In the new patch, 3.12, CIG presented us the first version of gas clouds in the depths of space. I've always liked this kind of thing, so I immediately decided to make a video about it, especially since in this game these clouds turned out to be really beautiful.

For those who are new to star citizen , these are IN-GAME volumetric gas clouds in space , this is not a cgi render , not a movie and not a scene , this is gameplay , you can legit fly your ship trough this and see it's glorious beauty , and the plan is to have planetside clouds using this tech too!
To my eyes CIG hasn't failed and the updates might be slow but they keep coming ! Supporting them with my pledges , exactly because of things like this, and this .. is kinda just a glorified graphic detail to achieve the mighty fidelity that Chris Roberts wants ,truly inspiring simulated universe
Planet side cloud tech has to run off a different method but I bet they look even better than this.
@@vorpalrobot they don t, i don t know if they ve changed it now, but planets ones weren t even volumetric, just the most mundane of flat clouds used by everyone since the beggining of times
@@jh5kl volumetric planetary clouds haven't been added to the game yet.

one example is space engine, actually properly massive and realistic nebulas, even x rebirth had it and its a really old game, etc etc etc
@@jh5kl nice try. But those are not volumetric clouds. Those are simple images layered multiple times. Almost the same as volumetric clouds.

Remember the people who went like: "Star Citizen graphics are outdated, Cyberpunk 2077 will blow it out of the water"?
Besides the point that CP2077 is a released game with real content and story, FPS gameplay that is not broken and janky, AI that is not lobotomized and standing on seats, skill up and perks system, crafting, hacking and many more game systems SC fanbois like you can only dream about - It also is clearly looking better, supports Raytracing and has vibrant and alive world compared to the grey corridors in grey cities and grey ships that SC has to offer. CP2077 also runs at 60+FPS on a modern PC while SC still struggles to get to 30FPS
Even Demons Souls on my $400 PS5 looks better than SC on a $4000 PC.
I know you people have to cope with the situation that SC is in where nothing really works, the game is always just one "insert fantasy technology here" away from releasing and SQ42 is perpetually in beta next year, "promised, for real this time".
I advise you to buy another ship to cope. They need that money if they ever going to finish in this century.
@NelyL i know you need to cope but SC does not even support Raytracing or HDR.
Your anecdotes that SC runs better are hilarious when the reviewers and the players on the SC forums constantly complain about FPS even with $4000 rigs.
Even the morons that got suckered into buying an Optane that is now outclassed by a $300, 7GB/sec PCIe 4 NVME can't get decent FPS. LMFAO!
Sure, your system magically performs better than that of everyone else.

@@FUDBuddy While Star Citizen has bad performance, and awful stability, for me at a native 4K Star Citizen does actually run better for me than Cyberpunk, a little depending on location.

These look awesome, where in the star system are they?
The colours of them correspond with the planet they belong to. Hurston = orange, Crusader = white, Arccorp = green and Microtech = blue. Some of the tints are subtle but you get the idea.
All „L“ stations have them , like MIC-L1 for example

Star citizen всё больше становится похож на евку мечты :-)
С одной стороны красиво конечно, с другой глупо ибо газовые облака охватывают сотни звезд и тысячи. А тут какие то мазки в одной системе статичной где все стоит на одном месте чего в природе быть не может.... Их должно было куда то притянуть или солнечным ветром сместить на границы системы. Из обещанной ультрареалистичной игры на выходе мы получаем какие то мультяшные Звездные Войны... Даже в Элите нет подобных штампов да даже в старом Икс - 3

нет такого в космосе. масштабы в миллиарды раз не соблюдены и такой цвет у туманностей только в инфракрасном. а также никто бы не строил станции в рое камней. в настоящем космосе просто всё чёрное и пустое до горизонта. просто тупо ничего нет.
Но, в игре можно сделать красива:)
