- Several Farmer associations, mostly from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, have called for the ‘Delhi Chalo’ March towards New Delhi on February 13 to demand a law guaranteeing MSP for their produce, one of the conditions they had set when they agreed to withdraw their agitation in 2021. 1. How can simple farmers who are debt trapped can stay in protest for months without income?
2. Central government farm laws are uniform across the country. Why only farmers of few northern states do the Delhi march?
3. You are expressing your opinions on why farmers are protesting. Likewise, can you come up with some potential reasons on why government is behaving like this? Are your opinions balanced on both sides?
