- I haven't found a lot of videos on the Nashville Packs Cutaway, so I thought I'd share my unboxing, assembling the pack (pad attachment, shoulder and chest straps and waist strap) and show you how I've set up and will be using the pack. Unlike most people, I've mixed and matched components to get the setup I think will work best for me. Including adding a LiteAF padded waist strap and Zpacks multi-pack to the front.
I was keen to try running vest style shoulder straps, bottom pocket and a pad attachment system, but there are a range of other features that also appeal to me. As always, I'm trying to keep the pack weight as light as possible for ultralight hiking and backpacking, but having the water bottle pockets on the front will also help with bursitis (which has flared up at the moment). I'll be using the pack for an upcoming thru hike (Bibbulmun Track in Western Australia).
nashvillepack....
Glad to see the pack arrived and you got everything you needed. Best of luck on the Bibbulmun track!
Thanks! Yes all went well. Pack was perfect for the Bibbulmun Track, really enjoyed it. I completed my end-to-end (thru-hike) at the start of June, and then went on to do the Cape to Cape track and a few other things in WA before heading home
I absolutely love my Cutaway! It’s the most comfortable pack I’ve ever owned. I got the Ultra fabric on mine. I love that if a strap is digging in too much, you can just loosen one of the straps and dial it in for a perfect custom fit. Good luck on your trek!
Thanks! Really enjoying the pack too. I'm about 2/3 of the way through a Bibbulmun Track thru-hike. The Cutaway is really working well for me.
Nice cutaway pack! Great review. New follower here. Crow✌️
Thanks! Have enjoyed using the pack for the last few months (Bibbulmun track thru hike and now Cape to Cape track).
I use Ribz! I love them!

How did the light AF hip belt end up working out?
It worked well, I was glad to have it. I used the small size as the large was too big for me (too loose) and the slots didn't line up anyway for the multi-pack.
Hey mate, for my own sizing questions, how tall are you? You've got the 19" straps and 20" torso length there right?
That's right. I'm about 184cm tall and range from 80-85 kg from memory (I usually work on a chest size of 95-100cm for clothing).
How much did this pack cost?
I think it was about $500 AUD.
