Welcome Inn pub Sydney..early 70s, my girlfriend n we used to hitch-hike frm Villawood just to b in that tiny pub with u guys playing..great memories 😊

It may not be the Bondi Cigars... (Lord, please save us from those who falsely claim to be eastern suburbs tobacco products)...but sure is a good line-up. This is Australian blues. Precious. Unique.
FYI "Bondi cigars" was the old slang term for the sewerage outfall "products" that surfers could encounter @ Bondi Beach before the pipe was extended further into the ocean maybe early 80's. Hence the crafty name which understandably would not be understood by those not in the know or too young to know.
Like the BC, and have several CDs by them; BUT ... 1. they are more R&B i think. 2. definitely NOT the best blues band in AU by a long shot. The best in AU by far are the Backsliders, followed by Mighty Reapers, Hippos, Blind Freddy (Linda Hansen was the best blues singer/voice in AU, and now she works in a NFP instead. Her Voodoo Child is just amazing.), and little known band (now defunct) Pale Riders. and personally i really enjoy Mal Eastick more than BC. And i should prob give a shout-out for Lil' Fi (and Delta Rthym Kings), Whose Muddy Shoes, and the Blues Preachers.
Shane Pacy is awesome....& Eben, the other guitarist is just a clone of Shanes' style, not very original....don't get me wrong he is a great player for sure, just needs his own tone & style.
They are kindered spirits, Eben was no doubt chosen to join the band for this reason, hell of a nice guy, I've shared many stages with them, more recently last year.
@@DeanWuksta me too mate - but it wasn't the Cigars - it was the Shane Pacey Trio. Had a chat to the band afterwards. Love Shane Pacey Blues - he's a Genius !
Les Skarsky-("car-keys")guitar, Ace Follington drums, Shane pacey guitar/vocals, Alan Britton bass, was THE original line up-then Les & Ace departed, but this IS still the "Bondi Cigars" !
It's the same 4 members I saw back in 1998 at The Charles Hotel in Perth. They played for 2 hours and didn't take a break. Top stuff! Wow, 19 years goes so fast.
Apologies for my mistaken spelling- my keyboard sstutterss occasionally ! Yes Les Karski, great presence & unfortunately no longer with the band, but we are talking of over a decade now ? and the band still has the name Bondi Cigars although technically they are "Half a Bondi Cigar" I suppose. Look, any band that works as hard & plays as well as these guys has my respect so benicecunt o.k. I think the Rolling Stones aren't the Stones without Brian Jones or even Mick Taylor, but there's a bunch of guys still playing under that name, that's just the way it goes.
First time I saw this gentle giant roebuck beer garden broome w.a .going back yrs fell in love in his talent as a guitars still do howling at the moon
Best blues rock band ever 💯 🤙 Bondi cigars love em xxxxx

Outback Al tone and style are completely different
They are kindered spirits, Eben was no doubt chosen to join the band for this reason, hell of a nice guy, I've shared many stages with them, more recently last year.
In my opinion - Shane is the best Bluesman on earth ! Met him yesterday at Bridgy Blues 2018 !
Leo Van Vliet I caught their set at the blue owls nest on sat at Bridgetown 2018 with Les Karski

Two lefties.

This is not the bondi cigars.
