Im also installing fully automation & integration in my new house - but from my openion : dont use fully automated system like touch control switches - but im going to use 24v centralised control system & the switches all are normal & still have the manual functionality & automation mode by installing 24v rekay modules then by normal switches by controling the relay in manual mode & in auto mode controling the sane relay wuth automation system- so like this only we can achieve a reliable system- the main advantage is if we plan ekectrical conduit & wiring @ starting then very easy & in future also very easy for integration with multiple system in a centralised control panel

Automation to some extent is practical,acceptable.Beyond that,its risky of the failure of some software/virus/hacking!Cameras/gate opening is good enough..the rest are costly toys i perceive.Imagine if your front door is stuck due to an software issue...!
I still dont understand the concept of smart locks. Unline movies where thieves/robbers use their lockpicking skills to open door, in real life more than 95% of the break-in happen by force opening the door using crowbar or similar tool. How will these smart lock help in these situations?
