravans on them instead of the chalet apartments and invested in these sites they could once again be great family holiday memories here , I have pontins to thank for meeting my wife and having a family never looked back , it's such a shame it's gone.
If not it should be. It would make an ideal secure unit to house them whilst going through the processing procedure. The money they get in handouts would be spent in the on site shop and that way they are, in effect paying the money straight back into the government pot.
not sure whats gonna become of it. I did hear the owners have a lease on the land for 100 odd years. I think its the same company that own the Adelphi hotel in Liverpool and you know how they have let that become :(
@neilhilton35 no what caused its demise was flooding as stated also you can't deny it was a shit hole and needed doing up all of it. Brits going abroad isn't the reason and bits go abroad for better weather for a start
When my family went it was disgusting place. Curtain rings missing Black plastic settee part broken the top of oven filthy the rings Rusty kettle lead had been melted the grill pan stuck with food. We complained then a worker came with a drill to use wire brush on cooker electric rings omg Terrable Place we went home on that day no compensation letter after letter sent they didn't want to No. I will never go to a pontius ever again sorry.

Wow - worked here over 20 years ago, lots changed since then but still a lot I remember - the big house(?) nearby used to be a pub.

No wonder Brits go abroad looks like stalag 17
It's a holiday camp. Ironically Brits going abroad is what has caused it's demise.
@@neilhilton35 why because our weather sucks simple they want a suntan not frost bite
@@neilhilton35tax in the UK is very high
