I have the HSS Flamed Maple Strat that I found on eBay in “as-new” condition just under $200 w/TTL! The mint green pickguard was 🤮 to me. Sold the loaded pickguard for $65 bought a loaded Oripure (Fleor company’s “boutique” level pickups) on a great sale with coupon for ~$75 delivered. Note that the trem cover is unique so I had to get a blank white pearloid so I can make my own.
@@thebaldshredder I did. Have thought about reviewing one. I have a friend who has a Moranti Red? one. I was really impressed with the neck, build quality and even the sound of the stock humbucker was solid like the one on the Kramer Barretta Special.
I bought a Fesley and an Eart during the Black Friday Sale, and I returned the Fesley. The Fesley, while a good guitar for the price, just didn't compare to Eart. It felt like a "great" beginner's axe whereas the Eart felt like a solid premium guitar. I really wanted to keep the Fesley because I bought it cheap with a coupon code ($110 inc/tax), but it just wasn't good enough. If I only bought the Fesley, I probably would've kept it, but Eart just played so much better and had features like roasted maple neck, stainless steel frets, countersunk neck screws, wider arm relief cut and better hardware so even at $100 extra, I felt the Eart was a better value. I ended up buying another Eart after returning the Fesley.
I just find Eart guitars incredibly impressive. Everything you wouldn’t change in a guitar is just right. Anything you would like to change is already useable/functional or not that bad
If I had to bet, I'd say it is. A few close ones would be the Indio deluxe, some of the new ibanez gio stuff, maybe some of the nicer fireflys like the Pegasus, etc but build quality on the Eart is better than all of those and so is the hardware and fret end/polish treatment.
It does stay in tune very well! The reason I didn't demo it is because ... I can't find the bar! Lol. Sorry about that but it does hold tune surprisingly well!
Great vidya, and at the time likely objectively true. However, since Firefly released their latest run of FFST's, it kills these Earts, mahogany body, a fast, unmistakably roasted maple neck with rosewood board, those same rounded stainless steel fret ends, mechanical switch, Alnico 5 pickups, full sized pots with a good taper, truss rod wheel at the neck heel, locking tuners, bone but, scallop cut at the bottom cutaway, shield painted cavities, shield taped underneath pickguard, all for a guitar that's sub 197 USD to your door after shipping and taxes... A lot of these features take time and are unable to be added to the best of guitars after the fact (namely torrefaction and wheel truss rod adjustment at the neck heel). I do love Eart and am grateful for them, they innovate at a very competitive price point, and I can say the only reason I have never bought one is I'm not huge on their finishes. What I love most about Eart, is whether you like them or not, they force brands at their price point to match or better their prices for the consumer, as well as makes the other brands feel obligated to offer the same features on their budget instruments, Latitude Guitars and Firefly come to mind for example.
They're almost out FYI: eartguitar.com/products/eart-electric-guitar-sss-single-coil-pickup-6-string-solid-right-hand-mahogany-fingerboard-blue

Sounds really good 👏🏻
Thank you! I think so too.
"Best under 200? Hold my beer!" said the fantastic Felsey guitar. 😁
The Fesley is pretty darned good but I don't think it gives it a proper run 👀
@@RafsGearReviews Well to be fair, I haven't actually played an Eart. Have you tried the Fesley?

@@thebaldshredder You should try the Eart. It has some of the best fretwork that you'll find on any guitar. In any price range. Hardware is great too.

There is little to do here outside of a set up.
Fantastic and very thorough review Raf!
Thank you!
Sounds fantastic!
She sounds great. 😃
I think so too!
I have one. EEZE GOOD GEETAH! Not sure it's the BEST for under $200 (only because some don't like strats) but DEFINITELY worth $169.

Why didn't you demo the tremolo Does it stay in tune

Is that a flamed face with stainless frets?
Flamed top and back on a roasted mahogany body with stainless steel frets and saddles!
