Great job of riding & the video !!!!!!!!! Thoughts that are running through my mind are, How you managed to get all the video and keep track of it after all the miles you have done. Amazing job !!! I have been watching it on and off through the day at work. Looking forward to day 7.
Glad you enjoyed the series. Keeping track of everything for video day to day was a challenge, but doing it after the fact really helped me re-live the route. After the Tour, it took me months (almost a year) to get every video completed just because life happened, but it was amazing how much came back to me after going back through my footage.
Another great video! Ha, I kept this one off to the side to watch during a 1 hr basement training bike session... looking forward to the rest of your tour.....
all i can say is Wow..i have been scoping out and dreaming about Idaho for a while..video quality is excellent..can i ask what format on the gopro? 4k? narrow? you can see the inclines and steepness so good.. struggling with mine... you make everything look so easy, and i know how hard that is... oh and your bike sounds so good, i have a 2020 6days, never heard you say anything much bout your bike, it ran so good.. Top of the Bill brother, what a life accomplishment... Congratulations!
I'm glad you have enjoyed the videos. I admit.....I really really miss this. I was using a GoPro 7 in 1080p by 60 fps in Wide mode. As for the bike, it was a 2018 500EXC. I had an FMF Q4 exhaust, and a JD Jetting piggy back tuner (I didn't spend the money on a full new ECU) and reed cage removed. Suspension was stock aside from re-spring it for my weight and additional cargo. Bike ran great the entire trip an I averaged about 40mpg but could eek out up to 50 if I was being really conservative on road sections. I geared down a bit with a 50 tooth on the rear and it was a good compromise for the diversity of riding on the Tour.
@@ridewithmike962 Thanks... I thoroughly enjoyed all 10 vids.. that day 8 stuff woulda killed me.. i really appreciate your no fear get to the end approach...and you must think like "the original trail makers" we can find a way... Just Amazing.. hope you do some other states? maybe Colorado?
My 9 year old boy and I have been watching each of your videos together with high hopes to ride most of these trails together one day - or better yet, to complete the Tour as a father/son team. Thank you very much for the time and effort it took to post these. Question: fully loaded with fuel, tank bag, etc, I'm curious what each of your bikes weighed?
You just made my entire day. I have 3 sons that ride. Anytime I get to ride with them is the best. I'd love to do the Tour of Idaho with them. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. As for weight, I don't have an exact number. Dry weight of my 500 is about 235 pounds. I had a 4.2 gallon tank (so another 35 pounds or so), some other accessories like stabilizer, handguards, etc. Then I had Mojave bags with about 15-20 pounds of gear, and on some days I carried an extra 2 gallons of gas. I would estimate between 275-290'ish when fully loaded, and lighter by 20-30 pounds depending on how much gas I was carrying.
Wow! This series has been one of the best dirtbike adventures I’ve ever seen. Great riding, great landscape, and tons of grit and determination. Skills for days both on and off the bike . You sirs take a bow. Well done and congratulations!! Can’t wait to see the next one. Thank you
No Rekluse....just the stock clutch. 14/50 gearing (14/45 is stock). My 500 is an '18 and my buddy's was a '20. He ran 14/52. I think his was just about perfect in the super gnarly, but any road transfer sections he would run out of gearing quick. 2nd gear is magical on these bikes and most of the gnarly stuff I would still ride in 2nd, except super gnarly.
Matt is correct. It's the Mosko Moto Pico tank bag. I bought it specifically to get my phone off my bars. It's very small and out of the way and worked well for what I bought it for....just don't plan to stuff a lot in it :)

Been waiting for a new one! Thank you!
Thanks for being patient. More to come.

Glad you are enjoying them.
We froze that morning as well!
Yep....it was deceptively cool in some of those valleys. But we were very fortunate the rest of our Tour to have great weather.
Looking forward to the rest! Are you running a Rekluse and what gearing?

What tank bag are you using? I can't seem to figure it out.
That's the Mosko Moto Pico tank bag with the navigator pocket
