Few refrigeration companies were trained or wanted to work on ammonia. By the 80’s they were becoming very rare. Now there is renewed interest.
Yes that is becuase its is eviromently friendly but more so becuase we have devices that can safely control NH3. We no longer have to work on valves amnualy almost the enitre system is automated.
