Figured I might have luck hitting you up with your screen name. When I used to deal black jack at Circus Circus, I'd always buy the Silver half dollars off my game when I was tapped out ...at the time... they used the halves to pay off the 2.50 for Blackjack payoffs. Today...that would DEF be a no-no!! LOL I was bound and determined to fill up an ArrowHead water jug. Well...that never happened...in fact, I don't even remember what I did with them, it was so mnay hyears ago!! Probably wound up putting them right back into a Poker Machines!! lol Oh well, it was fun!

I work at a small town rural Bank. I make sure all of coin is rolled and organized. My co workers think im nuts, but the hunters love it! We process ALOT of silver and war nickles, but I only hunt olds and rares.
Thank you for stating that you think these were stolen. That takes integrity. Other CRH sites that make great scores never say that though I've seen a few hem & haw like they think that but don't want to admit it. All of these scores can't be "grandpa's kids & grand kids didn't know what he had and just dumped them".
Its sad but true someone's whole collection dumped at bank but i guess that's just life....
Why would someone who stole them just dump them at a bank and get face value when 90% pre 64 silvers might be worth $20+ or more? It’s not like there is an owners name on these things.
@@junulock Less chance of getting caught with stolen goods. Reputable coin shops are going to want some ID (depending on laws) to buy them. There will also be video of the attempted or actual sale. No owner's name on them but there is probably a police report of the theft. Banks much easier to unload because they're still in wrappers. When I've dumped rolled coins at a bank the most they do is run a magnet over it to make sure they're not getting stuck with washers.

What an incredible hunt bro! I have never had luck with black rolls, I've gone through hundreds of them kinds of boxes and maybe found only 10 silvers. I've gone through hundreds of the yellow boxes as well and have found over $35,000 worth of silver in a single year from the yellows! Congrats

@@ericdrisgula3879 the way it's worked out for me is black rolls absolutely suck, consistently finding nothing while the yellow rolls seem to be really good to me. It's probably just luck but to me it means the black rolls suck.
My experience is exactly opposite. Yellow rolls bad. Black rolls good.

Last $1,000.oo box i went through I got one 1964 and 3 not released for circulation ...and that was it ...to find a box like you did ....that is AMAZING !
I know what you mean! I found 1 silver dump at a local bank 3, 4 years ago and I kept thinking "it's not going to end". There was one rule of halves where 19 of the 20 coins were all 40%s. In 2 rolls, 1 had 14 40%s and 3 90%s
Altogether, in six rolls I ended up finding 68 40%s, 11 90% Kennedys and 1 90% Benjamin

That’s crazy 1964 and before are silver and you found 64
My brother who died glued his coins to a cardboard backing that had a brownish backing like you see on cheap book cases. We never found his collection except a few wheat pennies and nickels. If your from or close to Florida you may have found them. He was building a treasure chest for my nephew and niece.
Im in IL so it's unlikely but did someone steal his collection after your brother passed or what happened?

@@purethccheck well, a lot of the coin hunters do 3-6 boxes a week for years. That will take a lot of space at home

Wow. I had no idea there was more than face value to these. My grandfather gave us silver dollars for As and 1/2 dollars for Bs. Somewhere I have a small money bag with about $85 worth of 1952-1965 coins.

Yeah... I wonder how old is this clip! I'm also digging into it and I have a feeling that we came to the end of the silver coins because the re-rolling companies are using machines that separates those silver coins from the others.

I bought a roll few months ago from a friend of a friend and was supposed to be mostly 90 percent Kennedys and Franklin's that their grandfather rolled in 70s and found several capped bust and some seated halfs. Of course I payed little more afterwards but cool to find pre civil war coins in a roll

The paper stuck on is most likely from coins caught in a flood that were in holders, envelopes or books, and the tarnish could be partly due to same.

I am 73 new to this collecting. How do you get rolled coins? The bank? I am looking at pennies and nickels. Just to start out looking at the dates mostly. My doctor wanted me to get another hobby and this is great for my cognitive issues. You have anothr blessed day.

Fun fact. A silver quarter in 1970 bought a gallon of gasoline. That same quarter still can buy a gallon of gasoline which now costs over 4 dollars a gallon.

If a coin looks to be Silver but doesn't jive with the date - weigh the coin could be an off plantchet Silver !!
I learned that con artist have many ways of fooling the best collotors and the only way to know what your getting is to get from the guy who has the brick and mortar store front with Coin Shop on the front because they are living on the sales of good coins. If you are a cheat in my town you are out on the street because we don’t play like that in my town.
When you say you order coins and they get delivered to your bank, how do you order them? Because i cant get my hands on a box of anything right now
I just went into my bank and asked if they had any half dollar rolls. They said, no, but we can order you some, that will be 500.00 you can pick them up on Monday. I tried to hand her 500.00 and she said not until they arrive.

Yea...I asked my bank how I can buy 500 bucks worth of half dollars and they said they don't do that. Maybe cuz it's a Credit Union...or maybe they're just lazy thinkin they gotta roll em all again!!! lol

5 boxes. 154 90%. 17 40%.
One box had 76 silvers by itself. One roll had 7 halves in it. Within that roll I found my first barber half. It also had the other main 3 types of halves. I'll never find that again. Huge dump

@@joshuabrown7034 You can go to your bank and ask for a box. Sometimes they will have one. If not, they might order one for you but a lot of banks don't want to deal with them. If you do get one never return the coins to the bank you get them from.

Dave just one more thing I really don't think they were stolen mate they needed the money because of the pandamic they were in hard times so they cashed them in because they needed the money I really don't think they were stolen Dave but you never no I guess.thanks again mate.
A bank just gave face value. Any coin shop dealer would have given more. Just a bit of investigating would give anyone that knowledge. These silver dumps at banks seem to be people in a big hurry for cash that also want to avoid any scrutiny that could come from passing silver coins elsewhere these days. I had an uncle that once lived next to a coin dealer that ran a local coin shop. His home was broke into over & over. A creek bordered the coin dealer's property on the opposite side from my uncle. I remember in one robbery the thieve's spilled coins all down that creek in their getaway. My uncle helped his coin dealer neighbor next day in finding his coins in the creek.

I've collected coins for 45 years now and metal detected for 43 years. It use to be a community of friends. Now its people who hide their identity. It's hard to understand but it is what it is I guess. I'm coin roll hunting as I write this and have found 7 keepers so far including a 1943 S nickel. Years ago tis find would make you yawn.

funny you mention finding key dates. Just did a coin hunt this week and found a beat up 1949 Franklin Half Dollar. My mint mark 1949 set is now complete. Video will be coming next week with that find.
I only found a small hand full of 90 presenters over the years. My best box yielded 26 forty presenters and a 1986 Ellis Island commemorative.
