Recognizing a group of people’s contribution to music and art doesn’t make you racist however systematically ignoring their contributions does……now how much worse is it when the people in question didn’t just contribute but originated it. We owe soooo much of our best music to African Americans.

It was banned in some places in this country because Fat Domino was black. If Fat Domino was white it would've been different. Fat Domino made history bringing two races together and that's an awesome thing to accomplished. Especially doing it through something he loved which is beautiful music.

It was banned because white people who knew better knew what it was all about & the subliminal messages & the underpinnings of the music & message.
But thx again by twisting truth & being a politically correct by continuing the narrative & lie by saying it was a racist campaign.
I guess you think c rap music is great music & anybody who dislikes it is racist also.

As a teenager in the Midwest, one of my favorite late night AM radio stations in my car was WWL in New Orleans. Aside from one of two "local" stations, KOIL in Omaha and WHB in Kansas City, my radio's 5 push buttons were set for WWL, WLS in Chicago, KOMA in Oklahoma City, and KAAY in Little Rock. None of the last 4 were available during the day because of distance, atmospheric conditions and FCC regulations.

It is so truly hard to say who invented rock 'n' roll, or what the first R'n'R song was. There were just so many songs around that time, between 45 and 51. Rock 'n' Roll was like a combination of Jazz, Blues, and Country music styles. But it was definitely the product of the invention of electric guitars, and new recording technology. I belive that is when guitar players, and bass players were able to step out from behind the big-band orchestras, and be heard within a quartet/quintet of electrified instrumentalists. That was "Rock 'n' Roll". The loud sounds of the strings and drums. Playing fast I, IV, V progressions through loud tube-driven-amplifiers. The four/five piece bands embracing the latest in sound technology. When the innovators colided with artists. BOOM! The R'n'R Boom was born. And from there it branched off into many other R 'n' R styles. Eventualy Rock 'mn' Roll became "Rock", and so fourth Rock music became, "Heavy Metal". Than Preogressive rock/metal/fusion. And as technology changed, so did music. Continuing trough to today.

Popular music history suggests that Rock n Roll, as we came to know it, was born with the release of Little Richards "Tutti Frutti" back in 1956. And it evolved from then. A young white American teenager called Elvis Presley, with a passion for Rhythm and Blues took to the emerging new musical trend: The rest is Pop music history. 😎❤

Elvis 1954 recording of THAT'S ALRIGHT was early. He released his Sun recording before both Little Richard and Chuck Berry released their debut tunes. My vote goes to HANK WILLIAMS and his recording of MOVE IT ON OVER. Hank wrote and recorded this rockin' little ditty and it predates any of the other contenders.

Move it all over is defo more of a contender than I'm walking or Rocket 88. Those recordings are pure rhythm and blues, and Hank Williams his record sounded like pre- rock and roll. Thanks to Elvis bariers were broken, and people like Little Richard and Chuck Berry made it big as well.

IMO; we have to go back to the early electrification of the guitar, the person who “invented” riffs, that everybody copies to this day, Sister Roseatta Tharpe.

Louis Jordan didn't help invent rock and roll. He explained in an interview that Decca asked him to make rock and roll and he never did for Decca because he didn't like it. Rock and roll was hugely influenced by the Louis Jordan/Roy Milton mainstream jump blues sound of the mid-'40s because that was what was being mixed with gospel as a joke.

She didn't help invent rock and roll, which was invented as a mix of jump blues and gospel, as a sacrilegious joke, during a period when she wouldn't perform any secular music, let alone sacrilegious music. Examples of female rock and roll from before 1950 are "Hole In The Wall" by Albennie Jones and "Jump And Shout" by Erline Harris. Neither has been recognized by the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in their yearly largely nonsensical and oddly timed lists and Tharpe has, but the RRHOF is incompetent, Roy Brown of all people ("Boogie At Midnight" 1949, "Butcher Pete" 1949, wrote "Good Rockin' Tonight," etc.) hasn't been either.
