I honestly laughs and thinking blue noah mistake for myself, that is opening a BIG hangar disguised as a wing in a middle of a battle with over 900 enemy ships and maybe over 6000 emigrant vessels. Maybe blue noah can't fire its weapon since blue noah focusing on the hangar or thats what happen if they choosed to open the hangar. I think the idea of a UN defense force is in keeping with the Star Blazers history, of Earth uniting in the face of the Gamalon threat and then as a Star Fleet through the series. It also avoids a political issue of the Space Military being an All-Japanese one, with it being an All-Earth force for Defensive use only.
I love how a random Dreadnought is the ship that deals the most damage to the alien fleet. It would've been more logical narratively and less insulting to Yuki if it had been the Super Andromeda, but EDF ships without main characters on it doing cool things is rare, so that's nice.
I think that the BN probably did manage to get a lot more kills, we just didn't see it. In my mind the shocks zapped three four, even five ships in a row before stopping. That and the missiles usually got a kill every two hits or so...

Quite a lot of refugees yea, but idk how many of these transports are lost. And considering the scale here, we can assume each of these transports is about the size or a modern cruise ship if not somewhat bigger, each with a few thousand people on board.

The designs do not feel right, the story was poor, they didnt use the fabulous, distinctive classic sound effects, and halfway through, they stopped using Yamato music (or original music) to use stock classical music. Quantum Leap if they would do that placing some turrets they would lose space for civilians, if you think of it clearly if they were to add weapons you would need to build a large compartment to place in the turrets, then you would be using energy that could have been used for the ship movement. You also need to man more crew members to man the weapons. Also these are civilian evacuation ships if they were to be shown having weapons on board they would obviously look more like a invasion craft instead of a civilian ship

Well, they didn’t have the luck of Captain Okita or his skills. A good ship is a ship that has a good captain and crew. They were lacking in skill and you are right Blue Noah is a joke

The enemy was brilliant by sending out only one type of ship first then surprising the enemy that they have another fleet awaiting for them to throw of their information. However they made a grand mistake of doing so as their “trap” backfired and they revealed it by which point do they appear and attack. The Yamato had brilliant minds on board, Kodai is probably the oldest and the most experienced captain in the entire fleet. Facing off against almost every threat imaginable, also why do you think Yamato is the only that can stop the Aliens? She is only as good if her allies and crew are good as well. She needed help to bring down multiple enemies in the past. She needed help then and she needs help now. The Yamato is not invincible (third bridge meme) as she has been known to be extremely damaged. The Yamato in 2199 has been shown that when she receives damage she’s vulnerable during times of repair as sometimes it takes weeks to repair or months. Alien crews are mostly boastful people and prideful so they are easily idiots

During the 2199 they tell us how many days go past for each episode and each passing episode the Yamato has been repaired this is due to a time skip of each episode. I liked the movie as a whole but when the Andromeda got ready with the rest of the fleet at saturn to fire there wave motion guns they where in an almost flawless formation but here that battleship just fire its WMG out of nowhere and there is a design flaw for all the other ships even yamato cause they really need a lower gun deck i know i'm just ranting but still .
Doesn't that command ship have a wave motion gun? If they have soo much firepower there why bother rebuilding the Yamato? I heard that in Japan Nudity is used to represent innocence and purity. So they might be saying that girl was pure when she died or innocent of any wrongdoing.
Talking with the Alien races is a much preferable method. Also, why not have vessels that literally have energy shields and weapons that have a very fast rate of fire to compensate for the vessels with very powerful weapons.

Yamato not upgraded (a few more AA turrets ain't gonna save you from modern space missiles... or swords, whatever)
First of all the sword you say actually didnt exist but pretty cool explanations... Imagine if the entire human destroying and devastated the entire mercury and asteroids in asteroid belt and kuiper belt, sheeshh... The sword you say actually exist in 2202 and 2205 (maybe, cuz i didn't watch) The sword looks similar to japanese... Of course you know what is it so yeah... No need to tell. I mean what the sword does to the ships :)
They were travelling towards an uninhabited planet and never had contact with these species. In short, the xenos fleet ambushed the fleet with a superior force in believing that the colony ships were to conquer other worlds when that isn't the case. If there was anyone that can do better, it would be the UNSC from Halo because the alien ships are small and with tens of thousands of missiles from a UNSC Fleet, they can devastate them red boys easily if they don't have good accuracy.
most of the human ships where civilian transport ships, and most of the human warships where over whelmed. in numbers it was equal, but for actual warships it was 1-20 so the humans got fuckled

Yeah the battle choreography was the simplest possible thing, and the cinematography was almost as basic. Pretty to look at, but also boring as hell.

良くも悪くもヤマトらしさを濃縮したような作品。自分は凄く好きだけどなそういうところ。
今見るとリメイクシリーズのデスラーの声優は復活編の古代だし、復活編のネタをリメイクに流用してる部分も多くて感慨深いものがある。

lightning9 what do you mean magically repaired? Those were the old anime, the Yamato does get repairs and it takes months or weeks. During the 2199 they tell us how many days go past for each episode and each passing episode the Yamato has been repaired this is due to a time skip of each episode. I liked the movie as a whole but when the Andromeda got ready with the rest of the fleet at saturn to fire there wave motion guns they where in an almost flawless formation but here that battleship just fire its WMG out of nowhere and there is a design flaw for all the other ships even yamato cause they really need a lower gun deck i know i'm just ranting but still .

Also, why not have vessels that literally have energy shields and weapons that have a very fast rate of fire to compensate for the vessels with very powerful weapons.

Can't believe Yamato 2202 repeated the same mistakes:
1. bad CGI effects (won't blame this one coz it's old; plz explain those red rhombi and blue circles)
2. unpractical ship designs (that hanger is clearly brought into 2202 carriers; you're in space, mate, just open the hanger bay and let the fighters drift out)
3. large battles with huge fleets (like c'mon, shipbuilding can be fast but resources aren't unlimited nor free...)
4. Yamato not upgraded (a few more AA turrets ain't gonna save you from modern space missiles... or swords, whatever)
First of all the sword you say actually didnt exist but pretty cool explanations... Imagine if the entire human destroying and devastated the entire mercury and asteroids in asteroid belt and kuiper belt, sheeshh...

They were travelling towards an uninhabited planet and never had contact with these species.
In short, the xenos fleet ambushed the fleet with a superior force in believing that the colony ships were to conquer other worlds when that isn't the case.
If there was anyone that can do better, it would be the UNSC from Halo because the alien ships are small and with tens of thousands of missiles from a UNSC Fleet, they can devastate them red boys easily if they don't have good accuracy.

だから拡散波動砲を撃った艦は、ワープできなくなるのを覚悟で撃ったんだと思う。

護衛艦ことスーパーアンドロメダ級戦艦とドレッドノート級戦艦。なんで日本の駆逐艦の名前なのだ？一応「きりしま」はあったし「ドレッドノート」「スーパーアンドロメダ」もいるはず(ネームシップだから)。宇宙戦艦ヤマトの艦艇って日本由来の名前が多すぎ。(2202で大分まともになったが)
ドレットノートはさらばに出てきてるからドレットノートはいないと思います。
