I just graduated with a BSc in PE. Study of engineering in general is not an easy task! So you'll have to work hard. After graduation you'll be faced with two options: 1. Work for Operators (i.e. Shell. ExxonMobile, Chevron). 2. Work for the Service Companies (SLB, BakerHughes, Halliburton). Each got its pros and cons, but mostly they'll require you to be on the field (offshore or onshore) working long hours. In return, you get paid handsomely and you get extended weeks off. Hope that helps :D
Finally a video posted on what petroleum engineers daily tasks are! I've been waiting for something like this to post on UA-cam for a while. The other videos don't give a personal view of petroleum engineers. Thanks!
I'm trying to decide between petroleum engineering or chemical engineering with an empathizes in the oil industry. Can anyone please tell me any advise for both majors?
Is it hard to get into petroleum engineering by getting a mechanical degree? The state I live in doesn't offer petroleum degrees or should I transfer out to an out of state?
