In fairness the stock grind on ah1g has been hell for me. Either i get yeeted by a gepard or pilot sniped by a Russian 14.5. Meanwhile i put a 20mm shell into a planes cockpit and nothing.
I love scouting vehicles. I arguably think it's more satisfying seeing "Destroyed by intelligence" pop up. It's like the rush of getting a kill, except you don't know when it will happen. Feelsgoodman.
I like how in the video Odd is crushing it with the Cobra but whenever I take the Cobra out I always get inappropriately touched by every motorized vehicle on the map and end up getting no kills.
It boggles my mind that helos in general and the AH-1G in particular have been in this long yet still don't have a realistic model for when tail control is lost and the AH-1G still doesn't have its actual historical loadout of a minigun/40mm launcher wombo combo in the nose turret.
I refuse to believe that these aren’t paid actors, I never get to fight players this incompetent in my AH-1. Even my best games require me to fly like a maniac to avoid the Iron Dome level of ground fire.

It's pretty standard when I am playing with my friends that if I get a few kills I will say to them on voice chat "stay away from my vehicle, there is probably a bomb incoming" and more often than not it is true lol. Thanks for the entertainments Odd, in my personal opinion you should only ever do videos that you enjoy making on a schedule that fits with the rest of your life. Have seen quite a few entertaining youtubers seriously burn themselves out and would hate to see that happen to you. EDIT: It is always highly entertaining to me when someone is doing well and takes out a bunch of my team mates, but you take them out once and you can almost hear the screaming as their plane rams into your vehicle a second before the bomb gets there.

The 28 rocket pods are the way to go you have a lot more lift and speed and if you devote your self to taking out enemy heli it’s a lot more affective if you ditch the grenade launcher for the 7mm mini gun
the top tier british helo with the starstreaks obliterate every A2A platform in the game. KA-50's vikers get set off by their prox fuse so if you beam a missile straight through theirs you can pop it harmlessly and kill them. direct hits only but it's insanely fast and you can kill pretty much all armor in the game if you're hitting the right spots. These helo's have to be played cat and mouse peeking over hills only to shoot and the ducking just low enough for the sensor to be the only exposed part. flying out in the open can get a few kills like you showed but thinking like a hyper mobile R3, hiding and ambushing people from 5-7km away, is where these birds shine
One thing I've always hated about the AH-1G was it's undying need to lean right CONSTANTLY. The damn thing cannot fly in a straight line (you can see your "momentum arrow" at your central reticle point (the one that doesn't move)), and the grenade launcher is really hard to get used to. Its really only effective on extremely light vehicles. The UH-1B flies so much more smooth and consistent, but I guess that was just true to the design of the AH-1G Listening to Odd reminds me of my grandparents in Aberdeen :) great vid lad, keep up the good work

As some one who is trying to research Russian 8.3 I had enough of the leopards, light tank, Italian tanks and most of all G91 spammers, and I have to say this video brought a smile to my heart, its nice to see the Axis get a taste of there on midseason for once. Also man grate video keep this up.
I love to bring a gepard out as a first spawn. It's very cheap, and shooting down helis is easy, plus anything light gets shrekked and with some brain you can kill MBTs. It's very easy to get enough SP for a G91.
When I saw 0:00 to 0:40 I thought to myself. "That exact same situation happened in almost every 7.7br game today". No one takes out AA early for helis anymore or at least I have seen.

Whenever I play that BR now as Germany, I always bring out the Bagelpanzer as my first spawn to make sure I don't get ganked by helis. The proxy-fuse round does wonders against the AH-1's

Thankfully I have a very good friend who loves his Gepard, so I have a personal AA following me around dealing with all the turds flying AH-1Gs. My Strv 104 is also quite good at dealing with the buggers.
Highly recommend you turn on manual roll control (needs to be bound) so it doesnt try to violently roll back to center when you let go of the button. Also use q and e to rotate yourself when gaijin's crappy instructor says otherwise.
Either they changed the damage model of Helicopters or you've got some funky connection because never in all of my AH-1G flyouts have I survived that long.

I find it quite amusing how durable Cobra is in this game. Well, how every helicopter in the game is so durable. Also that stability when your tail gets shot off - that's possible only with Kamov helicopters :P
Just imagine what would happen if Ka-50 and Ka-52 actually worked as they were intended to - they are built so they can fly good even with their tail shot off, but WT considers them shot down and you only have those 15 seconds or so
Honestly, it makes me a bit sad. I picked up the game when I realized there were helicopters to fly. Playing Team Apache as a child left an impression on me. I worked hard up the US tree and after months and months finally had my AH-1G. I had no idea what kind of disappointment I was in for. I think half my deaths were friendly fire followed by the team telling me how much of a bad person I was. Thankfully I've found enjoyment in tank gameplay.
i think it would be a cool concept to have some Helicopters carry infantry that can be dropped off at a point to capture it either by rope or by landing, that would be an excuse to add the Chinook and other big Helis, i have no idea if this is a good idea because the best take i have is the Teegor H1
It'll probably be implemented in the future in their other game "enlisted", when that gets the same treatment as WT I honestly think that the latest updates (like "New Power") weren't really for WT, but to live trial the Dragor engine for future "Enlisted" versions.
I was playing stock german alouette with ATGM´s and i was having fun. U need to be close because 3 km range and you can´t withstand much damage, because you´re just glass ball with fuel tank and engine (leaking fuel super fast). If you stay low, hide behind some cover and not doing suicide rush to enemy spawn, you can get 1-3 kills. And you are against 50 cals

You got to get a map where you can shoot off all the rockets at the map while in heli spawn 2, then resupply. Most fun I've had in that heli.

It flew back to base.
I hit one with a kv-2 HE and lived and ended up spawnkilling us

Gotta love how in a *tank* game you can easily consistently score more kills per match with aircraft and never even use a tank at all.

I think half my deaths were friendly fire followed by the team telling me how much of a bad person I was. Thankfully I've found enjoyment in tank gameplay.

i think it would be a cool concept to have some Helicopters carry infantry that can be dropped off at a point to capture it either by rope or by landing, that would be an excuse to add the Chinook and other big Helis, i have no idea if this is a good idea because the best take i have is the Teegor H1
It'll probably be implemented in the future in their other game "enlisted", when that gets the same treatment as WT
I honestly think that the latest updates (like "New Power") weren't really for WT, but to live trial the Dragor engine for future "Enlisted" versions.

I was playing stock german alouette with ATGM´s and i was having fun. U need to be close because 3 km range and you can´t withstand much damage, because you´re just glass ball with fuel tank and engine (leaking fuel super fast). If you stay low, hide behind some cover and not doing suicide rush to enemy spawn, you can get 1-3 kills. And you are against 50 cals
Enemy tanks: Nooooooo! U can't just yeet my tank with missiles and grenades!
