The first Midnight Special appearance (1:00) was on September 13th, 1974, making it after the ABC concert which was on February 12th, 1974. The Paris show was on January 26th, 1981 which is after his Saturday Night Live appearance on December 13th, 1980 Montreux was July 7th, before the North Sea Jazz Festival on July 11th, 1981 James' appearance on Solid Gold (3:22) took place on November 7th, 1981 which means it should go just before Doctor Detroit which was shot in the Summer of 1982 The Chastain Park show (5:15) was on January 1st, 1985, it should go after One Special Night Buonasera Raffaella (4:55) was on December 19th, 1985 so it should go after American Bandstand 33⅓ Anniversary (5:23) on December 1st, 1985 Japan Aid (5:50) was on October 4th, 1987, thus making it after the Welcome Home concert (5:56) which was on July 4th, 1987.
You did your research! I'm the guy who uploaded the original "The James Brown Split" video on youtube back in 2014. I kind of forgot about the whole thing until now. It's nice to see people like you, and others, doing their own compilations. Mine is terribly out of date, so much "new" footage of JB has been released since then. I saw your video, it was the basis for me to watch the Classic SNL show from 1980, because I searched all over the internet, I couldn't find the performances, there are some videos that I found by chance, like the Toronto show in 1979. But anyway, your video was the inspiration for me to make this one of mine.
