Just Yarn is basically the same as Premier Basix. I did some washing testing on it and it performed great. But, on a per yard basis, Basix is cheaper! DT is great when you need small amounts.
i've crocheted dishcloths with the cotton yarn for family. Cotton yarn a bit thinner than peaches n cream. No feedback as to how they hold up. Now 1 skein for $1.25. the jury is still out here.
Dollar Tree yarn is actually my favorite. No shame here, I craft on a budget so I buy their yarn and use the savings to get my other crafty needles like needles or stitch markers. Dollar Tree knitting needles aren't horrible either, I can't attest to their crochet hooks though. The red glasses are fabulous by the way!
Hello! I love your red glasses and your tip for working with plush yarn is excellent. I tend to stay away from yarns that don't have good stitch definition. Too much work. By adding another strand of smooth yarn...game changer! Thanks 👍 😊
Yes ma'am!!! I discovered their yarn when I first started watching you and learning to crochet. I've been able to make some reaaaallly cute pieces for family with their stuff!
Love the Just Chenille! I made an amigurumi koala from it and it was a big hit. Especially with my puppy, who tried to steal it out of the gift basket for my niece. 😆 Thanks for the idea of pairing the plush yarn with a worsted weight. I passed on it originally, but I'll have to rethink it. I also love Dollar Tree's Princess Yarn. It's between a sock weight and a lace weight. Super soft with lovely drape. I've used it for scarves, baby items, and a hat (in progress). Machine washed and dried with no problems. Have a great day!
Dollar Tree yarn is really nice, I've made hats and blankets with this yarn. It holds up really nice even after washing. Love the red glasses gives you a unique look and very professional.
I use this all the time. I made a red sweater with it and it turned out beautiful. I am using the chenille to make bunny’s for Easter gifts for toddlers in the family. It’s a beautiful yard. Really feels wonderful.
Thanks for the review. I'm currently crocheting a baby blanket with Bernat Baby Velvet yarn and you definitely have to use a smaller hook than recommended and sc or hdc stitch to avoid "worming" after washing. This is my second baby blanket in velvet yarn for my granddaughter. The first one looks horrible after washing....loops everywhere.🙈 By the way, you look great in the red glasses.... love them. 🤗
You have the hip look with your glasses. You are cute with them. Awesome review. My Dollar Tree is charging 1.25 for everything now. I am going there with 30 dollars and spending it on the Just Yarn and Chenille. Whoopeeeee!!!! Thanks
I totally LOVE u in those glasses! (But you can pull off any look you wanted.) I think they are kinda nerdy chic and am in love with the bold color! I wear bold frames and love to change them up as often as possible. It’s fun to step outta ur comfort zone. Love the dollar store idea, I’ll ck the one nearby. I like to try complicated patterns using inexpensive yarns before making the project with more expensive, or more complicated yarns, especially garments. ☮️
I only started crocheting relatively recently and I learned with the "Just" collection! It's been great so far and I find it really easy to work with and great quality for the price. They also have a surprisingly great and varied color selection. Would definitely recommend! Also, love the glasses!
Those who don’t like it have the freedom to buy other yarns for more! More power to the brand and status dependent! I find absolutely nothing wrong with this yarn it’s actually the opposite. Happy knitting and crocheting everyone!
Last year I was in Dollar tree and saw this brand and they had some purple yarn. My cousin wanted a purple wrap shawl and I got every last one they had in their store. Long story short, she loved the shawl and posted it on Facebook. smh. I love your channel!!!
Thank you for your review. I really appreciate the fact that you get right into the subject & don't talk about a lot of other things. A word of caution. With Dollar Tree going up in price this year, it would be wise to see what the cost per yard is & compare to other brands. My husband used to get liter bottles of cola there (they actually held more than 2 liters). Even with the price increase, it was still the best deal in town. Then we realized the bottles had less in them (only 2 liters) making the cost more than Aldi or Walmart. It's a marketing plot many manufacturers are taking advantage of.
I just love how you get right into your videos w/no beating around the bush. Thx for the reviews. Btw, those glasses are you to perfection. You’re killing them. I was wondering where you were n then a week later, there you were w/a vid n now this.
This is my first time watching one of your videos. I too am thrilled that Dollar Tree has the Premier yarns. I've been purchasing the larger skeins of these yarns from the Premier website for a few years. They really are very good quality yarns and perfect for so many types of projects including amigurumi which I've made 100s of. Purchasing the larger skeins is a better deal, but when I only want a small amount of a color, or just don't have a large enough order to purchase enough big skeins to justify the shipping fee or get free shipping, this is a great alternative. As mentioned, I've never seen one of your videos before, but one of the things that attracted me to it was your style. I don't know which glasses you had before, but these red glasses really are cool and made me think you were a fun person to watch.
I've made baby blankets from a combination of Bernat Baby Blanket and Just Yarn Chenille, and found that the Just Yarn Chenille was a bit thinner -- enough so that I had to downsize the hook from a 10mm/N to an 8mm/L when crocheting, to keep a dense enough fabric to be safe around small children. After that one time attempting to use the Bernat Baby Blanket scraps together with the Just Yarn Chenille, I decided not to combine those yarns in a project again, even though they're both labelled as a "6" (Superbulky).
Love the red glasses on you..color and style! DT yarns are very nice and work up well for the projects I use them for. I can make 3 sets of fingerless gloves from 2 skeins. My $2.50 investment makes me $60. I can't beat that!!
Thank you so much for this review. I will be checking my local dollar store for this yarn this weekend. I have a project to do for an auction basket and this would be perfect.
Hi, I just bought a few skeins of the cotton, thsts all they had at my Dollar Tree, and it crochets well. I’m going to go back for more, and also hit other stores to see if they have other types as well. I’m in a very strict budget so this helps me beef up my yarn supply!! I like to make gift sets of dish towels ( I buy them at Dollar Tree n 99 cent store) and make pot holders, dish cloths, and scribbies to match. Ppl love these sets! My next project is to try a twirl topper. And make that a set. On plain towels I apply a cotton applicate and a smaller version in the pot holders. These sets take little time to make and are fun and creative!
Hey Alysha! Love the eyewear, I’m a retro chick so my eyewear is always cat eye glasses, lol. Great review of the yarn, but I’m shopping my stash this year.
Love the Just Cotton, it is 85% cotton and 15% polyester. At my Dollar Tree the yarn is $1.25, but still a great deal. I am making washcloths to give with soap and hand cream for Christmas with this yarn. My Dollar Tree does not have such a big selection as the picture you showed in your review so need to go find another Dollar Tree to try out more of the yarn. Thanks for the review. Love your videos.
Thank you fir tge review!! I'eve gotten the chenille yarn and I LOVE it!! It's SO soft and cozy, making a run this weekend to get more of each of them as possible lol!!❤️
I made beautiful baby blanket with Turquoise Just Yarn. The only thing is the skeins are so small I had to buy 20 of them! Thank you for review. Dollar tree crochet accessories the best to use for crochet or knitting beginners.
Even if what’s considered “wealthy”dollar stores have great products much cheaper. I save money there for other things that you can’t necessarily get at bargain prices and may otherwise not be able to afford. I don’t own a money tree myself and see nothing wrong with saving money wherever I can.
Love the red glasses, you look so young with your hair like that! Thanks for the review, definitely need some "yarn therapy", now I know where to go for a few skeins of cotton yarn!
Love the glasses! I ran into a dollar tree and they had a $5 bag for $1.25 I grabbed it and some others and made a scoody* with pockets and love it! And made for $1.25 YES!!
The yarn itself is pretty good, especially if you are working on a small project, but be sure to get enough yarn while you’re there, because it disappears fast! Another thing, their yarn color choices tend to be seasonal, you will find pastels around Easter, vivid reds and greens around Christmas, and in the fall, you’ll get the deep browns, rust, and lighter greens. Black and white yarn comes and goes throughout the year, along with dark and medium blue. Also, it depends how good your local Dollar Tree is. Some carry a lot of yarn, others barely have any at all. You’ll have better luck at a bigger Dollar Tree.
Love the glasses!! I have used the Dollar Tree yarn for a few projects. I like the ones made by Premier but found the "off" brand to be more splitty. Thanks for the review. Just wish my local stores carried more of it
I just made my granddaughter a Wednesday inspired sweater with this yarn and used the white cotton for the lacy cuffs and collar!! She loves the sweater and it didn't cost me a fortune to make it
Thank you so much for this yarn review. While shopping at DT, I have checked out their yarn, but haven’t purchased. I will now. PS your glasses are adorable. Why not be fun and fashionable?!? ❤️
Yes on the eye fashion. I'm not big on fashion, but growing older I use those Dollar store cheater glasses for close things. Since they're cheap, I see no reason my glasses shouldn't match today's tshirt.
The tweed is showing up just fine - once you held it still for a second! lol ... I don't even like gray, but I do like tweed, and I actually like that color. I must be over the trauma connected with Geoffrey Beane Grey Flannel and everything connected to that, too. I actually don't mind it period. No heart palpitations, no stopping of the breath,no darting eyes, no anxiety. I'm good! LOL GLORY BE TO GOD! I'M GOOD! I spent 40 years locked in a hell about the color gray. I am laughing out loud with joy because all it took was a truly cheat ball o' yarn! Waitaminit, did you tell us how much yardage there is yet that will be the tester. I gotta rewind now....
Alysha, Glasses look great! I'm loving your hair too! So cute! It's so great that Dollar Tree is carrying more variety of yarn. Did you happen to see any sport/dk weight yarn? It's just what I'm using in a lot of my projects right now. 💕☮️🧶
Thanks for sharing about the Dollar Tree yarn. Good to know. My thought on you red glasses…if they were slightly deeper red I think they would be lovely…or a deep purple would be nice🤓😍😆
I love the Just Cotton SO MUCH. I made a shawl out of 8-10 skeins, and it drapes just wonderfully. My DT hasn't gotten any more of the gray in in a while or else it's the first color to sell out (my favorite, so of course,) but the yarn itself is just wonderful, for the price, and the colors have a distinct 'translucent-ness' to them that is very distinct from the opaque dyes that Lily and Lion Brand use. I dunno what it is, but Just Cotton's colors are awesome, for my tastes.
I wouldn't call it translucent, but they are less one-dimensional with the color. Honestly, I think it is because the just cotton is the bargain cotton and they don't get full saturation of the color. Instead, you see more color variance in the strands of the just cotton. It almost gives it a heathered appearance in some of the colors. I think, technically, it is a "flaw" but I actually LOVE that look.
I have used the just yarn to make hats and mittens for my kids just to practice on my sentro. I haven't seen the plush yarn yet but what a good tip to have a doubled yarn to see the stitches.
Nice review. I need to move to your state because in the state of California all the Dollar trees are now a $1.25 tree. That's what we nicknamed it cuz everything's. $1.25, as far as the yarn goes, I bought the Chanelle and I did have those funky little loops hanging out and then when I washed my blanket and my pillow it was a hot mess so I couldn't give it away as a gift, But what I want to say was for me I crocheted loosely because I had a hard time seeing the stitches for your sample that you were kind enough to show to us. Did you crochet tight? And the other problem that I ran across with the Chanelle it kept snapping on me when I would go to unravel it. Did you should crochet it really tight for the stitches to show up perfectly?
I just recently found out about DT yarn. Haven't tried it yet gonna get some soon. I need more yarn anyway for my granny squares. Thank you for sharing.
I love your videos with all the cool yarn tools! And you yourself are adorable. Keep it up! I'm a new subscriber. Thank you so much for all your hard work
Just Yarn is basically the same as Premier Basix. I did some washing testing on it and it performed great. But, on a per yard basis, Basix is cheaper! DT is great when you need small amounts.
in your experience, is just chinelle the same/similar to the basix chinelle?
i've crocheted dishcloths with the cotton yarn for family. Cotton yarn a bit thinner than peaches n cream. No feedback as to how they hold up. Now 1 skein for $1.25. the jury is still out here.

I really love the Just Yarn Worsted yarn.
Why not just buy RHSS? Or even craftsmart(michaels in store) it’s much cheaper per yard than the dollar tree yarns
I agree with you about the JUST CHENILLE yarn!! I bought some in all colors and made scrunchies out of them!!!🥰🥰🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶
I was shocked at how much I liked it!
Thank you so much for this review! Also, yes you are killing it in those glasses. I love them!!
Thank you ❤️

The Just Yarn is 1 of of favs. I love the rust color, but have not seen it in stores in almost a year. But, that yarn is a must!
Love Dollar tree yarn. I think your review was spot on 🧶 The red glasses look good on you.👓

That's me they now have fur yarn
I Love Dollar Tree yarn. I made my sister from church a purse with the black yarn. She loved it.
Alysha I discovered it a few years ago! I've made several afghans. Made by premier. Love this yarn! Currently making a c2c with it
“You gotta be like Hellen Keller” 🤣😂🤣

Love the glasses! The red is perfect!❤️ Going to hit the Dollar Tree this weekend, nice yarn!
I have used their yarns many times. Also, Premier is a great brand.
Love love love the glasses. Keep them!
You can definitely trust Premier
Love, love, love your glasses! They look great on you!
I love the Just Yarn from the Dollar Tree too.
Thank you
I just love how you get right into your videos w/no beating around the bush.

1.25 here in Atlanta. But I have bought it and am happy with it. Thanks girl.
That's the price now here in Ohio also. I agree basix from premier is cheaper but if you just need a skein or two or three, yes!!

Their hook sizing is way off. You're smart to go with what REALLY works!
I like the glasses! I think they are like men and bow ties- if you wear them, dont be shy about owning it! Maybe it will become your signature look.
I never thought about it that way. I do feel naked without them.
Love the red glasses on you..color and style!
DT yarns are very nice and work up well for the projects I use them for. I can make 3 sets of fingerless gloves from 2 skeins. My $2.50 investment makes me $60. I can't beat that!!

Thank you Rachel

Thank you! It's still Premier yarn & it is EXCELLENT! (As for your new specs, you always look amazing & I think they look super cute on you.)
I love your red glasses!❤ Watch the labels they are changing the yardage. I dug through and got the ones with the most yardage.
Thanks for sharing hugs and love. I really enjoy working with the yarn from the dollar tree. It’s nice and easy to use
Yes those glasses 👓 are so cute on you! And thank you for the DT yarn review. 🧶🧡

I have the same frames and I love them. They look great on you. Think of glass frames as an accessory and have some fun 😀
When you introduced the glasses I was midway into, “I like those glasses”
I so wish I lived in the USA you have far more choices for yarn. Loving your new glasses!!
I absolutely love the glasses!! They look so good on you! Thanks so much for this review :)
The red frames just look like a natural choice on you. A pop of fun, Im here for it
Love it!! That chenille is GORGEOUS! thanks for the review!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE your new glasses! You look FANTASTIC!
Thank you so much!!
Love this yarn! I go in there and check for it all the time. My dollar store is right next door to JoAnn's. 😶🤣
Double Trouble!!!!!! Take my money.
They are way off on their hook recommendations. You are super smart to go with what works
@@LittlejohnsYarn Yeah, I almost never even look at the recommendations.
Your new glasses are DA BOMB!!!
I enjoyed this. You include some great practical advice. And saving money on yarn is an exciting thing to me since I am on a fixed income. Subscribed!

Love the red glasses, they're a keeper. Thanks for this review. 😊
Love the red glasses, you look so young with your hair like that! Thanks for the review, definitely need some "yarn therapy", now I know where to go for a few skeins of cotton yarn!
Love the glasses, first thing I noticed and thought how cute you looked. They are keepers for sure
Love the glasses! I ran into a dollar tree and they had a $5 bag for $1.25 I grabbed it and some others and made a scoody* with pockets and love it! And made for $1.25 YES!!

Girl!!!, those glasses are SO you!!! You are simply precious and so are your glasses.
Our Dollar Tree stocks this yarn. I’ve bought tons. It’s not bad yarn and I’ve made a lot of hats and scarves.
I mostly use this for donation hats. I have made some baby blankets with it also. I find it very easy to work with.

I think your glasses are awesome! the red really suits you.
I hope these come to Dollartree in Canada!
