As a Titans fan. I was in full agreement of letting Albert Haynesworth walk in free agency because I knew he would do with the Titans exactly what he did with the Washington Redskins. The only time he ever gave it 100% on the field, was in his contract years. He was hoping the Titans would either sign him to a long term deal, or another team willing to bet the farm would pick him up! It was always a mystery to me why Washington didn't see this coming?
Not that complicated, Dan Snyder was always about the big splash signings. It's why you always see post millennium Washington on these types of lists so much.
Haynesworth will forever be tarnished by his then record 5 game suspension for an on the field incident, stomping on the uncovered head of Cowboys center Andre Gurode while with the Titans. While Ndamukong Suh has also notoriously stomped on players, none were defenseless in such a manner as with the Haynesworth case. It's a wonder that Haynesworth did not face criminal charges for his actions.
@@davidalexander8996 I wholeheartedly agree. I remember that incident quite well. I even remember then head coach Jeff Fisher telling the NFL, "If you guys don't take action, we will!" A truly selfish, self centered person!
Nice to see Franco Harris stuck around long enough to get at least one big contract. Those 70s guys made the NFL what it is and almost all of them ended up crippled and underpaid, and not NFL underpaid but like underpaid for a high end construction worker. In 1975 the average salary was under 40 Grand a year
My HS football coach would tell us the NFL awarded its first million dollar contract the year he retired. He was a Kicker on the Cowboys and barely made squat. Had all kinds of ligaments surgically repaired on his leg too.
I'm not exactly trying to stick up for Haynesworth, but there's a pattern with these teams who don't know how to sign players. They could have signed a cheaper option who is a scheme fit, but they went for the flashy pick who's never played in a 3-4 and unfortunately had no desire to. It's almost like signing Wes Welker and using him as an outside receiver to run go routes, or Antonio Gates as a run blocker.
Andre Rison to the Browns, signs a then record contract for a wide receiver, puts up career lows, develops a beef with the Browns fans, gets released after only one season.
And to make it worse he went on to Jacksonville the next year only to end up in Green Bay later that season and ended up going and winning a Super Bowl ring.
Thank you for doing ones pre-2000. All the other UA-camrs only ever seem to cover from 2000 onwards when there's a lot of football related stuff to learn before that time period.
Haynesworth was the worst FA signing ever…that clip for the Eagles game with him laying on the ground while the play was still going on was the stuff of legends..what a bum!
Also during that Season O'Donnell threw more TDs than Ints going into SBXXX. Also the Jets had Rich Kotite one of the WORST head coaches of the 1990s. Which didn't help matters with O'Donnell and Bill Parcels couldn't help him either. I remember O'Donnell playing for the Titans and he was solid back up QB helping the them win games in Steve McNair's absence. The issue with Bell was the the Steelers had s scheme that was built for exclusively for him which is another reason why he wasn't as productive with the Jets and other teams as he was with the Steelers. I would say a few runner ups would be Larry Brown and Desmond Howard because they got big contracts for their accomplishments in the Superbowl. Howard had a kick of return for a TD and he was singed by the Raiders hoping for him to be a good WR but he wasn't a WR but a special teams specialist and the Raiders tried to make him a WR and it didn't work. Larry Brown had 2 ints in the SB against the Steelers which O'Donnell threw right to him. He didn't pan out either and I think the Raider singed him as well.
Dog...did you even pay attention?? Lol he only played 3 games for the cardinals, was benched and then CUT midway through the season. He didn't even play a full season with them. They paid him 15 million for 3 games.
BUCS fan here. We signed Alvin Harper to a huge deal and thought he was gonna be our number one receiver and played like a practice player for us. Ugh!!!
I know a lot of NFL die hard fans have heard of Albert Haynesworth. He was such a huge disappointment for the Redskins. Deion Sanders was also a major disappointment after signing with the Redskins, so he retired after the season. The Patriots made a huge mistake by signing Antonio Brown for a multi-year deal, so Coach Belichick released him after one game. The Cardinals signed Sam Bradford to change the team, so he has a history of being injury-prone. The Seahawks signed Franco Harris was a huge mistake, so he wanted to finished his career with the Steelers. The Jets signed a 4-year deal for Le’Veon Bell, so he wasn’t the same player once he arrived with the team.
Sam Bradford when healthy was elite. He was so smooth, incredible arm, smart, just beautiful to watch. But those knee injuries messed him up. Too bad, he could've been a HoFer
To be fair to Haynesworth, his first season was good. Brian Orakpo became a pro bowler playing with AH. It was when Shanahan changed his position that everything went south.
Kirk cousins to Atlanta really gonna be on these lists in the future 😂😂😂 I'm so glad the vikings finally stopped giving him top dollar to be bad enough not to go get a replacement but not good enough to contend. So crazy he's made so much money while delivering 1 playoff win 😂😂
Washington Redskins actually had Dana Stubblefield and Dan Wilkinson (former Bengal) at the same time. But it didn't lead to the dominant defense Washington hoped for. 😊
I always shake my head with these videos, these professional athletes get paid way to much for what they do, baseball is even worse! I don’t feel bad for owners or the players, it’s us as fans that get robbed not only financially but seeing a good product
And as a giant fan who spent 4 seasons watching this guy run into the back of dusty ziegler and Chris Bober I can tell you, that means this man was ass ass. Like, trash.
Mike Glennon with the Bears. $45 million contract for three years, four games played, cut after one season.
definitely a horrible signing!
I forgot about that one. That was the year they benched him for Trubisky I think?

Haynesworth is in a long line of redskins terrible free agent signing before him it was Bruce smith and Deion sanders and after him it was Josh Norman
Brock Oswiler should be on this list lol

Raiders signed Javon Walker to a 6-year $55 million and only played 8 games with 1 TD
Got hurt
Good call!
Haynesworth shut it down after the contract was signed. The first quiet quitter.
Every NFL teams best hidden draft gem would be a killer vid. Keep up the great work!
Agreed
The Jets signing O’Donnell in the 90’s reminds me of them signing Aaron Rodgers recently. That team will never learn
He’ll be on a future version of this list
Brett Farve
Worst Rodgers was a trade
Ed Reed was done when he signed with the Texans. Everyone in Baltimore knew it and we adored the guy. He was one sneeze from the injured list.
Emmitt Smith to the Cardinals

Looks to me like a bad moon rose on Cleveland that day...and hasn't set since.

Haynesworth laid down on the job
Literally
@@dwjoseph59I was about to comment that lol

@2:01 it’s crazy… O’Donnell was so bad for the Jets he said “F-k it!” and started smoking cigarettes while ON THE FIELD!! 😂😂

I don’t understand how Sam Bradford can possibly be considered a huge bad decision. It was a two year deal only and 15 guaranteed is nothing

Alvin Harper, Irving Fryar
Albert haynesworth screams i don’t give a fuck but the money
I came to see if Roy Williams WR from Detroit to Dallas made the cut. I guess there really are worse deals out there LOL!!
BUCS fan here. We signed Alvin Harper to a huge deal and thought he was gonna be our number one receiver and played like a practice player for us. Ugh!!!
dam
Scott Mitchell's OC that year was Tom Moore. I like to bring that up whenever people try to claim Manning never had great coaches.
Saints signed Jairus Byrd back in 2014 was one of the biggest mistake in our franchise's history. Next to Jared Cook
fair
I think Antonio Brown to the Raiders has to be among the worst
It was a trade, but i agree. He was beyond terrible for the raiders
Was a trade but you're not wrong
I'm a Seahawks fan and I totally forgot Franco Harris played for the Hawks. Lol
Me too!

He might be the worst. Even Belicheck tried and failed making him a serviceable d-lineman. He got his bag...good on him.
down vote for the Franco Harris segment where none of the Seahawks video is actually Harris.
don’t care and i hope you lose your job
Anybody that goes to the Redskins you’re pretty much on vacation
New ownership has made the Commanders a team that can be formidable foe in years to come. I'm a Eagles fan so I don't like saying that.
One of the worst signings in franchise history.
you say that on every clip
Mitchell actually played very well for a season and a half.
Not great overall, but maybe not deserving to be on this list.
Sam Bradford when healthy was elite. He was so smooth, incredible arm, smart, just beautiful to watch. But those knee injuries messed him up. Too bad, he could've been a HoFer

The Jets have to be the masters of wasting money on acquiring supposedly stellar players.
100%
David Boston with the Chargers in 2003, that was a derail too...
And J.C. Jackson in 2022.
What about when Stephen Jackson came to my Atlanta Falcons and was trash?
Better yet gurley lol
Jackson was old he wasn't in his prime nor did he get a big contract.
@ True
Now you can add Kurt cushions to the list
I'm a Steelers fan. When Neil signed with the Jets i told my Jets fan friend "He's your problem now"
Golladay actually did have a TD for the giants
As a Texans fan green was ass hardly ever played and Ron dayne out played him
And as a giant fan who spent 4 seasons watching this guy run into the back of dusty ziegler and Chris Bober I can tell you, that means this man was ass ass. Like, trash.
@ 😂 bruh we got Ron out of shape and he was a beast compared to green he even had a 200+ yard game as a Texan
@edsq11
I was so mad when Seattle drafted Alexander and we got Dayne trash ass.
@andrem.thomas332 bruh I will never forgive them for not trading up for brian urlacher and passing on Alexander
The latest Kirk Cousins ATL, years ago Matt Flynn to the Seahawks rookie Russell Wilson beat him out
Mike Glennon was a fate worse than hell
Martellus Bennett with the Packers
Arizona hasn't improved much since Bradford. Maybe it wasn't his fault.🤣
O’Donnell got paid to blow that game
Aaron Rogers to Jets or Deshaun Watson to Browns
Those were trades, not FA acquisitions.
Jerry Porter to the Jaguars
Jawuan James time as a Bronco. (The one game or so he played.) 🙈
yeah
Cleveland and Dante Stallworth
Kenny Galloday
Raiders will be on this list.
I subbed 3 minutes into the video.....i unsubbed when i read this kid in the comments. You've got some growing up to do bud 😘
How do you pronounce Adam Gase's name two different ways and only getting one correct? Were you betting that one of the pronunciations was right?
Aaron Rodgers shouldve been on this list....
next one
UA-camr voice
Broncos dale carter
would be a good one
There should have been four jay cuttler stories here, do better.
