My dad passed 13 days ago and every time I hear this song I think of him and that night then we listened to it at a park he always took me to when I was 8, him singing “you are everything and everything is you” to me. My mom told me that he adorned me and called me his “angel baby girl”. No one will ever replace the man who would literally do anything for me. I’m only 13 and he was my world and I was his. I love and miss you so dad.❤
I'm So very sorry sweetheart. And although I'm older than You are, I know that Pain that You are going through very well, and I never thought I would ever be Ok again. But I Am. And so will You. But you take all the time you need because these feelings that you're going through are very personal and just between You and your Dad. Just hope that if you need someone to talk with that you'll reach out to someone who cares and who would love to be there for You, and so let them be, if You need them to be (and for sure, your Mom). Know that there is One thing that will Never separate us, and that's Love. And Lena, once a Parent, "Always" a Parent. And so Speak to your Dad, about anything, and if you'd like even ask him to show You that he's there with You, and he Will show You! All You need to do is to be patient, and "Believe." Lastly, what a Most Beautiful Song You and your Mom have and that I believe was the Greatest and most beautiful Gift anyone could receive from their Dad. It'll be Ok Lena, and You will be OK too, and.. so will your Mom. Just give it time. And remember, "Believe.." ❤️ 🙏

❤️ The Philly soul music genre. One of the smoothest of the 70s era. And the Stylistics were top shelf. What beautiful music! THIS SONG IS OVER 50 YEARS OLD! MAGIC with Russel Thompkins Jr's falsetto. Who's with me in 2024? ❤️
I'm with you 7/28/2020 you're so right. it is too bad it seems a lot of our younger generation can not appreciate this music and rather turn to music which in my opinion has no positive message
This makes think of how grateful I'm am. Nothing compares to my wife. My eyes see everything I could ever ask for. She is my everything. Thank you father
The Stylistics and Delphonics gave me some of my best music memories growing up. I’m just a little white girl but that Philadelphia Soul was and still is magical. Love it so much.
Sara...this motown child feels the same way. Motown, Chitown, Philly, but I'll say it, These 2 groups, the stylistics and delphonics were right up there with some of the best. I love this music.
I grew up on this kind of music. My mom passed away on February 28th, 2014. Shortly after she passed away, I saw a lady who looked exactly like my mom and I wanted so badly to walk over and hug this lady so tight. I started crying and this song was playing in my head. So whenever I jear this song, it makes me think of her. Almost 9 years and I miss her so much.
I don't think one ever gets over the loss of their mom. I was her caregiver for many years. She had dementia and it broke my heart when I couldn't do it any longer and she went into a nursing home. She only lasted 5 1/2 months, and she passed in December 2019. This kind of music I believe, evokes the feelings of love and loss and in a way healing. Don't let songs like these ever die. Bless you.
Words have a strong meaning. So we all should choose our words right. I thank our Creator for the songs that brings good memories to us all!!!. Enjoy 😋.
Sometimes it's the lyrics, sometimes the music, sometimes the voice. It's rare - rare indeed - when you get a masterpiece. "You Are Everything" is a masterpiece!

This is The Sound of Philadelphia. I definitely agree with you about this music whether it's Motown, Philadelphia International, Stax, Atlantic, etc etc!

Feb 10, 2020: I dedicate this song to my first boyfriend and the true love of my life, Sgt Manuel R. Martinez of Albuquerque. Manuel, 23, was killed in an auto accident on Aug 22, 1975 south of Santa Fe. Returning to Albuquerque from a long work week at the Farmington mines, he rolled his 240Z Datsun. Manuel trained as a Marine at Camp Pendleton (radio operator), served a year in Okinawa and was a member of the VFW & Carpenters Union. Still in high school, we exchanged letters often. By the time I graduated, I knew I had fallen in love with him. Manuel graduated from West Mesa High School in 1970 and participated in track & field. Sadly, my mother did not like him and made our lives miserable. Then....he was gone. She laughed when she learned of his death, while mocking me for becoming hysterical. (I had a nervous breakdown and spent time in a psych ward.) Manuel's shy grin, warm heart, gentle spirit and strong work ethic were endearing traits to those of us who loved him. KATRINA *Bless the LORD, all His hosts, you servants who do His will. Psalm 103:21
I know it still hurts. Time doesn’t matter. This song also reminds me of my first love. The short version of our story is my mother didn’t like him. We eventually got together 14 years ago. He died this past January and my heart is broken. He’d sing this to me. I will miss him until I draw my last breath.
