Great interview. Thanks.
I wonder if an Entertainment Lawyer and Agent would have been useful, with a PR Firm.
14:42 haven’t heard this song in a long time
Pura onda chicana tejana 🇺🇸🇲🇽 I have the Lp Con El Tiempo Jay And DLG
Classic Album
Tejano is a small market , not mainstream. Lots of ppl don't wanna accept it
Gibby said, “You get 3 cents.” He was spilling the tea, kicking butt and taking names. ☕️😂
James, another EXCELLENT interview. Yessssss!!!
You need to interview Jay Perez
Hopefully one day
Please!!!
Awesome interview Rock! Keep it up with these interviews man. All these Tejano legends stories need to be told, to keep it alive.
Pa que los youngsters tambien los conozcan dad.
yes sir
13/92 is one of the greatest tejano albums of all time Rock!!
And Breakin the Rules is the 2nd greatest!! Both have Jay Perez on Vocals. EVERY song on 1392 and Breaking The Rules are hits!!!
I’ve seen Jay perform multiple times and every time I’m just as excited! He’s amazing! One time at Mi Tierra’s mariachi bar he sang acapella and It was soo beautiful!
the Voice
I’m sorry to say but when SELENA died the Tejano music slowly stop playing. Especially here in Houston Tx the following year the tejano scene was gone.
Yup And All The Failed Attempts To Bring Back Tejano To The FM Radio I Lost Hope A Long Time Ago Man
Good Thing For Modern Technology I Can Enjoy Tejano Anytime I Want
Rock, in around 1995 or 1996, you visited a classroom I worked in at Rowe High School. Kids loved it. Great presentation that day. You were the special guest.
I remember going to Nikki Rowe High
Rock, you remember much more back in 95? Damn I gota rely on friends, photos and written documents to reminisce and the 70s and 80s are lost man but I have ticket stubs to remember those days!
Rolando Martinez There are times that stuff comes to my mind and I say to myself “wow I had fotgot about that” lol
Its the shit that makes you slap your forhead and say ay caramba dat u dont want to remember!
@@selenaqueenoftejano yup
The Hometown Boys,Los Dos Gilbertos,La Tropa F, Los DesperadoZ were also with EMI Capital back in the day. I have a few of those CD’s & hell yeah the Sound & Production of those albums are bad ass. The labels now a days sound nothing like EMI Studio Quality..
puros classics
Gibby is like the Paul Schaeffer of Tejano music.
I treasure all my tejano original cds especially the ones from the 90s emi latin ,Sony etc my kids make fun of me but they don’t understand the feeling of buying a cd and reading the inside credits and photos it was part of buying a cd for more than just the new music from your favorite artist
Exactly, yes sir !!
You are such a tease primo... only showing little parts of the interview... This is all good stuff. David Lee and Jay Perez were my all time favorite tejano groups. After I got out of the Marine core, I moved to San Antonio and that is what I cam home to. It was incredible.
Great Work Rock
Thank you Jesse
Nice,love the interview......Mr.Rock
Thank you George
How much time you got😂😂😂

Good show rock and roll James
Thank You Ron
I worked with groupo stampede from 1997 to 2001 they were signed with Sony discos for 2 years
Can wait to see the rest of the interview. Great job doing these interviews with tejano groups. Te saltaste la varda homecity!
Gracias carnal
The business side of the music industry is always interesting and insightful. We take the fun side for granted.
P.S. I don't want to see you without sunglasses!
lol you wont see me without them lol. It suddenly became an issue. #CancelCulture
❤ Latin Breed since late 80s early 90s. The best.
Nombre Rock talking about memory lane!!! Awesome
How about interviewing Elsa Garcia or Eddie Gonzalez?
Que Onda Rock 😳
Orale George
Don Gibby has some good stories on the business history of tejano music. I wish I still had all my cassettes that I bought from the pulga back in the day. Dile no a la pirateria!
That's not right,but it's now days
i love DLG!
So producers don't get royalties off of Spotify and Apple music? That sucks. I thought it did. "How much time you got". Lol
Do a interview with Tony Guerrero de La Sombra. Tejano style.
Good Idea I will contact him
I find it disrespectful when you have sunglasses on and the other gentleman do not. #personalismo
Dude, rock always wears his shades in his interviews. I’m sure these gentlemen know this.
@@TexasBoyJc not sure if you read the first four (4) words of my sentence🤔
My guests don't mind
@@Rocknrolljamesband those are beautiful words.
Tell You Yes sir I did, I just read the whole thing, I understood it smart ass. Just cause you type it doesn’t mean others will interpret it the way you meant it, some folks will interpret it in their way.
