The video discusses the concept of impossible existences in theology: The concept of an impossible existence refers to something that contradicts its own nature or being. KeyPoints: Hijab explains that the idea of a rock so heavy that God cannot lift it is considered an impossible existence. This discussion is related to modal categories, which include contingent and necessary existences. Hijab argues that God's attributes, such as omniscience and omnipotence, are necessary and cannot be contradicted. The ontological status of created things is possible in themselves but necessary in connection with something else, such as God's will. Important Definitions: 1. Impossible Existence: A concept that contradicts its own nature or being. Explanation: Something that cannot exist by its very definition, like a squared circle. 2. Contingent Existence: An existence that can be true or false depending on circumstances. Explanation: Things that rely on conditions or facts to be true. 3. Necessary Existence: An existence that must be true under all circumstances. Explanation: Truths or realities that are inherent and cannot be denied. 4. Modal Categories: Classes of existences based on their necessity or contingency. Explanation: A way of categorizing things as necessary, contingent, or impossible Analogy: The concept of an impossible existence is like trying to square a circle - it sounds like a mathematical problem, but ultimately, it's a nonsense statement that can't be logically or meaningfully resolved. Just because we can say the words doesn't mean they have any coherent or meaningful content.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:09 🧐 This session focuses on discussing the proofs of God's existence, starting with the recitation of a poem and an explanation. 02:04 📜 This series will cover various contingency arguments, including cosmological and ontological arguments, to prove God's existence. 03:17 🤝 The use of philosophy in Islamic discussions is not about changing the religion but primarily to bring people to Islam and deconstruct unIslamic ideas. 07:30 🧒 Children are born with an instinct to believe in a higher power, which is a natural inclination, but this instinct alone is not a demonstrative proof of God's existence. 12:55 🌌 The universe did not come from nothing, and it did not create itself, suggesting the existence of an ultimate, independent cause. 18:07 📚 The speaker has specialized in contingency arguments for God's existence, and the course will include discussions on objections and role-playing debates. 22:34 📜 Avicenna, although influenced by Aristotle, didn't accept the full paradigm of Aristotelian logic and went beyond it. 25:56 📚 The primary source materials for Ibn Sina's arguments for God's existence are the books "Najet," "Ishifa," and "Pointers and Reminders." 26:27 🤔 Ibn Sina's argument begins with the assertion that there is no doubt about the existence of something. 28:34 🔄 Ibn Sina argues that everything that exists is either contingent (needing something else to exist) or necessary (self-sufficient and independent). 30:19 🧮 Ibn Sina uses set theory to illustrate his argument, emphasizing that a set of contingent things cannot include necessary things. 37:38 🌌 Ibn Sina's argument refutes the idea of an infinite series of contingent existences, leading to the necessity of a necessary existence (God) to explain them. 42:11 📖 This argument, called "Burhan al-Siddiqin," has never been packaged for apologetic purposes in the philosophy of religion until now. 44:13 🔄 Differentiated and dependent members within a finite or infinite series of contingent existences indicate that the series itself must be contingent, necessitating a necessary existence to explain it. 45:14 🌌 When countering the claim that the universe or multiverse could be all that exists, one can argue that these are sets of contingencies, and the presence of contingent elements requires a necessary existence to explain them. 46:00 🧩 If someone claims the universe is contingent or all that exists, it implies dependence on something else, contradicting the idea of self-sufficiency. 48:14 🌌 Saying an infinite multiverse depends on itself grants it godly qualities, but it's impossible for a set of more than one thing to be independent. 49:27 🧩 Anything made up of parts is contingent, and an infinite multiverse made of parts would also be dependent. 50:51 💡 Ibn Sina's composition argument asserts that anything composed of parts is dependent, and if parts can be rearranged, it's contingent. 53:16 🌌 The argument counters determinism, explaining that in abstraction, something can be necessary while having generatable and destructible aspects. 54:53 🤔 Anything generatable and destructible, like the universe, is contingent, not necessary. 55:24 🤯 Existence that transitions from non-existence is generatable and destructible, indicating contingency. 57:23 🌌 The universe's existence can be approached ontologically (in the mind) or cosmologically (empirically), both leading to the conclusion of contingency. 59:03 🌌 Pantheists who claim the universe lacks parts should clarify their definition of "part" and its correspondence with established definitions. 01:03:11 🌌 Arguing that the universe isn't made up of parts contradicts meteorological understanding, where parts differentiate and compose wholes. 01:05:03 🤯 Ibn Sina's argument highlights that if two necessary beings are differentiated, one must know the existence of the other, implying contingency, not necessity. 01:08:14 🌌 Different types of sets (linear, circular, finite, infinite) present varying causal relationships, with linear sets having a clear primary cause. Circular causality (A causes B, B causes C, and C causes A) is impossible. 01:09:02 🧠 Avicenna argues against the possibility of circular causation, where something causes itself, deeming it logically impossible. 01:10:00 🔄 Avicenna distinguishes between finite sets, including linear (A causes B, B causes C) and circular (A causes B, B equals A, C causes A), showing the impossibility of circular causation. 01:10:26 🔄 Avicenna transitions to discussing infinite sets, asserting that an infinite regress of causes is impossible, which differentiates his view from Al-Ghazali. 01:11:36 🔄 Avicenna argues that even if you assume an infinite regress of contingent things, they would still be contingent because they are composed of different parts, making them contingent. 01:12:45 🌌 Avicenna's composition argument highlights the importance of composition in this discussion, stating that if something is composed of contingent parts, it remains contingent, even in an infinite regress scenario. 01:28:15 🤔 Avicenna addresses questions about the necessary will of God, explaining that God's choices are based on His perfect knowledge, making them necessary and not contradictory to His intrinsic attributes. 01:30:35 🪨 Avicenna refutes the notion of creating a rock so heavy that God can't lift it, highlighting that such questions involve impossible existences and are logically meaningless. i have to say my man you are good spoke person for Islam very knowledgeable, Islam Needs you or i should say people in search of islam knowledge need you...
I don't think using Quran verses to invite non Muslims to Islam is circular reasoning. Many Quran verses tells the reader to ponder over the creation (alternation of days and night, design of camel) and think about the purpose of creation. No one needs to "believe in the Quran" in order to reflect on these verses as they are intriguing questions and not a matter of "blind faith". Thus, there is no circular reasoning here.
It is not as simple as that. If you ask a scientism believer to ponder, he will give you different possible theories to explain the existence of all these natural phenomena. You will need to build a solid valid argument to lead the discussion towards Islamic answer and philosophy will come in handy. I don't see how you can give dawa to people in a different field of study without first understanding their way of thinking and in the West, philosophy is very important.

It highlights water as fundamental to life, aligning with scientific theories on the early universe and the role of water in biological systems. Iron from Space Verse: "And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people." (Quran 57:25) Explanation: This verse suggests the celestial origin of iron, possibly referring to the fact that heavy elements like iron are formed in supernova explosions and then brought to Earth through celestial events. Life on Earth from Water Verse: "And We made from water every living thing. Then will they not believe?" Sky as a Protective Sealing Verse: "And We made the sky a protective ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away." (Quran 21:32) Explanation: This verse could be understood to refer to the Earth's atmosphere, which shields life on Earth from harmful cosmic rays and provides a protective barrier.
43:00 I would like to add that the 'Burhaan Asiddiqien' has been used for apologetic purposes in Arabic. For example Adnan Ibrahim did a whole khutbah on it 5 years ago. Perhaps you are the first in English.
Regarding it being impossible for Allah to do something that is meaningful or goes against his attributes i heard a lecture in Arabic subhanallah that for every time Allah sais to the prophet if they want to do this then Allah will do this and mentions a specific action for e.g surah nisa 142 it states "the hypocrites try to fool you and Allah is fooling them and other verses that mention ", they plan and Allah plans" ,they are fighting you and Allah is fighting them etc, now this is consistent throughout the Qur'an except for 1 verse in surat anfal 71 Allah states "if they want to betray you then they tried to betray Allah in the past and he gave you Mohammed power over them. Notice why Allah didn't mention here "he betrayed them" the word in Arabic is khiyana unlike all other verses subhanallah because betrayal goes against Allah's attributes. Very clear how precise and suttle the Qur'an is
what makes one thing with perfect ease and order, and makes everything one thing skilfully with perfect balance and order, is a stamp particular to the Maker of everything and a seal special to the Creator of All Things.

6:00 there is ikhtilaf on this, but the correct and rajih chosen position in the books of Ash'aris is ma3rifa of Allah not Nadhar (knowing his attributes and actions and what's permissible, impermissible, and necessary in His right)
@1:27:00 mark Summary of Hijab's claim: God's will never changes (ie can only choose the best) because it is in accordance with His perfect knowledge (of what happens in creation). But this leads to circularity as what happens in creation is chosen by God's will according to Athari creed. The will of God chooses, the creation follows in accord. Another problem, Hijab's account makes God's knowledge logically and metaphysically dependent upon. the actions of creatures. So are God's will and knowledge dependent in some way on creaturely actions, Muhammad Hijab?

@@nbarr318 OK, I understands a pizza cut into 8 slices, if you remove all 8 slices the pizza loses it's entire existence. What I can't get past is that if you remove 1-7 slices, the pizza still exists, albeit in a diminished form. Likewise, my body has parts, such as my limbs. If (God forbid) I lose an arm, I still have a physical / material existence. Therefore my existence as a person does not depend on the existence of each of my parts, you can remove some of them without removing me. If you remove some galaxies, the universe still has possible existance. This is what I'm trying to understand regarding dependence on parts. Thank you for being patient with me.
@@dawudqadri7295 No problem Inshallah. There are two ways of looking at it: 1. The universe is dependent upon of its parts together, not any individual parts in particular. E.g even if the pizza does not rely on slice 8, or slice 1, or slice 5, it relies on all of those slices together, because when you remove all of them, there is no pizza. 2. "If you remove some galaxies, the universe still exists" Actually, not necessarily. Depends how you define 'sameness'. From a purely physical perspective, if there is any difference whatsoever between A and B, then they are not the same thing. E.g if our Universe 'A' has 100 galaxies, and potential Universe 'B' has 101 galaxies, then A and B are not the same universe. In that sense, the existence of the universe depends upon the existence of every single individual part as well. If the colour of your eyes were different, it would be a different universe. This is consistent with how atheists understand the infinite multiverse. You are correct that even if you lose a leg, you are still the same person. However, that is because you are not only physical. You are physical + spiritual. You are the same person with and without a leg because in both cases you have the same unchanging soul.

Hi. I would like to know why or how the PSR (principle sufficient Reason ) is true. Why do contingent existence need and explanation. This is the only part of the argument I Don't understand.
I highly disagree that we can't use the Quran to debate people who don't believe in the Outan. The Quran constantly uses rational arguments that any rational person can comprehend and submit to. Saying that these Quranic arguments are lacking and we need philosophy instead is deeply problematic. Philosophy is not revelation. It's not objectively true. No prophet used philosophical arguments instead of divine wisdom. We can use philosophy to enhance the Quranic arguments‚ not to replace them.
The Quranic argument is definitely enough to convince the rational reasonable people. However, there're people who argue for the sake of arguing. They're not looking for the truth, they're look for winning the argument. Philosophy is needed here to demolish everything they throw at you. Also, there're people who side and cheer whomever appears to be winning this back and forth , so It's important for the Muslims to be equipped to deal with people like that. "And certainly We have explained in this Quran every kind of example, and man is most of all given to contention" Quran 18:54
@@theoathman8188 I'd argue that if someone can't be convinced by the wisdom of revelation, then no man-made philosophy can make him reconsider. I'm not against using philosophy, I'm just against seeing it as an alternative to Quranic wisdom. Philosophy should be used as a last option, never the starting point. And it should be used as a way to enhance and highlight the Quranic rational arguments (and we should never use philosophical arguments that have no basis in the wisdom of revelation). That's how all the prophets and all their companions preached to people. And none of us can be better at D'awah than them.
I was greatly inspired by this argument but unfortunately there are some questions which cannot be answered through it and I've seen MH fail to answer some of those questions as well.
A question to the presented Argument. A physicist might say that basically nothing in the universe is destructable, since even the most thourough destruction would only mean that you exchanged the matter into energy. Would you then argue that since the universe can be ordered in a different way or conceived in a different way it still cant be necesarry ?
@House Of Judah I bear witness that noone/nothing is worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammed is His servant and messenger (Ash-hadu anna la ilaha illa Allah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammad abduhu wa rassuluh).
is it fair to say that Ibn Sina/ Avicenna was not a muslim? The way M.Hijab described him around 19:00, just makes it seem like Ibn Sina was a cultural muslim but lavished in the TOTAL opposite of the Islamic teaching without any remorse. So why do we say he was a muslim scholar? (have heard from quite a few mouths)
I wouldn't say it's fair to make such an accusation. Yes, he may have participated in impious activities, but this was only documented for a part of his life, we're unaware for the most part. Anyway, Ibn Sina had memorised the Qur'an by age 10, produced the contingency argument and was never documented to ever struggle with his faith. He was even critical to people like Al-Razi on his methods. End of the day, only Allah knows what is in his heart. But from a superficial standpoint, he seemed to be devout for most of his life.
@@fbngI don’t know why but contingency argument is actually very strong to prove that something created everything and itself was Eternal and All powerful. Other things are in debate. The Argument from Necessary Being 1. Contingency and Necessary Existence 1. Premise 1: Contingent Beings Exist • Contingent beings are those that could either exist or not exist. Their existence depends on external factors. Examples include humans, animals, and physical objects. 2. Premise 2: Every Contingent Being Requires an Explanation for its Existence • The existence of each contingent being must be explained either by another contingent being or by a necessary being. 3. Premise 3: The Collection of All Contingent Beings Cannot be Self-Explanatory • The universe, composed of contingent beings, cannot explain its own existence. An infinite regress of contingent explanations is insufficient because it fails to account for the existence of the whole series. 4. Premise 4: Therefore, There Must Be a Necessary Being that Explains the Existence of Contingent Beings • This necessary being exists by the necessity of its own nature. It does not depend on anything else for its existence. 2. Attributes of the Necessary Being 5. Eternality • A necessary being must be eternal because it cannot come into or go out of existence. Its existence is uncaused and without beginning or end. 6. Self-Existence • The necessary being exists independently of anything else. It does not derive its existence from anything external. 7. Omnipotence • The necessary being must be omnipotent (all-powerful) to account for the existence of the universe and everything within it. Only an omnipotent being could create and sustain all contingent beings. 8. Free Will • The necessary being must have free will to choose to create the universe. A deterministic or impersonal cause cannot account for the contingent nature of the universe’s existence. 3. Identification with the Islamic Concept of God (Allah) 9. Tawhid (Oneness of God) • The Islamic concept of God emphasizes absolute monotheism. The necessary being must be one, as the existence of more than one necessary being would lead to contradictions (e.g., limits on power). 10. Allah’s Attributes in Islam • Eternal (Al-Baqi): Allah is everlasting, without beginning or end. • Self-Existing (Al-Qayyum): Allah sustains Himself and everything else. • Omnipotent (Al-Qadir): Allah has complete power over all things. • Willful Creator (Al-Khaliq): Allah creates and ordains with intention and purpose. Addressing Common Atheist Objections Objection 1: Denial of the Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR) Response: • The PSR is a fundamental principle of rational inquiry. Without it, the basis for scientific and philosophical investigation collapses. Denying the PSR leads to an arbitrary worldview where explanations for existence are unnecessary. Objection 2: The Universe as a Necessary Being Response: • The universe displays contingency through its physical constants and laws, which could be otherwise. Therefore, it cannot be a necessary being. Moreover, cosmological evidence (e.g., the Big Bang theory) suggests the universe had a beginning, indicating it is not eternal. Objection 3: Infinite Regress of Contingent Causes Response: • An infinite regress does not provide a sufficient explanation for the existence of the series itself. Philosophical arguments and the Borde-Guth-Vilenkin theorem support the impossibility of an infinite regress of past events, necessitating a first cause. Objection 4: Nature of the Necessary Being Response: • Abstract objects cannot cause anything. Natural laws describe patterns within the universe but do not cause the universe to exist. The necessary being must be a personal, powerful, and intentional creator, fitting the description of God in Islamic theology. Conclusion The Argument from Necessary Being provides a robust framework for demonstrating the existence of a God who is eternal, self-existing, omnipotent, and has free will. By addressing common objections, we reinforce the coherence and necessity of such a being. This necessary being aligns with the Islamic concept of Allah, affirming the attributes central to Islamic theology.
it is in deed hard to believe in anyting during this days, between conflicts of all kinds, enemies at every level in everyplace. justa about any organitation has gone berserk. Whats next.
@@hashimmohammed1794can’t we just say that everything that is created is contingent. Tell me is this argument fine though?
Premise 1: Something that is made of parts and if the parts can be rearranged, then it is contingent. Premise 2: Necessary things can't be rearranged. What if someone doesn't accept these premises? How do you rationalize those premises? Allah mentioned about his parts (face, hand, feet) in the Quran/Sunnah and He is an necessary existence. Explain please.
We don't say Allah's parts can be rearranged or that they are in any way shape or from similar to ours. But, i still dislike this argument even though it is solid, but it poses such issues in people and Allah and His Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gave us enough arguments. What you asked is a serious source of doubts thus it is not good to use this argument.
Well Allah mention about his parts , feet??? please quote quran verses you are mention(just quran verses that support your argument not hadiths ) because may be your are reading a metaphor ( i.e ALLAH IS SITTING ON THRONE) THIS IS METAPHOR people take this literally ,rather what is does imply that Allah is sitting on throne , who does sit on throne ? (king , ruler for your understanding ) who is king who is superior than everybody who rules and governs everything .Hence Allah does everything that take place in this whole universe and beyond that.
The thing is there are rational arguments in the Quran and those are the ones you want to make sure you use, rephrasing and expanding upon them while using others in addition, especially after they do the "ok then what do you believe" or they make the whataboutism move of saying the Quran/Islam has that problem/issue too. How about if I say it like this, the Quran is the fastest way to both deconstruct and bring them to Islam because it's the Quran that is deconstructing their belief. For example, "did they create themselves?" It questions the reader by putting their own mind against false beliefs, then one can realize that it's their creator that would know their mind/intellect and know the effects of posing such a statement, boom, decontruction and dawah all in one. Agree? Makes sense? One last point and one that perhaps Mohammed Hijab would agree with. Philosophy is mostly an English/Greek eurocentric enterprise and as such it has their markings on it so one should be very careful in/of that. Of course at the end of the day it's human logic that is doing the actual deconstruction so I get that.

How old will you be in heaven(both men and women) for eternity?.
Answer
The people of Paradise will enter Paradise in the most perfect and beautiful form, in the form of their father Adam (peace be upon him), whom Allaah created with His own hand and perfected his form and made his shape beautiful. Everyone who enters Paradise will be in the form of Adam. It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah created Adam in his form, sixty cubits tall… and everyone who enters Paradise will be in the form of Adam, sixty cubits tall…”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5873; Muslim, 7092
With regard to their ages, they will all enter Paradise at the age of strength and youth, thirty-three years old. It was narrated from Mu’aadh ibn Jabal that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The people of Paradise will enter Paradise hairless, beardless with their eyes anointed with kohl, aged thirty or thirty-three years.”
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2545. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 7928
It was also narrated by Ahmad (8505) from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him), with the words “thirty three years old”, with no doubt.

The video discusses the concept of impossible existences in theology:
The concept of an impossible existence refers to something that contradicts its own nature or being.
KeyPoints:
Hijab explains that the idea of a rock so heavy that God cannot lift it is considered an impossible existence.
This discussion is related to modal categories, which include contingent and necessary existences.
Hijab argues that God's attributes, such as omniscience and omnipotence, are necessary and cannot be contradicted.
The ontological status of created things is possible in themselves but necessary in connection with something else, such as
God's will.
Important Definitions:
Explanation: A way of categorizing things as necessary, contingent, or impossible
Analogy:
The concept of an impossible existence is like trying to square a circle - it sounds like a mathematical problem, but ultimately, it's a nonsense statement that can't be logically or meaningfully resolved. Just because we can say the words doesn't mean they have any coherent or meaningful content.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:09 🧐 This session focuses on discussing the proofs of God's existence, starting with the recitation of a poem and an explanation.
25:56 📚 The primary source materials for Ibn Sina's arguments for God's existence are the books "Najet," "Ishifa," and "Pointers and Reminders."
26:27 🤔 Ibn Sina's argument begins with the assertion that there is no doubt about the existence of something.

This should be a box set.
I think hijab was saying you cannot say "proof of the Quran being true is because Quran says x".
@@somedonny8466actually you can. But not miracles like all celestial bodies pray to Allah in a way humans can’t understand. It’s a miracle that science can’t prove, but if you don’t include these, Quran really don’t make any contradiction with science.

@@somedonny8466 Some Scientific Facts in Islam
Beginning of the Universe
Verse: "Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?" (Quran 21:30)
Explanation: This verse reinforces the concept of the universe originating from a singular point ("joined entity") and expanding thereafter. It highlights water as fundamental to life, aligning with scientific theories on the early universe and the role of water in biological systems.
Iron from Space
Verse: "And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people." (Quran 57:25)
Explanation: This verse suggests the celestial origin of iron, possibly referring to the fact that heavy elements like iron are formed in supernova explosions and then brought to Earth through celestial events.
Life on Earth from Water
Verse: "And We made from water every living thing. Then will they not believe?" (Quran 21:30)
Explanation: This verse indicates that water is essential for all living organisms, which is a scientifically recognized fact regarding the biochemical basis of life on Earth.
Shape of the Earth
Verse: "And the earth, moreover, He has made egg shaped (dahaha)." (Quran 79:30)
Explanation: The Arabic word "dahaha" refers to an ostrich's egg shape or an expanse. While the interpretation of this verse varies, some suggest it could imply the Earth’s spherical shape or its expansive nature.
Sky as a Protective Sealing
Verse: "And We made the sky a protective ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away." (Quran 21:32)
Explanation: This verse could be understood to refer to the Earth's atmosphere, which shields life on Earth from harmful cosmic rays and provides a protective barrier.

Summary of Hijab's claim: God's will never changes (ie can only choose the best) because it is in accordance with His perfect knowledge (of what happens in creation).

I have a question brothers :
In the light of the contingency argument how can we say that Allah isnt dependent on a human being. for instance we ahl sunnah agree that "Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His slave than a man who..." So Allah becomes happy because his slave repented doesn't that make Allah dependent?
Can anyone explain to me why a thing is dependent if it has parts, not based on generation / degeneration of parts, and not based on the parts maybe having accidents?
If a thing has parts, it is dependent upon its parts. Therefore, the thing is dependent.
@@nbarr318 Thank you so much for replying, and forgive my mental slowness, but why does it depend on those parts? I.e. what is the nature of that dependence? What refutes the counter position of "no it's not dependent on it's parts"?
Lool forward to your reply so I can have a solid understanding :)
@@dawudqadri7295 A whole is dependent upon its parts, because if no parts, then no whole.
For example, the universe is made of parts. If these parts suddenly cease to exist, the universe ceases to exist.
Therefore, the universe is dependent.
There are two ways of looking at it:
1. The universe is dependent upon of its parts together, not any individual parts in particular. E.g even if the pizza does not rely on slice 8, or slice 1, or slice 5, it relies on all of those slices together, because when you remove all of them, there is no pizza.
2. "If you remove some galaxies, the universe still exists"
Actually, not necessarily.
I think Islam is very beneficial religion especially for men ,I mean women also get benifits but As we all know Allah swt has favoured men over women ...walahi it is only way to get best of pleasures in heaven

And none of us can be better at D'awah than them.

is it fair to say that Ibn Sina/ Avicenna was not a muslim?
The Argument from Necessary Being
1. Contingency and Necessary Existence
1. Premise 1: Contingent Beings Exist
• Contingent beings are those that could either exist or not exist. Their existence depends on external factors. Examples include humans, animals, and physical objects.
2. Premise 2: Every Contingent Being Requires an Explanation for its Existence
• The existence of each contingent being must be explained either by another contingent being or by a necessary being.
3. Premise 3: The Collection of All Contingent Beings Cannot be Self-Explanatory
• The universe, composed of contingent beings, cannot explain its own existence. An infinite regress of contingent explanations is insufficient because it fails to account for the existence of the whole series.
4. Premise 4: Therefore, There Must Be a Necessary Being that Explains the Existence of Contingent Beings
• This necessary being exists by the necessity of its own nature. It does not depend on anything else for its existence.
2. Attributes of the Necessary Being
5. Eternality
• A necessary being must be eternal because it cannot come into or go out of existence. Its existence is uncaused and without beginning or end.
6. Self-Existence
• The necessary being exists independently of anything else. It does not derive its existence from anything external.
7. Omnipotence
• The necessary being must be omnipotent (all-powerful) to account for the existence of the universe and everything within it. Only an omnipotent being could create and sustain all contingent beings.
8. Free Will
• The necessary being must have free will to choose to create the universe. A deterministic or impersonal cause cannot account for the contingent nature of the universe’s existence.
3. Identification with the Islamic Concept of God (Allah)
9. Tawhid (Oneness of God)
• The Islamic concept of God emphasizes absolute monotheism. The necessary being must be one, as the existence of more than one necessary being would lead to contradictions (e.g., limits on power).
10. Allah’s Attributes in Islam
• Eternal (Al-Baqi): Allah is everlasting, without beginning or end.
• Self-Existing (Al-Qayyum): Allah sustains Himself and everything else.
• Omnipotent (Al-Qadir): Allah has complete power over all things.
• Willful Creator (Al-Khaliq): Allah creates and ordains with intention and purpose.
Addressing Common Atheist Objections
Objection 1: Denial of the Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR)
Response:
• The PSR is a fundamental principle of rational inquiry. Without it, the basis for scientific and philosophical investigation collapses. Denying the PSR leads to an arbitrary worldview where explanations for existence are unnecessary.
Objection 2: The Universe as a Necessary Being
Response:
• The universe displays contingency through its physical constants and laws, which could be otherwise. Therefore, it cannot be a necessary being. Moreover, cosmological evidence (e.g., the Big Bang theory) suggests the universe had a beginning, indicating it is not eternal.
Objection 3: Infinite Regress of Contingent Causes
Response:
• An infinite regress does not provide a sufficient explanation for the existence of the series itself. Philosophical arguments and the Borde-Guth-Vilenkin theorem support the impossibility of an infinite regress of past events, necessitating a first cause.
Objection 4: Nature of the Necessary Being
Response:
• Abstract objects cannot cause anything. Natural laws describe patterns within the universe but do not cause the universe to exist. The necessary being must be a personal, powerful, and intentional creator, fitting the description of God in Islamic theology.
Conclusion
The Argument from Necessary Being provides a robust framework for demonstrating the existence of a God who is eternal, self-existing, omnipotent, and has free will. By addressing common objections, we reinforce the coherence and necessity of such a being. This necessary being aligns with the Islamic concept of Allah, affirming the attributes central to Islamic theology.

I think by parts he meant it can be broken down further maybe? Like how a planet can be broken to rocks and rocks to grains of sand etc?
Scientifically universal matter is energy.
Well Allah mention about his parts , feet??? please quote quran verses you are mention(just quran verses that support your argument not hadiths )
because may be your are reading a metaphor ( i.e ALLAH IS SITTING ON THRONE) THIS IS METAPHOR people take this literally ,rather what is does imply that Allah is sitting on throne , who does sit on throne ? (king , ruler for your understanding ) who is king who is superior than everybody who rules and governs everything .Hence Allah does everything that take place in this whole universe and beyond that.
allah isnt made of parts and scholars dont say they are parts that make up allah
hope you get it
The thing is there are rational arguments in the Quran and those are the ones you want to make sure you use, rephrasing and expanding upon them while using others in addition, especially after they do the "ok then what do you believe" or they make the whataboutism move of saying the Quran/Islam has that problem/issue too.
Philosophy isn’t a Greek, English or Arab enterprise.
It is a human enterprise.
