I am of course an Iowa fan, and as such I have to be optimistic about their progress. I really do think this season could see them as a top 4 or 5 in the big. If Cades leg comes around they could be even higher. With a good or better offence they will be able to rest the D a little instead of the D playing over 90 plays as they did at Penn St. If you look at the yards made in the big ten championship, Michigan didn't really light it up. They got all of the breaks, two of their touchdowns only covered 11 yards. One on a fumble that was controversial and one was a great return on a punt. The controversy was that no one thought it was a fumble. The Mich player picked the ball up to give it to the ref, he didn't try to run it in. Just one game but I had to address it because it looked bad and was embarrassing.
Typically, over the last twenty seasons, Iowa gives up between 10.5 and 14 points per game. If Iowa has any offensive success, they can win 9 games. The question is, can they pick up 1 or 2 additional wins? If they can average 315 yards of offense, they will be hard to beat.
No matter what, the offense cannot be worse than it was the last several years. It has been painful to be a Hawkeye football fan. Thank the Lord for Caitlin Clark!
Certainly bold saying iowa special teams will fall off. They’ve been so good consistently for decades, I doubt this will be the year

Ostrenga is going to be a 1st or 2nd round NFL pick. More athletic than Lachey and a better blocker. They are loaded at TE. Not as bullish on McNamara ad you all are. He has durability issues. But I think Sullivan is a solid back up and is much more mobile than aby QB Iowa has had since Bethard.

@@robert5755 Those two schools helped bring in revenue. They are both academicly good. Terps are elite in LaCrosse, so Big Ten became an elite program in that sport overnight.
With the revenue gained from those two teams, Big Ten was able to grab USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington.

Partition trophys for any West team that made the BIG championship. The East dominated. They should have moved Michigan to the West. Could keep OSU as their protected rival. I think they should keep divisions. With the additon of the west coast teams there is now parity. USC and Oregon can compete with the OSUs in talent.
