I think if those two were enemies, although Kokichi is the better manipulator by a slight margin, he would know he stands no chance against Nagito's luck. So instead he would try to get Nagito on his side, doing what he does best: manipulating people. But then again, would Nagito's luck protect him from whatever devious scheme Kokichi has planned for him even if Kokichi makes an ''ally'' out of him? Fuck, my brain is starting to hurt.
I feel sorry for nagito sometimes. I know that his whole personality is that he's a loner and is obsessed with hope but can they throw the poor boy a bone once in a while. Every scene he's in is depressing as hell

A lot of you just misinterpreted the last scene with Nagito and Hajime. In the Japanese version HAJIME is the one asking for Nagito's hand and Nagito asks why and Hajime says for a handshake. He said that he wanted to understand him and stay with him even after school ends. It wasn't any type of friendzone in the original version, it was the start of a new bond, platonic or romantic, it was open to everything. Hajime was willing to do something so noble, it really melts my heart. In every universe their bond is something that impresses me the most. I think that's why I love them as a ship so much, their connection is really meant to be and I love it.

Nagito's the ultimate mood killer... But it's something like what he said to Himiko, that he believed in her magic or some sort that I liked. It does fit into his character that he believes in/admires other people's talents while deprecating his own. He thinks very differently to everyone which makes the story much more dynamic and interesting. My favourite character still after watching v3.
I also love the Nagito/Celeste/Makoto one as it implies that one official art of them playing against the headmaster, Jin Kirigiri, who ended up regretting his choice there 100% (probably xD)
yeah..... Kiyo and Nagito can blast the philosophy thoughts on humanity........ While Taka and Hajime can understand on ground level of hardwork (so why isnt hajime get a talent of Ultimate hardworker?). Kaito on the other hand, debates but actually makes everyone do pushups while he slacks

Hinata's a good guy. He admits he doesn't fully understand Komaeda, but he's trying to and wants to understand him better. The guy's a loon, to be sure, but he is still a person who wants to be accepted just as most people do. At least in DR2, Hinata seemed to be the only one to pick up on how he was a very lonely person.
16:22 (so you can watch the entire thing) Late to the fandom, anyways I think the fact that this moment is even slightly canon makes my whole love for the danganronpa franchise grow like even stronger It’s so heartwarming to see that Hajime finally understood something about Nagito that he couldn’t directly tell him. To me, this moment was way better than the whole “I love the hope that sleeps inside of you.” Ordeal, even if that was just bad translation, this feels more sincere and truly the ending I’m fulfilled with of their really bumpy road of friendship. You can see so clearly that all Nagito wants is to be friends with him, but can’t say so because of his self deprecating complex and how he probably doesn’t want to ask him if there was bad luck to come after. And even if Hajime doesn’t understand all of that, he still tries his best and that is such a good character trait. This whole situation made me on the bridge of tears, like yes, I’ve seen komahina fan art and fan games but nothing compares to the real canon thing, even if the ship won’t sail, they still have a weirdly strong bond. I love these fictional characters a lot, but if you continued reading this whole thing you probably do too.
Same here. It's interesting to see them interact in a peaceful scenario, where Nagito starts off disliking Hajime due to his lack of talent, but grows to see him as a friend as opposed to the canon game in which he admires Hajime thinking he's an Ultimate, but then hates him after finding out his past as a reserve course + remnant of Despair.
Honestly, we can see from this game mode that even someone as dangerous as Komaeda can lead a normal high school life. All the while, he still has his flaws of being sassy and blunt, struggles with his sicknesses, and so on. I am not trying to justify Nagito’s actions in the Killing Game within Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, not at all, but the point I’m trying to make here is that like in Danganronpa 2’s Island Mode, Komaeda doesn’t do dangerous things unless he feels like he is forced to; such as in a Killing Game. He’s Chaotic Neutral in that he will do anything for the sake of hope, but as shown in the game, he doesn’t lack sympathy for those who had died; he expressed dismay over Twogami’s death and also Teruteru’s death. While not the best person out there, Komaeda isn’t the worst either; his morality is grey.
His morality and way of thinking about hope come from his past experience. Also he have frontotemporal lobe dementia and the symptomp suit his behaviour; which symptoms may include changes in social and personal behavior, loss of insight into the behaviors of oneself and others, inappropriate social behavior, poor impulse control and judgement, apathy, loss of empathy, mental rigidity, repetitive compulsive behavior, a decline in self-care and personal hygiene, changes in food preferences, delusions, euphoria and lack of awareness of any thinking or behavior changes.

In the Japanese manga (which is official, btw), Nagito tries, twice, to tell Hajime that he loves him but chickens out both times because Nagito doesn't want Hajime to hate him and doesn't want him to be sad when Nagito dies (in his free time events, Nagito mentions that he is diagnosed with something which means he would die in under a year and a half). In his free time events in DR2, Nagito almost tells Hajime that he is in love with him but instead ends up saying something along the lines of: "Hajime, please always remember that Iove y-your hope within you." Finally, in Danganronpa Salmon Team, you can ask Nagito if he'll get undressed (to go swimming). Nagito replies with something like: "I don't really want to go swimming so I have no reason to get undressed. However, if you just wanna see me naked, that's okay too~" This is then followed up by Hajime thinking: "I think BOTH of us had a really good time." Yeah, Komahina is canon.
FreezeStorm he mentions in his last Free Time Event with Hajime that he was diagnosed with Lymphoma, which is basically saying (at least how I interpret it) he either has some type of tumors or (most likely to be this) actually has some form of cancer, as well as Frontotemporal Dementia when he was attending Spiral High School. Having a demented mind is bad enough, but for someone who may have cancer on top of that is just plain awful to live with; the only reason he was still alive was because of his luck, but really. One of my grandmothers has dementia herself and is currently living with my family in my older sister's room, so I know firsthand how terrible it must be to have dementia.
tbh there is also a probability that he was misdiagnosed which could work, as it'd be bad luck (the mere stress is enough to trigger the nocebo effect, if I'm understanding it correctly) followed by good luck (not having to die, ya know the drill), while being accepted into HPA would be good luck followed by bad luck (becoming a Remnant).
But wouldn't his ultimate luck help him, like if he accidently leaves a pizza for too long in the oven then a power outage would happen, saving the pizza from being burnt? I swear, Nagito is the only character who can have literal plot armor as his talent and have people praise him for it. And i fucking love it.

At a Christmas event with Hajime, in the Japanese version, Hajime asks Nagito to shake hands and asks him to be friends. This is the opposite of when Nagito asked him if he would be friends in Island Mode. It is questionable why they reversed this situation in the English version here, but it feels the same that Nagito needed a friend and Hajime wanted to understand Nagito.
Can we just talk about the fact almost all combinations of characters in Ultimate Talent Development Plan only got 1 or 0 cut scenes but the staff wrote a whole freaking character arc between Nagito and Hajime? There's just something so sweet about that. It feels like they end up as really close regardless of the verse.

In the Japanese manga (which is official, btw), Nagito tries, twice, to tell Hajime that he loves him but chickens out both times because Nagito doesn't want Hajime to hate him and doesn't want him to be sad when Nagito dies (in his free time events, Nagito mentions that he is diagnosed with something which means he would die in under a year and a half). In his free time events in DR2, Nagito almost tells Hajime that he is in love with him but instead ends up saying something along the lines of: "Hajime, please always remember that Iove y-your hope within you." Finally, in Danganronpa Salmon Team, you can ask Nagito if he'll get undressed (to go swimming). Nagito replies with something like: "I don't really want to go swimming so I have no reason to get undressed. However, if you just wanna see me naked, that's okay too~" This is then followed up by Hajime thinking: "I think BOTH of us had a really good time." Yeah, Komahina is canon.

FreezeStorm he mentions in his last Free Time Event with Hajime that he was diagnosed with Lymphoma, which is basically saying (at least how I interpret it) he either has some type of tumors or (most likely to be this) actually has some form of cancer, as well as Frontotemporal Dementia when he was attending Spiral High School.
Having a demented mind is bad enough, but for someone who may have cancer on top of that is just plain awful to live with; the only reason he was still alive was because of his luck, but really. One of my grandmothers has dementia herself and is currently living with my family in my older sister's room, so I know firsthand how terrible it must be to have dementia.

tbh there is also a probability that he was misdiagnosed which could work, as it'd be bad luck (the mere stress is enough to trigger the nocebo effect, if I'm understanding it correctly) followed by good luck (not having to die, ya know the drill), while being accepted into HPA would be good luck followed by bad luck (becoming a Remnant).

This is the opposite of when Nagito asked him if he would be friends in Island Mode. It is questionable why they reversed this situation in the English version here, but it feels the same that Nagito needed a friend and Hajime wanted to understand Nagito.

Can we just talk about the fact almost all combinations of characters in Ultimate Talent Development Plan only got 1 or 0 cut scenes but the staff wrote a whole freaking character arc between Nagito and Hajime? There's just something so sweet about that. It feels like they end up as really close regardless of the verse.
