How much was the Tread LT when it was available on Leatherman USA? How much would you pay for it now if it's available through second hand (colleague of mine), is there a way to check if it's real or fake? @CircuitsAndStrings
When the Tread LT was brand new, they retailed for around $200. Eventually they went on sale for around $120, then clearance for about $90. For a used one, I probably won’t want to pay more than $80. (Or around there) Of course, there are a lot of fake ones out there. But most seem to be the normal sized ones, not the thinner LT version. To see if it is real, look for the Leatherman logo on the smaller half link, inspect the scribe, and look at the screws. There are some good UA-cam videos and Reddit post on spotting fakes.
What are the differences? Is the LT different anyway? Are the links smaller the spaces in between the links different? Are the tools included different I don't want to have to buy both and see the paperwork inside to tell which one is best for me.
The links are the same length and the connecting links are the same, but the links are narrower on the Tread LT. The Tread LT is a little lighter, and a little sleeker. Unless you are concerned about weight or have a small wrist, I'd go with a normal Tread. If you need Torx or Pozi-driv bits, look at the Tread LT or Tread Metric.
Ok i got the tread lt for a gift i had no fucking idea it was so expensive $175 worth i nearly shit my brain when my moms boyfriend gave it to me as a gift
@@CircuitsAndStrings the finish isn't all that great but works just like the leatherman. I'm not all that concerned about it looking pretty. I'm sure I'll make it look 5 years old in 3 months.
Sad that Leatherman discontinued the Tread and the LT. I had the Tread, and was aiming to purchase an LT, but was just too late to get one :(
They are a really cool tool. I take mine everywhere.
What? I can litterally buy an LT all kinds of places on the internet?
@rasmuspedersen3563 Since Leatherman is no longer making Treads, the only ones available now are on the secondary market or fakes.
@@CircuitsAndStrings The Leatherman homepage has them? O_o
Edit: The european Leatherman site has them.
Awesome review! Thank you! This helped me make a decision between buying the leatherman tread lt/regular
Thanks. Which one did you end up getting?
@@CircuitsAndStrings The LT version 😊
Awesome.
Formal events he said 😂
the link adapter tool is $59, & the Tread / LT is also $59.98, which 1 would you like to get?
If you want a Tread, get one before they sell out. And there are places to get watch adapters for around $15.
Is Leatherman link still in business? I can’t seem to find them as an option for my Apple Watch to adapt for my Leatherman tread.
That link doesn’t seem to be working anymore.
Here’s another company:

They're not making the Lt anymore

Is it compatible with g-shock?
It looks like it can work with some G-Shock watches.

Is the size customizable?
Links can be removed to make it smaller. I think I removed three links to fit my wrist.
You've got half a dozen screwdrivers right there on your wrist and you use a penny.
Funny enough, a penny is what they mention on the website. The Tread does have flathead screwdrivers, but they are connected to the bracelet.
Hmm...those look cool, I like the original one.

It sounds like your mom’s boyfriend hooked you up. Enjoy it.
You should remove the link in your description, it brings me to a massive ad and malware site from some Asian country
Thanks for letting me know. The description has been updated and the link removed.
If you don't want to pay a lot of money for a leatherman you can get a knock off on eBay for under $30.
Have you tried out one of the knock off Leatherman Treads? I am thinking about getting one to do a comparison.

What color did you get? Stainless or black?
@@CircuitsAndStrings they are priced at $26.00 with free shipping so I got both :)
Haha. Nice. 😀
