Jim Riley from Rascal Flatts teaches you how to set up your new Ludwig Accent Kit. You can find these at www.GoDpsMusic.com
Tbh this doesn’t sound loads different to the high end Ludwig sets. With decent cymbals and new skins this would sound great. Save you a lot of money as well.
Shhhhh, you are exposing industry secrets
Yeah that's what i did, i got nice Evans g2 coated heads, use the stock drum heads as resonator heads, new cymbals and it sounds great. although I don't use the second rack tom.
@@DevinLatulippe this is what I was thinking. Im thinking of a small kit for my son....ok for me 😆. And my son! But i could do without the second rack tom. Wish you could trade it for say a crash! The kit sounds awesome here. .
For stock heads those actually sound pretty decent. Cymbals are pretty bad but at least you get the hardware. Buy this drum set, pillow up the Bass, change the heads (Or at least get a nice one for the snare) get new cymbal or two and you've got a pretty nice drum kit
Hang a blanket on the wall (just behind the kit) to help absorb some of the echo off the brick wall.
She took the house and the kids.
Got the green sparkling kit
Helpful tutorial, thank you.
I would tune my snare higher but thats just me. Good job man. I own a Yamaha stage custom kit with sabian hand hammered cymbals.
In all honesty, instrument plays a part in sound, but the player plays the biggest part. Take the best drummer in the world, and give him that Accent kit, and he'll make it rock the roof off, then take the worst drummer in the world, and give him a set of DW Collector's Series, and they'll sound like shit. Drums are wood shells, and I think with proper heads, proper tuning, and a good player....even the cheap ones will sound pretty damn good. Now with cymbals, that's a different story....they are what they are, you can't alter them. It's just you have to pay a shit load for a set of the "professional" lines, but you can buy used and save a ton....cymbals have horrible resale value unfortunately.
Completely agree with you. Though cymbals can also be treated to sound better, it is fairly easier to pick up good cymbals rather than cheaper, low grade ones.
Thank you, one of the best drum demos I've seen ;-)
Do you give drum lessons your BEAST bro
Actually yes he does. Look him up .Jim Riley. Drummer for Rascal Flatts.
Could you, please, write me the name of the black sticker? My English is too bad to find it. I just bought this set!
Thank you for adressing hearing
This was my first ever set I think
I definately like to do that and hole my Persian rug.
Can we use headphones
I remember when my cymbals and heads looked like that.
If you get this your gonna need to get good heads, better cymbals, and tune really good
Since your drum set only have a 16" Crash/ Ride cymbal , if I want to add a cymbal , should I add a Ride or crash?
i want to hear how this kit will sound in recording
So thats what happened to Ludwig after Bonham died.
I have the same kit. What are the sizes for each drum?
hey i am having the same drum kit that u were playing but can u just tell me how to tune up the snare
Does the bass drum touch the floor??
What is the size of the cutting template used?
what i like to do rather than cut a hole in the kickdrum is to take the front off and just screw it back on when the pillow in inside
what would be a good set for my grandson to start on he is 9
yeah something like this or a pearl forum can be around 300 dollars i suggest buying some zildjian cymbals, don't keep the ones they give you, they sound shitty, new cymbals can be like 150-300 bucks but worth it
Cole Nystrom Yeah 300 a piece lol it sucks. I got some new beats hats a little while ago for $350. I love them but Damn drumming isn't cheap lol
I never understand why cheap drum kits come with pearl style tom mounts
after I port the bass drum and stuff in a pillow, how do I seal it up again?
+XXSNIPERELITEXX No
if you were gonna do that, you should have just took off the drumhead
Why would you want to seal it again??
Thanks for shipping the jobs overseas, lol😂
He really muscle it out dho
pause at 7:04 and look at his face :)
+Garythebiggoof ok theres nothing funny about it.
7:03 10x better
agly Drams
beginner.....haha)))
This kit is okay with replaced cymbals
Bobo Agree
I had this kit. Your completely correct
Dont throw them away they sound great in stacks or you can experiment making your own cymbal!
Would new drum heads for the toms make them sound better
Yeah I agree, the hi hat is okay but the ride/crash is horrendous
Love this kit demo; and by a professional drummer, too! Sweet chops, man!
A lot of haters look down on junior sized kits. But they don't realize how much potential these small kits really have.
With good hardware and quality drum heads, this could the most Badassiest live gig/studio kit ever!
I like the size and feel of this kit. It's small and light-weight to fit in the back seat of a car.
Sound-wise, the possibilities are Endless with some creativity and vision behind it... just break the rules
and take this little kit to a higher level, and fans will drool after seeing and hearing it in performance.
For modifications, I'd use a rack for the toms (and add some 10", 12", and 14" rototoms into the mix),
and I'd add a second kick drum... my ideal deathmetal setup.
Even in its default setup, that small kit is absolutely fine for young drummers who are starting out.
Thanks for sharing this experience! \m/
I love your thinking!! I have the exact same drum set that's in the vid. Check out the cover of the Jimmy Eat World on my channel.
Tony Vazquez i have this set, and i can tell that the heads are worn out, what type should i get?
I have a pearl forum (not fz) that I wouldn’t part with.It sounds great as good as any top end kit
was this replaced by the backbeat
Hey if I'm wanting to start drumming what's a good starter rock drum

That’s not a bad sounding Ludwig drum set. I love the vistalite drums from the 1970’s
end of the day its all about SKILL! & STYLE
As a rank beginner I really appreciate going through the set p procedure
What's the fill called at 8:55? I'd love to learn that one!
its a R L L R L L rudiment fill
This was my first kit in high school. Had it for about 10 years. I finally upgraded to a DW Performance series. The Ludwig is such a good kit. I had coated Remo Emperor heads with clear Remo ambassadors and it sounded so kit. My DW screams more because of the maple but the Ludwigs have such a great sound for the price.
I have been playing drums on a cheap electric kit for a few months. Im looking for a low budget acoustic drum set that i can keep a long time. Will this ve a good drum set?
Sound pretty decent to me.
No trust me they suck
The base kit is bad it needs to be customized
Just change the head and this kit will like mid end tama kit
Not knocking these beginner/entry level sets. I would just like a drum company to be honest and say.. yes the cymbals are shit and the heads are garbage but the shells with new batter and reso heads and snare wires and proper tuning you can make it sound fantastic.
Should do a before and after with that. especially with beginner sets because it can be discouraging to learn on a instrument that sounds horrible.
This set was gotten for me as a graduation gift, I'm in my twenties now and it has all new heads cymbals and what not. Does anyone suggest using this as a little gig kit?
i have used this kit for gigging plenty of times. With new heads and good tuning, it can be just fine
When he said "after playing I've noticed some things I could fix" I was waiting for him to say buy a new set 😂😂😂 but in all serious tighten that damn bass drum
All right forget it. I'm NOT buying a drum set... I'd never be that good...
can anyone explain the lick at 8:54 ?
TRIPLETS BABY!

There are videos on it
I like the drum kit. I think it's fine, don't know why people hate it.
Go to my channel I have the exact same drum set and used some products to make it sound really good
Fellas, great video. Tremendous playing. I'm a huge fan of Ludwig. These are very nice drums at this low price point. That's a lot of BANG for the money.
The cymbals can be replaced with time. Cymbals and extra hardware will quickly surpass the cost of the kit, so starting drummers, beware.
But it all evens out, 'cause top of the line kits come without either.
My advise, play the hell out of this set, wear it out. And replace as needed. With experience your ear will best discern what $500 cymbal you'll best want.
Again, great video.
Thanks for posting.
I’m looking to get my first acoustic set for my home recording studio. Is this ideal?
Are you on a budget?
If not I would suggest Yamaha stage custom . And if you are I would choose Eastar because it has everything a pro drumset has
But is cheap .
5:42 and 5:40 awesome groove bro
is this a kid's set?
I don't like the leaving the pillow positioning in the bass drum at "it's a matter of preference", because at this price point, kids are not gonna know how to use the pillow properly. Either let the bellow gently rest on on of the heads, or have it gently rest on both heads. Understand where the sound you don't like is coming from and then experiment where you'd like the muffling to start from.
"drums are loud"... really?
I purchase this kit at cheap price without cymbals n hi hats.22000rs (twenty two thosend indian RS (delhi, india)
What specific genres would this kit be good for?
Jazz
it's a little on the smaller size, but really anything if you're a beginner :)
hydralic heads i liked for a deeper tone
I'm sorry I was just joking when you're getting much respect that was awesome thank you for the helpful tips
What would be a good drum kit to buy,but i have never played drums before but i would love to get into them, my price is around 350$ or so and if you could sent me a link that would be great if not that's fine. Thanks!
esos platos no son con los que viene ese modelo, yo compré esa bateria y venía con unos platos horribles no sonaban así eran de latos pero en serio el peor latón del mundo.
Mine is a accent power tone kit toms are a little deeper with a pinstripe two ply on the 22” bass drum no muffing or felt strips. Had it since 2007 and still looks new🥁
Snare sounds vry bad
You'd actually want to use headphones since earplugs can damage your eardrums to
Only if you wear the same earplugs too many times and don’t clean your ear properly. You should switch out earplugs pretty often.
did this come with everything or just the shell?
brianna is salty everything
Nice drumming..
Sure looks like Barry Williams (Greg Brady) Nice video.
This is Good . But how can i Practice Beating the base with my feet and D other one ? u have any idea sir ?
5:49 nope
I hope someone can help me.
I am from Manila, and there's a store here that sells Ludwig Accent Set. I need to know if this Accent series LC175 does not really have cymbals included (hi-hat & crash)... This video shows it does, not sure of the series model though. I also checked the Ludwig Website, and it says LC175 includes the cymbals. Thanks. I appreciate your help.
They do
best video on UA-cam salute your work hats off🙏
thanks
Anybody know where I can buy this
Accent music that's where i got mine at and this is the actual color i got
Chops.
Let me just grab my hole real quick😂😂😂
Excellent! Straight forward and to the point! :-)
Good
Can you bend the Tom Tom drums up and down when you are assembling the set or can you adjust them when you have the whole thing set up?
CL4P Fade I don’t have the kit but from the looks of it probably both my dude
Probably not the set i'm gonna go for, i think im gonna go for a deeper sound
Put good heads on it makes a difference
I love Drums To☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
best drummer bro....awesome....takes a lot of efforts.
Ahh man looks like Ludwig cut into the drums for mounting that sucks
A razorblade..!!...with the head still on......🤔
Is this the break beats or the back beat??
What the? He just punch a hole on the new kit?. I will never do this. I think the pillow is enough. Or put a foam arround the inside of the shell.
this is something all pro drummers do and is almost required for recording drums. it is not at all unusual or bad. and even still. it is just a head so if u mess it up, u can buy a new one for cheap
if all pro dummers do that. then they will design all drums to have the whole in the kick drum heads.
+listojay lol they do for alot of the pro kits on the market. its called a porthole. look up any pro drummer and their kit will have a porthole in it.
+listojay some drummers put their portholes in different spots, some like them larger or smaller; that is a reason that most kits dont have them in already
ok. coz i was thinking to put a hole just like this one but i was afraid to ruin the beautiful kick drum head
is this the ludwig accent fuse drum set ?
I use this same set live, Just ditched the cheap cymbals and hats and cheap pedal and throne that it came with and put new Evans heads on it and 3 years later and i still love it and it sounds killer, especially if tuned correctly.
I now have a full size tama empirial
Does it come with the chops?
how to we patch up the hole or what not??
A great budget drum kit !
So that is how you do it. My bass drum sound like that at the end. :-)
Your good
Is this kit good for hardcore punk drumming?
As someone who plays punk and generally dont give a fuck what I play on, yup.
That was my first real drum kit I picked up for 225 . Then I sold it for 300
the kick drum is okay
snare suck
Nice
Awesome the best
