The Hornet is not a better car, its been proven that the Hopper can out do the Hornet on jumps and the race track, the plastic on the Hopper is a harder plastic, The Hornet is cheaper to make, Tamiya always felt guilty for selling the Hornet when the Hopper was better, They made the Hornet sound better than it was, The Frog was the show stopper back then, it was way ahead of its time, it can even stand up to most rc cars today, the three pivot suspension rig is still in use today, great car.

We meant as a basic car if u were just going to build from scratch. with upgrades, yes the hopper is better, but as a kit standard car, it's debatable
