JMcC performed Otello more than any great tenor in history at over 560x - this is another terrific case example of why he enjoyed such celebrated success in the role for so long, vocally & dramatically being ideally suited to it + always such passionate intensity & 💙
Did he sang this role with a schedule 5/2 in the week? I don't think his career was that long to made such numbers of performances. He was a fierce competitor, but the number of performances might be exaggerated a little.
Nope ⚖️ He sang it for almost 30 yrs & Otello was so frequent that it was nearly 1/2 of his workload 🎶 Jimmy was also a veritable work-horse too; being a Specialist w/a fairly tight core of in-demand roles that he concentrated upon + being willing to go-to smaller regional Co’s all over the 🌎 while staying in demand for that same length of time at the Top Houses & being blessed w/quite amazing stamina explains it easily 🎭 He kept up an incredible schedule + concerts & focused on his core Rep w/very few side ‘adventures’ = he knew exactly who/what he was 🍀
@@peterrandsman4881happy new year to you too! I'm happy that some people still know those singers, especially Zenatello. I'd say my favourite Otello in history is Martinelli, although his recordings are not in his prime
Thanks, and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!!! YOU ARE WONDERFUL TO US!!!
This baritone Benjamin Rayson is terrific!! Sorry that I had not heard of him outside this performance.
Thank you and Happy New Year from Germany!
Happy New Year!

Thank you! Happy New Year!
And to you!!!
Leads missing cues??? Sounds a bit rough... singing great!!
Pity, Correlli never performed Othello. Would have given Del Monaco and McCracken a run for their money.
@@amandajean7738 it's a shame
@LucasBernalGarcia-w3g It's a pitiful shame! 😓
Repotedly, he was afraid of subsequent comparisons with MDM and therefore did not sing this role.
I don't like McCraken as otello
McCracken along with Del Monaco, Vickers and Martinelli is one of my all time favorite Otello Tenors. Funny how are tastes are all different?
@peterrandsman4881 I guess. I also love all of who you mentioned. I really like Vinay and Zenatello too
@LucasBernalGarcia-w3g Ah yes, I forgot to mention Vinay and Zenatello!!! We have a lot of singers we enjoy in common!!!! Happy New Year!!!!
