Great video! Ive been very intersted in this pack in particular and since the pack just came out recently, ive been trying to find videos about the pack that are not from simmers from the EA creator network to get a more non affiliated perspective on it so it was great to see your perspective on some of the aspects of the pack 👍
i feel like the sims created vs deaths statistic concern should take into account that not everyone is actually a gameplay enjoyer, some people just build houses/create sims to play dress up, or to test the houses theyve made etc.
i came to check the comments and i was shocked to not find any! i really liked this video, you deserve way more views and engagement. and i loved your commentary, i really hadn't thought of the points you brought up (like simmers not really playing their sims entire lifespan until the end. at least i barely do...) i really think the sims needs a huge revamp if they are not going to move on to the sims 5. i miss being immersed in my sims lives, and a lot of it comes from the lack of MEANINGFUL wishes/fears, personality traits!!!!, the annoying emotion systems that basically overrides personality traits, the lack of memories... i think overall sims themselves need to be revamped
6:31 fun fact, only 3.6% of simmers kill their sims. Which is very low but I’d say that what a lot of summers do is simply create a sim family, get bored with them too quick for them to die (this is probably happens mostly with children which do make up a large portion of the game), another reason to this is that killing sims is actually quite tedious and boring, I typically love killing sims for storyline reasons but often shy away to causing deaths due to how long it takes for them to die (3 days in a pool) (and deaths caused by fires and bad pufferfish etc take multiple failed attempts unless you get lucky, and even then it’s too easy of a problem to solve (in the case of fire)) And the factor that it’s actually very hard for deaths to happen by accident (happened to me only a handful of times) add in the factor another portion of sim players really loving their sims and not wanting to die and that 3.6% starts to make sense. Also I agree with you that the game isn’t compelling enough to get to the end of a sims life but I’ve no clue how ea could fix that

Really fair video
Glad you think so! I think it’s important to have balanced discussions when it comes to new packs and people spending their hard earned cash 🥰
