Best podcast focusing on competitive content for the average joe, no cap. Right up there with Shift Gear podcast. Glad to see you guys cover Singapore Regionals Vol. 3! Nice to know we're not as overlooked as before. As a Chien Pao player, me and some friends worked out a winning line to beat Ancient Box before the Regionals. I didn't face any on Regionals day but I had no issues going against Ancient Box during practice on PTCGL.
It is a global game so we need to support that love. Sometimes the east breaks out decks we weren't ready for but how'd you guys let zoroark box win so many top 16s there. SMH
55:27 I was talking to Josh Frink since he’s a local of mine, he said he had no issues with future box, he chose to go second every game, with klefki in the active, and tm-evo, only lets them attack once, turns of the crowns as you stated, and then attack the next turn. He was on the shuffle squad meta forecast that they just posted and he talked about it as well! Keep up the good work y’all, both having good seasons, and enjoy this info every week!
I’ve been playing lost zone box and just haven’t figured out how players have gotten away without manaphy in their lists with chien pao being able to greninja the comfeys. I played against 2 Chien Pao in Orlando who were able to bully me in the early game with greninja for the win.
Definitely instant subbed hope to see some constant content coming from the channel ngl I learned alot. That card you brought to play in gardy??? Isn't that a 400 dollar card. Never thought about the tourneys being language locked we should most def allow multiple languages to regional events. When I began playing pkmn I started with lost box so this has swayed me to start using lzb again.
Lost Box will always be good and gain support due to it being able to power up Pokemon with Mirage Gate. Don't be like me and spend money for the card haha. I've been playing card games for 20 years so my wallet and body are ready for these things
Awesome podcast guys!! I have a question and I hope you can help me How do you approach the Lugia matchup as Charizard, I haven't really understood how to beat it and I'm struggling, any advice is welcome
I actually think it might be correct to go second with Lugia. You get two supporters turns. even if charizard gets turn two attack it doesnt really matter.
Obviously zard is BDIF, I'll be playing my first regional at Los Angeles. Should i avoid playing zard because my inexperience will hurt in mirror matches? Or just play it cause its too good not to?
If you’ve been playing a deck that loses to zard I’d recommend a change. Cpao and lzb are strong decks with worse overall matchups than zard, but slightly favoured into zard so they’re good decks too
@RowanStavenowTCG thanks for the advice, and awesome info on this channel! Yeah I've been playing Lugia and ArcTina because they seemed like easy decks to play that would be favored against zard. But I'm finding with Lugia you still can struggle against zard if your start isn't perfect. With ArcTina you can struggle against zard mid to late game because of disruption and needing to find 1 specific card without starbirth (max belt, iron leaves, or gust)
You'll never know until you try. I refused to play Gardy due to the mirror last format and I refused Charizard until the end and Charizard was just too good too.
playing moon ex in lost box also lends itself to letting you play hoopa ex. sure its attack is double dark so it needs 2 gates but your energy is less scuffed than the decklist you showed.
If your a masters player calling a judge on foreign cards your probably a scum bag. Sure the text is a different language but the card art and the energy costs/attack damage is printed the same of all the cards. If you dont know what all the cards in the top 5 meta decks are we got some bigger problems. Because the ones that are trying to call judges probably arent new players their people that are trying to abuse a rule to get a free day 2 over foreign card dpls. It would honestly be nice to be able to play foreign cards in NA
Not everyone is gonna know every card word for word, some people play in regionals to have fun, and having it in another language messes with the competitive integrity. That said, I think foreign basic energies should be fine

Future box felt like an even matchup. Love Josh Frink beautiful hair that man

Sometimes you have to pray and hope - unfortunately that is easier said than done lol

Hoopa also good versus future box and arceus (y) i think they were really trying to beat charizard with the shaymin
