John, you're going to heaven! I can't help but tear when I hear his prayer. He obviously so much loves the Savior. John you are so so precious. All you want to do is to make us understand how precious Jesus is. You want us to love him as much as you do. There is nothing in the world finer than to love Jesus before anything else.
Thank you for putting Dr. Macarthur up for all to see. One of our great teachers and someone I've learned an incredible amount from. God bless him for as long as God sees fit to allow him to continue.
Been listening on repeat Dr. MacArthur's sermons on this matter these last few weeks and am grateful for this one as I have learnt so much. So clear and well-explained. Thank you.
I love you John. You have been so incredible in my life. I can't say enough about how your dedication to the word and obedience to scripture has done for my life.
John mentioned the book he wrote; The Gospel According to Jesus Christ, but I remember many Christians were confused on the topic of being saved by Grace through faith alone. At the time in 1985, there were many people who believed that by keeping the Law they would obtain salvation. Many people believed they could lose their salvation. John wrote this book to clarify that once a person places their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation the work was done. Then Sanctification was something we all had to learn. Obedience to God was difficult as the saved sinner, still sins and being obedient to the Scriptures was a dread-filled thing to do. We learned that the Holy Spirit indwells the Believer at the time they believe and He will give the Believer Power to obey the word of God. It was a stressful time for many of us who did place our personal faith in Christ for salvation, but staying in the word these past 37 years has enlightened me in the word of God, giving me great understanding as to reading, believing and obeying the word of God to the glory of God.
God has ordained that those who are saved are to do good works. The difference is we are to do good works because we are saved, not in order to be saved.
Doesn’t it even say in the New Testament that God will write his law on Israel’s heart! Meaning that it’s in our hearts to follow the law because we love Christ! And want to do his will!

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
