    G'day mate. This has been a deLIGHTful presentation and I'm going to order one to take advantage of the Sofirn's official store's mid-July sale! 😀
    Here's a pop quiz for you: If the SC31T were also available in the *5000K* option would you get that warmer tint instead of the 6500K?
    According to the ZeroAir review site, they had tested the 6500K sample unit and measure its CCT to be just about 6000K. It's nowhere near Sofirn's 6500K claims. In my brief experience with the torches that I've bought so far, both Wurkkos and Sofirn's color temps always fall short of their actual CCT values, especially at the lower output levels. It's not like Philips/Osram HID and LED emitters for the automotive and home lighting where a 6500K light is really 6500K and 5000K is truly "neutral white".
    My first modern torch is the Wurkkos TS22 with the 5000K XHP 70.3 Hi CRI emitter. Everyone seems to be recommending the 5000K tint, so I got that. I was sort of disappointed that its color temp at modest outputs is warmer than I had thought. Certainly not "neutral white" as I was led to believe. 🔦🤔

      For some reason the 6000-6500K ones are brighter. So I tend to go with those for tactical lights. But warm light is much better on the eyes. I can lower the brightness so it's tolerable. But it depends whether I'm selecting a light to use around the house or outside. Outside, I'd most likely choose a low CRI, high brightness LED.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the SC31T did have a shortcut to moonlight mode if you hold the mode button while clicking the tailswitch.

    That hero of review do has the stabilization of brightness on its modes (except turbo of course)???

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT 4 місяці тому +1

      On the lower modes (L-M) yes but they do sag in brightness over time very slowly due to the FET driver.

      Maybe you know about this situation in SP35T? Interested in L-M-H modes - are they stabilized???:-)

    I think your camera is not sensitive enough to light cuz it's hard to see the light output unlike other videos I see. (outdoor test 200m)

      It's pretty accurate to how it looks in person. I change the ISO depending on the light. Some larger lights need lower ISO or the camera will blow out. I think the SC31T is plenty bright on high/turbo.

    It has a side switch. This is a nice do-everything EDC light. It is not a tactical light. In a high stress situation, it is too easy to hit a side switch by accident as you grip the light. Now you've been kicked down to a significantly lower mode that you don't want. On a true tactical light, you want one switch, on the tailcap. And no ears on the tailcap that can interfere with hitting that tailcap button in a high stress situation. A light that can tailstand is not a tactical feature. Those ears get in the way of being able to use it as a tactical light.

      That's a good point about the ears too - I wondered why some manufacturers don't include them on tactical lights.

    Is that SC31T better than SC33 ?

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT 11 місяців тому +2

      If we're talking about what's the best tactical light, the SC31T is better. The tail switch is a proper dual stage switch, unlike the SC33 with a tail e-switch. SC33 will be way brighter though.

    The SC31t flashlight is total garbage. The green thumb button turns the flashlight on but won't turn it off. There's also issues with ramping up and down. I think the engineer that designed this one was on narcotics at the time. I bought one and they won't take it back simply because of customer dissatisfaction. Won't buy another Sofirn if my life depended on it and wouldn't give this flashlight to a friend for free and have just tossed it into the trash can where it belongs...

      Nah it's the best light, you are just wasteful, and don't have the mental ability to operate a Chinese flashlight with 2 buttons, I gutted a Milwaukee battery for its cells and now have extra batteries for it too
