In the 1950’s when I was in grade school Garfield Goose came on at 5 PM. We had just moved from Chicago to the suburbs and my dad brought home our first TV. I watched that show everyday.
Boy, I sure am bummed I missed this, I would have been there in a heartbeat. I related to everything he talked about. Would have been so cool to be with others that remember this show as fondly as I do. I have a Garfield Goose hand puppet I bought 25 years ago at the Lake County flea market, pretty decent shape, just missing the crown. Hope there’s another event that I’ll hear about in advance that I could attend.
I remember loving the sound of Garfield Goose’s beak when he’talked’ and the other goose (I don’t remember the name). Guess they’d call that ASMR today.
Amazing how many emotions and attitudes could be created by a master puppeteer and a simple hand puppet!
I thought I was the only one who remembered and loved the show! I still have one of my birthday post cards!
