Juice of fruit beyond forbidden Dripping slowly from her fingers, She took my hand and led me to that place where cunning lingers. probably my single favourite line in any song ever, love the wordplay skyclad uses
One day whilst out exploring in some far-flung foreign corner, I took respite from my journey to admire the local fauna. When from the twilight distance a peel of bells and laughter, set my heart-strings fluttering like bats through chapel rafters. On entering a clearing I did sense impending peril, beheld a Gypsy wench with flashing eyes bright, sharp and feral. She smiled at me so sweetly (bit a lip that smacked of danger), gave a look fit to disarm this poor, unwitting stranger. [Chorus] Her rhythm pounced upon me it trounced me in a trice. That charm she wove about me gripped me tight as any vice. (She spoke in tongues above me). Though I cast my eyes to Christ, you'd need the virtue of a saint to not succumb - overcome this Polkageist. Arms of ivory strummed perfection summond me toward the middle. Pan warmed up his pipes heard Herne a plucking at the fiddle. She wrapped herself about me (felt her hot breath at my ear); Danced a horizontal polka down the path to Hell I fear. We're on a path to Hell I fear! The Horny Huntress: "A spirit sent to haunt you taunting all your earthly days. Satyrs vaunt cavorting to the reel Cernunnos plays. I head our wild procession (every beast from man to mouse), finds freedom in possession Polkageist is in the house!" Juice of fruit beyond forbidden dripping slowly from her fingers, she took my hand and led me to that place where cunning lingers. [Chorus] Her rhythm pounced upon me it trounced me in a trice. The one on the cover should be easy enough to catch. Just wait till it passes out, then stuff it inside a pokeball along with Aspirin and Gatorade to help with the hangover.
martin made such good lyrics I want him to get back with skyclad!!! Kevin was awesome for backing vocals as heard in this song and others. With martin they made an album every year and went on tours most summers etc. Now they make an album every 8 years and go on a few gigs per year? Sorry but lets get skyclad back in action!!! :D anyway rock on guys youve all enriched my life a lot.
Umm, these guys invented folk metal. Check out their other albums if you don't believe it, like A Burnt Offering for the Bone Idol from way back in '92. These guys are the inspiration behind MANY metal bands, to include FINNTROLL.
I hope you don't seriously believe that. If you do, then you clearly haven't heard much Finntroll. Either that, or your definition of folk metal is a little fucked up! Folk metal can be the combination of any type of folk with any type of metal. Finntroll fully satisfies these requirements. They do have some songs with little folk influence, but a vast majority of their material still has it in spades.
@chaosgoblyn WTF! Skyclad invented folk metal. Ahh youre one of those if it aint EXTREME METAL!!! It aint metal types....That means you entered the scene late. Grow up this is metal and so is Iron Maiden and all those other fine bands that eexisted before Cannibal Corpse.
Skyclad music helped me in the most difficult time of my life. Thanks guys.

I love the clever use of innuendo in this song! One of the best skyclad songs of all time! 5 stars!
All hail SKYCLAD, one of the first folk metal bands and still one of the best.

@chaosgoblyn
Well, finntroll has only one song you can consider as folk metal: trollhammeren
@LoneHike I can call it my own ;-) I found it in a Second-hand-cd-shop!
@arcotroll I think that the band sounded better with Walkyier, but they still very good.
What about the rest?

This isn't metal...good sure but not metal. Check out Finntroll if you want folk metal...
