    Excellent discussion! Unfortunately, in the U.S. people are too intolerant to hear an explanation like this one here. We have to be patient and methodical when analyzing people, situations and statements as these scholars did here.
    I’m reading the Muqaddimah. It was tough to read Ibn Khaldun’s statements as an African American. However, there is so much to learn from him that a person cannot discard his book because of some bad statements. Many people -from all races, think this way from time to time about all races! For example, President Johnson worked with segregationists and he used the “N word.” However, President Johnson was responsible for getting the historic Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed! He was responsible for placing the first African American on the Supreme Court. In sum, you have to examine details but also consider the entire person. Ibn Khaldun said very flattering things about the Malians and Abyssinians who are obviously Black people.

      not at all....an excellent example is when you read the false hadith attributed to Prophet Muhammad....many of them were racist, sexist, etc.....
