The tank role at least makes sense and Kinda evens her out. but just conceptually since Her first appearance on OverWatch she's been broken and OP! I think Blizzard gets a little too passionate about characters sometimes and give them wayyy to much. Like when Deathwing came around. He was OP. Though now he's actually busted from all the nerfing and is basically garbage compared to most other heroes now. Because they had to overcompensate/ Over-correct his Nerfing to account for how much they gave him.

It's how they make money. 12 year olds who suck at the game will spend mom's money on the hero because they suck and want to play the OP hero. They will never release a perfectly balanced or underpowered hero. Always broken OP. (Edit: deathwing is still broken and OP. My win rate with him is like 82% and I usually get MVP)

Mei's entire design could be best summarised as "How to Make Arthas Obsolete 101". She has the stats, the survivability, the mobility, the slows, the stuns, the high impact team fight ultimates, the zoning, the wave clear, and anti-CC. Thanks to the Q Blind and ability to buff her entire team with Physical Armour, it makes her able to function pretty reliably as an anti-AA tank, possibly even better than Arthas. The fact that she can talent in a mini version of Frozen Tempest that procs for free from any CD she uses (including trait and lvl 7 heal) is almost like they are making a mockery out of Arthas' design. The one thing she possibly can't do over Arthas is solo lane, but that remains to be seen. Arthas is in dire need of a rework after this is done, since he feels absolutely ancient after having tried Mei on the PTR. Also, NotParadox, you forgot another thing that Avalanche does. If you go behind an enemy team and use Avalanche towards your base, you can in fact push the entire enemy team under your forts and keeps since the ultimate goes through walls and gates. Yes, you heard that right. It goes through buildings and terrain. You can completely ruin someone's day by hiding somewhere and then jump out and Avalanche them so they can't escape the base. The ultimate is honestly pretty nuts.
Seems very OP for now. Infinite slow like Jaina, hard engage like Artanis, camp-steal like Mediv or Falstad (but better), Malganis self-healing, stun, root, blind and a saving bunker (but with heal and cd reduction). While D.Va struggles to reduce enemy teams' damage dodging all the stuns/silence/polymorph/etc, you can just do the same with one button and go do something else. And if ult really goes through the gates, it's a legal cheat with a pretty short cooldown. Hoped for Baal hero, good video though. Waiting for a nerf, although don't know how to make it since all of her things are conceptual.
I think the lvl 16 talent Acclimation will make her a late-game monster. 20% more healing from everything plus the 10 armor is a lot and combined with the reset button talent at lvl 20, Flash Freeze, she can last long and whittle her enemies down.
omg a certain build of hers where she can constantly slows an enemy with basic attacks while she deals bonus damage with heals is like a demon tortures their victim slowly as they crawl just like how demonic and sadistic she is on OW.
It's not as good as the build where all her damage and healing is increased by 20%, enemies are slowed and their attacks are slowed by 20%, you are constantly damaging nearby enemies and self healing, and gain 10 armor. Oh, and blizzard will reduce enemy damage by 40%. As long as a hero is nearby. Broken AF.

Worth noting about Flash Freeze is that you can't get it to automatically activate and then use your Cyro-Freeze manually, as the automatic one also puts your D on cooldown. You can however use your D and then have Flash Freeze activate. You can also cancel your Flash Freeze using your D like a normal Cyro-Freeze.
While I appreciate the HotS devs trying to make her distinct from her Overwatch counterpart, from a simple fun stand point Overwatch heroes are just less exciting releases for me. Compared to the rest of Blizzard's IPs, Overwatch has personally gotten so ubuiquitous for me that seeing more of it popup is just not as fun as exploring the talents and abilities of a hero from literally anywhere else.
I actually do like Overwatch heroes and have been waiting for some more. I got into gaming relatively late and Overwatch was my first blizzard IP so that might be why. Not saying my feelings are more valid but just adding my two cents.

Why is nobody talking about how that climate "affix" is really good to break the monotony of meta and have more variety on what you want to pick, and really pick something you like, not something that has more value, I mean, we still need to know if this is only going to function propperly, could be a seasonal affix, and give each seaon a new one, that will make very different every season, i see pure gold on that, and maybe in ranked, when they have like 3 or more affixes, make it random, it could be anything but fun

You are wrong with all points. First - that talent still gives armor and it wasn't that talent which was nerfed (The talent which gives armor gave 25% armor for 5 seconds on release, then it was buffed to give 35% armor, then it was reverted back to give 25% armor for 4 seconds, so nothing basically changed, only these 2 changes in logs since release). The talent you're talking about which was nerfed heavily is healing talent, which was healing for around 600hp to heal to 200 now, trait cooldown was increased because of that healing talent and another talent which decreases trait cooldown was nerfed to give smaller cooldown reduction to trait. The thing was - with all that and reduced cooldown talent Yrel could heal people probably like Uter. 2nd - Yrel gives 25% Armor (Armor means both Physical and Spell damage reduction). Mei gives 50 Physical Armor (it is not the same), which means that is autoattacks damage reduction only, which is lame considering nearly all autoattack heroes are very pathetic for a long time in general (thanks to overwatch's highly mobile heroes meta btw) , except the only one who deals % of hp damage, then armor is ignored entirely (hello tychus)

29:04 "You die first and then you trait immediatly after" No this doesnt proc i tried it. Only way it procs is that you activate it first and then you proc the one that activates before fatal damage. Procing the fatal damage first will put the trait on cooldown.
I agree that she doesn't look the part but as long as her kit works as a tank, she's a tank. Even in overwatch people treated her as an offtank which is basically a bruiser in moba terms so with a little tweaking under the hood she became a proper tank.
So... Mei's Trait is Kerrigan's Chrisalys baseline. Her Q is Ok. Mainly cause of the Slow, not as much because of the Blind. Her W is (yayy) another Blizzard. Could've been Snow Storm, or smth. In any case, it seems good to me. Her E is ETC's entire combo. Seems really nice. Her 1st Ult is a almost the same as Tassadar's worse Ult. Might be even worse, if it goes over walls, as some comments suggested. Her 2nd Ult is a combination of Medivh's Ult and Tassadar's wall. This looks awesome. Not really that impressive from a design standpoint, as most of her skill set is kinda reskinned abilities from other Heroes, but it seems interesting combined like this in a single character.
Why so many advertisements? Is everyone seeing as many as I do? Literally every 2-3 minutes there's an ad. Love watching and listening to NotParadox's content, but it's impossible to do so while driving or working when I have to skip every couple minutes.
to make it less OP. It's essentially identical to DW's lv16 shield, except it stuns the caster. Because you aren't put into stasis, it can be broken through damage to deny the healing. if you're 1v5 and pop that at 10% life, you're dead. It's not gonna hold.
skating away on lvl 7 basically makes you tyrael... so whenever you have a dive comp, you should go for that, it's a lot better than you make it seem imo.
The annoying part is the perma slow part and the fact that you cannot kill her, so you need to kill ennemies faster than they kill you, diff is that you are slowed during all fight pretty much. Also Avalanche is too strong, since it goes through structures and impassable terrains, you can pretty much send all enemy team under your fort with towers and gates and stun em for 2.5 seconds, it's massive
Too bad they didn't go with a day/night cycle like dota and rework Malganis to be more like the old night stalker. That would have brought some players in to the fold.
Lore/design wise I don't get how is she a tank and have more health than even Arthas and ETC, every tank until now had a "tank" body with strong armor, skin, etc. but Mei is just a squishy girl with soft clothes, how is she supposed to be harder than Arthas? It's just as if they had Jaina as a tank with no reasoning behind. She would fit perfectly as the lacking "support" category instead.
Overwatch was fun, but it got old fast. H.O.T.S on the other hand is still strong and refreshing to play. Sucks that they pull the plug on its Esports.

P.S Even math shows otherwise, based on stats at wiki, I've calculated that lvl1 Orphea with 1 Q, 1 W and 1 E hit and 90% Q increased dmg talent deals 879dmg, while orphea with 20% increased damage on slowed deals 876dmg, which is small difference, but if both of those builds add 1 more Q hit the damage will have 170more dmg in first build (Q increased damage), but thing is, I can hit people with Q for 3-4 times while W and E are on CD, so multiply this

She has more health then mura don't listen to him its over 400 more. Also avalanche does not break apon hitting a wall if its range still goes past the wall it will good through the wall like anubaraks e he did it up against the egde of the map so thats why he thinks that.
Just looking at the possible build on her, she is just op nothing else to ad here. Her D should be nerf too versatile, her w should be killable just like murky fish these are things that can possibly make the character less op.
None? Mei is a tank you'd consider for facing Tracer. She can AA from range - very handy seeing as Tracer can skirt out of melee-tank AA range while shooting them. You can blind/slow her (especially after recall if she has no blinks), can zone her out of areas with blizzard if they're sitting on one of your team, and if Tracer is going on you, can passive her bombs or slide away/to her. Mei's damage may be piss but so is Tracer's healthpool. Mei will outsustain a 1v1.

Tracer is trash for a long a time already. I say it as a former tracer main who played around 800-900 games since she released and still has her at top2 most sucessful heroes in profile, even though I haven't played her for like 3 years at all. That's part of your answer - no, tracer will lose hp to quickly from that "malganis" build from that aoe damaging aura talent

Avalanche does not break on walls. It goes over all walls, including enemy and friendly ones, not just terrain.

that third talent of hers on lvl 1 is a must have as she racks up alot of heals with just a blizzard and feels like blaze's self healing.
Combo it with the area AoE that triggers every time to cast an ability. The HoT is crazy with her. Varian will be a good counter to her.

Mei gives 50 Physical Armor (it is not the same), which means that is autoattacks damage reduction only, which is lame considering nearly all autoattack heroes are very pathetic for a long time in general (thanks to overwatch's highly mobile heroes meta btw)

@@MetalPhantom7 Way to over analyze the FUCK out of comment. I did mean the talent that gives armor, not the heal one. It was extremely used in competitive play to stack armor when it was possible. You are right about me missing its just physical armor tho.

No this doesnt proc i tried it.
Only way it procs is that you activate it first and then you proc the one that activates before fatal damage.
Procing the fatal damage first will put the trait on cooldown.

For me she doesn’t really feel like a tank. Almost all tanks look like they can take a beating, but she has a thick jacket and thats about all

I agree that she doesn't look the part but as long as her kit works as a tank, she's a tank. Even in overwatch people treated her as an offtank which is basically a bruiser in moba terms so with a little tweaking under the hood she became a proper tank.

So... Mei's Trait is Kerrigan's Chrisalys baseline.
Her Q is Ok. Mainly cause of the Slow, not as much because of the Blind.
Her W is (yayy) another Blizzard. Could've been Snow Storm, or smth. In any case, it seems good to me.
Her E is ETC's entire combo. Seems really nice.
Her 1st Ult is a almost the same as Tassadar's worse Ult. Might be even worse, if it goes over walls, as some comments suggested.
Her 2nd Ult is a combination of Medivh's Ult and Tassadar's wall. This looks awesome.
Not really that impressive from a design standpoint, as most of her skill set is kinda reskinned abilities from other Heroes, but it seems interesting combined like this in a single character.

to make it less OP. It's essentially identical to DW's lv16 shield, except it stuns the caster. Because you aren't put into stasis, it can be broken through damage to deny the healing. if you're 1v5 and pop that at 10% life, you're dead. It's not gonna hold.

skating away on lvl 7 basically makes you tyrael... so whenever you have a dive comp, you should go for that, it's a lot better than you make it seem imo.
Mei is basically Malg + anub + johanna
The annoying part is the perma slow part and the fact that you cannot kill her, so you need to kill ennemies faster than they kill you, diff is that you are slowed during all fight pretty much.
Also Avalanche is too strong, since it goes through structures and impassable terrains, you can pretty much send all enemy team under your fort with towers and gates and stun em for 2.5 seconds, it's massive

Lore/design wise I don't get how is she a tank and have more health than even Arthas and ETC, every tank until now had a "tank" body with strong armor, skin, etc. but Mei is just a squishy girl with soft clothes, how is she supposed to be harder than Arthas? It's just as if they had Jaina as a tank with no reasoning behind. She would fit perfectly as the lacking "support" category instead.

with 2sec cd while other skills have 10-14 sec cd, do you really think you're gonna have more overall damage just because 20% applied to all skills except ulti?
P.S Even math shows otherwise, based on stats at wiki, I've calculated that lvl1 Orphea with 1 Q, 1 W and 1 E hit and 90% Q increased dmg talent deals 879dmg, while orphea with 20% increased damage on slowed deals 876dmg, which is small difference, but if both of those builds add 1 more Q hit the damage will have 170more dmg in first build (Q increased damage), but thing is, I can hit people with Q for 3-4 times while W and E are on CD, so multiply this
That E, is a ETC's Q+W together (with slow)? seems strong (but 14s is a lot)

Just looking at the possible build on her, she is just op nothing else to ad here. Her D should be nerf too versatile, her w should be killable just like murky fish these are things that can possibly make the character less op.
How many tracer players looking at mei like food?
How is she food? Can negate pulse bomb, has a blind, can dash out and slow
None? Mei is a tank you'd consider for facing Tracer. She can AA from range - very handy seeing as Tracer can skirt out of melee-tank AA range while shooting them. You can blind/slow her (especially after recall if she has no blinks), can zone her out of areas with blizzard if they're sitting on one of your team, and if Tracer is going on you, can passive her bombs or slide away/to her. Mei's damage may be piss but so is Tracer's healthpool. Mei will outsustain a 1v1.

Tracer is trash for a long a time already. I say it as a former tracer main who played around 800-900 games since she released and still has her at top2 most sucessful heroes in profile, even though I haven't played her for like 3 years at all. That's part of your answer - no, tracer will lose hp to quickly from that "malganis" build from that aoe damaging aura talent
