He never had any innocence. He was a pos since day once, a Privileged prince who got away with everything and threw a tantrum when he found out she was adopted. Thor was like him at the start of the film too...except he actually learned how to be a gold person. Loki didn't until his show, he doesn't deserve sympathy, Imo
The acting here is sooooo good, I get lost in that scene because Loki finally understands why he was always treated as second best to Thor and you can hear the sadness in his cry, he isn’t mad, he is heartbroken beyond belief because all he wanted was to be apart of a family.
I truly think nobody could've played the role as Loki better than Tom Hiddleston. The way he perfectly portrays Loki's emotions in this scene and the pain the character's experiencing, also the hurt after being lied to. Along that, the portrayal of realization and the truth coming out. I also want to mention Odin, Anthony Hopkins, and how well he's played here. There're emotions that these two actors have brought out and it makes this scene so so real.
This scene is so intense!! So powerful! A perfect place to appreciate the acting capability of Tom Hiddleston. "TELL MEEEEE"......U got us right there!
it’s sad that serious moments like this don’t happen in the mcu anymore….if this scene came out now there would be at least 4 cheesy jokes made before the 3 mins were up
That’s what happened when a serious artist like Kevin who did this movie. I miss people like him and Jon Favreau who made MCU great without cheesy dialogue
And this was the moment I fell in love with Loki's character. No matter what he does in the future, this terrified young boy is where it started. So full of self hate and doubt, an outcast even in his own 'family'. You can see it later on throughout the mcu, In avengers he says that he "won't be bullied" by the hulk. Not bested, not beaten, not any of those things, but bullied. The outcast child shines through in small moments and that is why loki is the perfect mix of villan and hero.
At that moment, I fell in love and no longer belonged to myself. His pain was so similar to mine. It's so hard to find a soul mate, I could only find it in a character in film
I’m my opinion Loki was ashamed of who he was and Odin only added fuel to the fire so I’m my perspective Odin is the true villain of the story and the one responsible for Loki’s fall
There's rumors now that -- [Loki season 2 spoilers?] -- Loki isn't actually an adopted Frost Giant, but the son of Laufey and Hela, meaning he's Odin's biological grandson and a legitimate heir to both thrones. This would make so much sense on so many levels, and makes this scene so much more painful.
@@litepaw7 It might be more of a fan-theory, I don't remember the source. No new content has been released since I made that comment and if true he would still be a Frost Giant born on Jotunheim, just one that is half Asgardian.
I miss scenes like these. The stillness, the pacing, the deliberate nature of the dialog, the tension, feelings being allowed to be. Watching this is a clear reminder, why the MCU quirky approach is ruining the films. No one cares about what's happening, because all feels like a parody of what this was. The Loki show gave us some of that back, but I don't think that's going to be the trend.
Loki: You took me for a purpose. What was it? Odin: Well, I kind of hoped you'd become a Time God responsible for saving and preserving the lives of a literally infinite number of beings, and stand atop all of existence and be happy with it. Loki: ...What? Odin: Um.... never mind. Pretend I didn't say anything. Loki: .....TELL ME!
Can we just appreciate Tom’s acting here, it was so good🥺🥺
Yesss it really was 👏🏽
Its so good that everytime i hear the " Tell me" line its so painful to hear. :(
@AngieJolie 10 I totally agree
Sure
top notch
You can see lokis innocence leaving here
His innocence left when he was a kid
@@ThirdStar376 Lol “Innocence”

You can tell Loki cares for Odin, when he checks his heartbeat or pulse, and calls for help.

Tom Hiddleston is such a good actor and he played this role sooooo well.
Well lets admit this:
Loki is the only villain that made people love him, Hate him, lust for him, laugh at him and even feel bad for him
This is the best scene in the MCU
One of them, but definitely up there.

Best acting…

"I am the monster that parents tell their children about at night" hit me hard
this scene hurts my soul to see loki be so broken like that ;-;
poor boi
There goes the pieces of my heart... oh look they fell
Mine dropped with urs bestie 🥲
Right after he yells "TELL MEEE!" I always hear "WATCH ME NOW!" from Do you love me
He hurts my ears every time he says it.

The jokes is nice too but this is even better
I get goosebumps every time I watch this scene. His cry of "TELL ME!" is haunting.

Wow Tom's performance is pretty amazing in this scene
Back when the MCU rivaled Shakespeare
LOL
And then Ragnarok...
This is what missing from love & thunder, that series really need an acting lesson from tom hiddleston

I mean he hid it and it came forgotten
Odin: I'm going to sleep now, I'm too stressed to talk about this.

Odin: YOU'RE UNWORTHY!
“TELL ME!”

Really you can understand why he's pissed off. I mean the logic behind his actions in this first film sort of make sense!🤷♀️
