People here hating on Danny because he didn't get a knockout or dominate but infront of 18,000 people for his first boxing match he performed really well, he showed alot of heart and fought his best for all 4 rounds and he won round 3 and 4 in my opinion he definitely didn't deserve to loose for the people saying who simpson won, the draw was a fair result.
true, it was a fair fight i think but ppl saying that he was awful cause he trained 7 months and simpson trained 2 and it was a draw are correct but harsh. simpson has felt that pressure before as a pro athlete, and the training he has done as a footballer mentally prepares him more than aarons overall
Exactly. You could see DS movement and punches were well more put together, given he was an athlete for so many years. Danny has never been an athlete EVER. He’ll improve over time, if he keeps grinding.

People forget Danny Simpson is used to stepping out in front of thousands of people and performing, he’s been a continuous prem player for like a decade, Danny Aarons stepped out in front of thousands of people that he could only dream of seeing in the flesh in front of his computer and boxed his heart out, both the lads did, Aarons had more training, Simpson is used to these crowds, fair play to both the lads for putting on a show👏

simpson in some ways has an advantage nerves wise, he has been in alot more high pressure situations. so ye he would have probably won, to be fair tho aarons had to start from scratch whilst simpson was already a former athlete. not saying it wasnt fair btw but i think draw was fair, simpson 1st and 2nd, aarons 3rd and 4th. close one but ye im happy with that result personally
Honestly, I think it all came down to nerves. You cannot coach that. Danny was nervous and started slow in R1 and 2, but managed to find gear in R3 and 4. Also boxing is not an easy sport, even tho 6 months is a long time, it really isn't. Fair play to Aarons getting in the ring, but I think there are a lot of improvements to be made. But I do agree with you, idk why his coach said job done, when he didn't even win. Also with Simpsons, since he has experience with coaches and taking info in, he managed to apply what he learnt 100% into fight night, and make the adjustments accordingly better than Danny.

as a danny fan (who has watched him for 2 years),i dont think he should be celebrating this.i feel like he should have admitted that it wasnt his best effort,i feel like he should have been a little more dissapointed knowing that this wasnt a good fight at all,especially since he had been training for 7 months
Ya don’t know if it was his best effort for one. And two seventh months training yes. And also seven months for the very first time being committed in any realm of physical activity outside of walking. This was a great showing for him. A year ago he couldn’t walk in a straight line without falling on his face. He showed really good head movement at times, showed a strong chin, and he showed he can string together a variety of combos hit like four really nice ones picking out the shots. You can’t ask for a better first performance especially without any amateur experience. As for Danny Simpson you can say much of the same, he obviously had less technique but he showed quite a brawlers potential. And did it only after a month. (And he’s got experience with elite tier training, not for boxing, but he still had self discipline already totally figured out) It’s not that Danny did bad they both performed FAR better than I would have expected. And I’d even say for misfits they both performed exceptionally well.

We don’t know how long Simpson was training for, he was in camp for 5 weeks, as the other guy said he was an athlete and has always been into boxing

There are no excuses for Aaron’s. And they’ve both performed in front of huge crowds so that point is out the window

I'm honestly impressed that Aarons is as good as he is with 6-7 months of training and 0 amatuer experience. Could you imagine it? Fighting in front of almost 20,000 people for your first fight? Most people go from sparring, to going to skills bouts, not headlining a main card.
I'm impressed both guys kept at it for four rounds-though the fight really should have been 3 or 5 rounds to make getting a draw even harder.

I think it would be smart for danny to have a few more fights before fighting weller, I believe that guys probably been training a bit behind the scenes, I doubt he's similar to how he was vs JJ but who knows, i do think aarons needs a few more fights first but he did decent for his first fight though. a lot of people are piling on him in many comment sections but both of them need praise, they both tried their hardest and fought 'til the end. both of their first time boxing and aarons went through a crazy body transformation too! I saw a few nice things in the ring that if he improves on then he'd be a decent contender in misfits. major props to simpson of course for doing as well as he did for on such short notice, would like to see him properly train and fight someone later on too.
We all wanted him to win coz we got high expectations of him can’t do nothing now but compose himself pick a suitable next opponent n work on his flaws shown in dis fight,cardio,punch variety n getting rid of habits like putting his hands down after every exchange
First fight against a bigger stronger more athletic MAN. Danny doesn’t look 165 unless he’s 6ft. Plus stage fright is real. Before fighting weller he really needs to get a snc coach and one more fight smaller venue(inter club).

I do think Danny needs a different coach. Fix his footwork mainly, obviously everything can be improved but at this level of influencer boxing fixing the footwork would make the biggest difference I believe. He has the heart and the work rate for it. He’s got the nerves out he’s got some experience. He was the main event in his first fight so he’s thrown in the deep end. Other guy was pretty tough, natural athlete not like the other influencers. I think Danny can and will look better next time around.
