Because something is missing and both have aged gracefully and catherine bell didn't need to get plastic surgery to look older she was beautiful the way she was ,but again I'm glad they brought these two back together.
the writers of NCIS Screw this up they could done something special with these two now both of there characters are different and older as a jag fan i really did hope they were married with a couple kids and both having the life they wanted instead the writers blew everything up all those years for the two get together to end like this damn i don't like it.
I suspect it was done to create emotional tension for a spin off show with Harm and Mac doing special ops stuff and having the whole "will they, won't they" thing about them getting together. Unfortunately the spin off did not get approved so we the fans are left with an unsatisfactory ending. Although it is cool that Harm is back flying again in his role as the Carrier XO.
@AnjektusStudio it's called a critique. And a lot of shows are doing this lately and alienating their fan bases. Just look at how everyone regards game of thrones season 8. Instead of calling a critique childish is someone that can't stand seeing something they like being looked at a different way.

Such a shame that they won't be back together and were written to never have been married. Writers really screwed up and erased season 10 from their memories. Hell Mattie isn't mentioned and Harm was willing to look after Mattie. And now it turns out that deployment weighs more than potential family life? This truly sucks. Writers completely disregarded fans and storylines. I don't think Harm loves her anymore. Such a shame
I agree, but more a Hollywood thing in they think easier to write single people in will they won't they versus a happy marriage and them facing the struggles of life together.

I wouldn’t recommend it because there’s random cliffhanger eps with unresolved plots and the series finale is not there. Try finding the DVDs at thrift stores. Show ran from 1994-2003

ELLIOT non c'era feeling,e l'hanno dimostrato quando non hanno reso possibile un prolungamento di JAG avvocati in divisa,perche' Elliot aveva firmato un nuovo contratto con una societa' diversa facendo capire che non era daccordo a continuare la serie xhe poi e' stata cancellata,nonostante avessero tra gli attori nuovi il nuovo Brumby o forse peggio di lui in quanto a faccia tosta e pagliacceria.Altro indizio poteva considerarsi la mancanza di qualche bacio,dopo che non si erano visti per circa nove anni, Possibile che non ne avevano voglia?Chissà cosa era successo tra loro,non e' mai trapelato niente.Harm ha detto a Mac che Hetty gli aveva consigliato di farsi assumere dall'NCIS con qualche incarico importante,in modo che la Serie JAG avrebbe potuto avere un ottimo finale confluendo nello spin off ncis los angeles ed accontentare i milioni di fans sparsi in tutto il mondo,ma nemmeno questa proposta e' stata buona per Harm che ha dichiarato il suo amore per il volo e quindi non avrebbe lasciato il suo incarico.Insomma Elliot ha contrastato in tutti i modi un finale degno della serie JAG,evidentemente non glie ne fregava niente,eppure la serie era servita,eccome, a dare lustro alla sua carriera,ma evidentemente c'era qualche altra cosa di negativo che non ha mai rivelato.Ce ne siamo fatti una ragione.
Damn. Just binge watched the 10 seasons of JAG (3rd time most likely 😂) and came here to have a look at the "happy end". Wished now I've never come here. 😕 I will just keep another story in my mind and forget having heard this one. 😀 The lovestory of those two was so adorable and I was happy that they finally chose to marry. Though I did not like that the JAG (dream) team was spread at the final season. Bud/Harriette, Harm + Mac.

Harm: “what are we doing?” Meaning: are we still dancing around a r’ship? Are we going to give this another try?” Mac: “idk but we’re way past letting fate decide” Meaning: idk but if we do give this a second go it won’t be because of fate. NCIS could have done a lot better with this reunion but they didn’t close the door on them trying again. They left the interpretation up to the fans and often fans don’t like that bc in their eyes it still didn’t happen. Seeing it makes it canon.

Injustice to the fans? Yeah. Does it make sense? A hard maybe and here's why. I think back to Gunny's departure from the show and it was all done in one scene. Shortly after 9/11 he walks into Chegwidden's office requesting transfer to a marine combat unit. The Admiral said that he hated losing him but he understood and went so far as to say he wish he could go with him, leave JAG, rejoin the SEALs, and get back into the fight. JAG began during peacetime and naval aviators and combat commanders weren't in such high demand. All of that changed when our country went to war. Mac said Harm wasn't happy being out of the Navy, which is a big duh. Of course he would be. Turning on the news everyday hearing about our country at war and the need for more troops. He's a combat pilot he belongs in the air, JAG has hammered that home dozens of times. Fighter pilots are fighter pilots; has anyone here NOT seen Top Gun? But that doesn't mean Harm and Mac still couldn't be together. It sucks only seeing your spouse half a year at a time but as Harm and Mac both said there hadn't been anyone else in their lives since the breakup. Harm has said repeatedly to Mac that he couldn't imagine being with anyone else, and after nine years with no ring on her finger I think she could say the same thing about him. Only thing keeping them apart is some bad Hollywood writing. Every fighter pilot knows that one day they will have to retire and they dread that day, but life doesn't end there it keeps going. I think Mac said it straight that fate wasn't keeping them apart any longer. So putting aside bad Hollywood writing, what would be keeping Mac and Harm apart or even getting back together given their nine year abstinence of any real romance? Mac will be busy at state and Harm will be busy at sea and while that could be a deal breaker for some couples, I don't think Mac and Harm are a couple that would let that sort of thing keep them apart.

despite being sad, i personally think that is better that they not are a couple, because Sarah despite her strong personality and value as individual, inside always was a pathetic self-conscious person, and Harm perhaps overcome his personal problems, likely their relationship wouldn't last long, maybe Harm is better alone without the nuissanse of weak women with complicated lives, ie the rest of his unsuccessful relationships, some people are not made for relationships, but Sarah at least is a more strong individual although can't overcome her personal problems completely, as friends is better, only talk, cooperations, mutual help and mojitos, maybe that's how it should be.
