If I may say: In my kit I have a camping stove fuel bottle 0,5 litr. Made of metal, solid and leakproof. (Of course you know the type). Fuel for emergencies and gives me about 10km extra range.(17ltr main tank). Take care Lj

You covered some serious mileage on that beast. How did you find the riding position for a long tour? Its a full on sports bike, were u sore at the end of a full day of riding?
I've just bought one and am considering a tour across Europe on it. But not sure if its the right bike to do it on....

Honestly, it wasn't too bad. I covered a minimum 1000km per day on it. I was able to find myself a good riding position and was listening to music all the time, so the miles went pretty nicely. Day 3 i started to get a little soreness in my neck. And when i felt a bit soreness, i usually stopped for a while and did a little stretching and continued onwards.
The riding position depends a lot on the bike as well. For me, the S1000RR was pretty good and i'm 187cm tall :)

@@SeeMeRiding thats awesome. I decided to buy a 2018 model and give it a try. I rode her once for an hour and sent her straight back to the dealership 😀. She was far too uncomfortable for me. My lower back and neck started to ache after about 30 minutes and I thought this isn't for me. I'd never be able to do long missions. So I've replaced her with an XR 😀😀😀. She comes this week and I cant wait.

what tank bag is that if you dont mind? and did the tank bag make the ride more bearable (since you had something to lean on)

It was from Biltema. Quite a cheap one. I bought it when i had my Gixxer 600. Only problem with the BMW, was that the bag had magnets to hold it in place on the tank, but the BMW's tank is aluminium, so i had to strap it round the frame. i Didn't really lean on the bag itself. I mostly used the tank bag for quick access of my wallet, kept my phone there so i knew where i was going and had my earplugs connected, so i could listen to music.

@@SeeMeRiding Thank you so much for taking your time to reply, it doesnt seem like a bad tank bag if you ask me and about the problem with bag not attaching to the tank of the BMW, its something that i always hear and its a shame, would've thought you used it for leaning onto during the trip.
Oh also something else since you owned a GSXR 600 too, what year was the GSXR and how is the comfort compared to the BMW, do you think a trip like this would be possible on it? I understand that the GSXR doesnt have cruise control and heated grip unlike the BMW but those are things i can add on.

@@6kbps It was a 2008 model. Comfort wise, the BMW is easily the better choice. Not that the Gixxer is bad, but since the BMW has those comforts you mentioned, plus a semi active suspension and the pegs are quite high, which i personally prefer. I didn't get to do really long distance road trips with the Gixxer, most was about 300 km in one day.
