My dad passed 13 days ago and every time I hear this song I think of him and that night then we listened to it at a park he always took me to when I was 8, him singing “you are everything and everything is you” to me. My mom told me that he adorned me and called me his “angel baby girl”. No one will ever replace the man who would literally do anything for me. I’m only 13 and he was my world and I was his. I love and miss you so dad.❤
I'm So very sorry sweetheart. And although I'm older than You are, I know that Pain that You are going through very well, and I never thought I would ever be Ok again. But I Am. And so will You. But you take all the time you need because these feelings that you're going through are very personal and just between You and your Dad. Just hope that if you need someone to talk with that you'll reach out to someone who cares and who would love to be there for You, and so let them be, if You need them to be (and for sure, your Mom). Know that there is One thing that will Never separate us, and that's Love. And Lena, once a Parent, "Always" a Parent. And so Speak to your Dad, about anything, and if you'd like even ask him to show You that he's there with You, and he Will show You! All You need to do is to be patient, and "Believe." Lastly, what a Most Beautiful Song You and your Mom have and that I believe was the Greatest and most beautiful Gift anyone could receive from their Dad. It'll be Ok Lena, and You will be OK too, and.. so will your Mom. Just give it time. And remember, "Believe.." ❤️ 🙏

Hell yeah. The meaning, the emotion. We've all been there. The person who we fell for so hard nothing in our life mattered but them. Are they ever worthy?
The Stylistics and Delphonics gave me some of my best music memories growing up. I’m just a little white girl but that Philadelphia Soul was and still is magical. Love it so much.

Nothing brightens my day like Motown sounds. I've been in a deep funk for three days but now I think I'll be fine. I'm 68 and I grew up with these sounds
This is The Sound of Philadelphia. I definitely agree with you about this music whether it's Motown, Philadelphia International, Stax, Atlantic, etc etc!
I grew up on this kind of music. My mom passed away on February 28th, 2014. Shortly after she passed away, I saw a lady who looked exactly like my mom and I wanted so badly to walk over and hug this lady so tight. I started crying and this song was playing in my head. So whenever I jear this song, it makes me think of her. Almost 9 years and I miss her so much.

This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life. I love these guys. It gives me chills and makes me cry every time I hear it. I'm a man, and no...I'm not a wimp for admitting that.
One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. Cuts me deep in my heart and to the depths of my soul. First heard this in the early 90’s on The Wonder Years. Kevin and Winnie dancing together after being mad at each other all night on they’re seperate dates and then making up with a magic moment and this song made it happen.
I may be wrong, but I seem to remember Kevin and Winnie looking for each other on the dance floor, while this song played. But, they don't see each other and the episode ends... Am I crazy? 🤔

Feb 10, 2020: I dedicate this song to my first boyfriend and the true love of my life, Sgt Manuel R. Martinez of Albuquerque. Manuel, 23, was killed in an auto accident on Aug 22, 1975 south of Santa Fe. Returning to Albuquerque from a long work week at the Farmington mines, he rolled his 240Z Datsun. Manuel trained as a Marine at Camp Pendleton (radio operator), served a year in Okinawa and was a member of the VFW & Carpenters Union. Still in high school, we exchanged letters often. By the time I graduated, I knew I had fallen in love with him. Manuel graduated from West Mesa High School in 1970 and participated in track & field. Sadly, my mother did not like him and made our lives miserable. Then....he was gone. She laughed when she learned of his death, while mocking me for becoming hysterical. (I had a nervous breakdown and spent time in a psych ward.) Manuel's shy grin, warm heart, gentle spirit and strong work ethic were endearing traits to those of us who loved him. KATRINA *Bless the LORD, all His hosts, you servants who do His will. Psalm 103:21
I know it still hurts. Time doesn’t matter. This song also reminds me of my first love. The short version of our story is my mother didn’t like him. We eventually got together 14 years ago. He died this past January and my heart is broken. He’d sing this to me. I will miss him until I draw my last breath.
@@GirlfriendNinja I'm so sorry for your loss! My life spiraled out of control after Manuel's death, leaving me empty as I navigated my way in and out of relationships. (We made our mistakes but others refused to forgive while he was alive, so the consequences have been devastating for me personally.) Thank you so much for sharing your story. Many blessings, Victoria xo
Wow, how heartbreaking is this. May he rest eternally in the bosom of the Lord's hand. Never let true love die😍😍may you find strength and comfort to go on as well
@kabuki1213 All I had was music and tv to keep me sane as a kid in the ‘60s. No mom. abusive brother and an alcoholic father. My pops was great when sober and was a huge Jazz fan. I ran wild as a child and teen before music rescued me again. I created three bands. Had some worldwide releases but never made it big. I always wished for a real family. Always drawn to those family shows Father Knows Best, Donna Read, Good Times, etc. I learned about right and wrong from friends. We all made a mark in music somehow. Songs like this are forever in my heart. Peace and universal love to you my brother ❤️

@@alidon1970 Thank you so much. This song and 'Close to You' were two of our favorites. xo
Never let true love die😍😍may you find strength and comfort to go on as well
Classic soul never dies!🎉🎉🎉
What memories of such a young, innocent love....how can I be 67? Where did it go?
Hello Rita, how's everything going with you?
Such a beautiful song.
Hello Coreen, how are you doing?
Back in a time when we respected our ladies and showed them how much we loved them
Amen
You obviously don't realize that this song is about a love HAD but now LOST. His fault? Her fault? Tragedy or infidelity? We can only speculate.
@@TheRoadhammer379 it does not matter, whatever the outcomes, what matters is respect.

Imagine having music such as this playing in the back round constantly as a child...we were poor but privileged.
❤️ well said! ❤️
You were blessed Michael J
Couldn’t agree more
@@TheJetfighter666 another version of some of my life. Mom with depression, dad alcoholic, large child that got bullied in school but went to Catholic school and the nuns were good to me ❤️❤️
