Thank you, Ijeoma!! Your comments have been so lovely for me this week. It means so much that they've connected with you. Thanks for being here and watching and letting me know that there's something in that you're enjoying. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Spending the whole afternoon following your series on suits !! Just something I found that may interest you (since a year has gone by ). For fire to exist, you do need three elements: adapted quote "The fire triangle shows the three elements a fire needs to ignite: heat, fuel, and an oxidizing agent (usually oxygen). A fire naturally occurs when the elements are present and combined in the right mixture, meaning that fire is actually an EVENT rather than a thing. A fire can be prevented or extinguished by removing any one of the elements in the fire triangle".
Ah, I love that!! Thanks so much for sharing. The Elements continue to become more and more important to me--and I keep working on clarifying and refining my interpretations of them. So this is wonderful! Thanks for spending the day with "me." 😀
That's interesting! It got me to thinking...What could be the source of the heat?--->friction, electricity, or another Fire, etc.... Then I thought of more triangles... 3 things to make Water---> Hydrogen , Oxygen, and very high heat (Fire is one example of heat) 3 things to make AIr (mostly Oxygen)----> Plants and CO2 (which is Carbon and Qxygen)
This is one of the things that I find so beautiful about tarot. Is how it allows you to just open your mind and see associations that you might not normally see.@@bonniek6039
This has been so helpful! I rarely pull Wands so it's not a suit I feel I understand very well and this has given me a lot to think about. Loved the Swords video, too.
I see the 4 as passing a threshold: acceptance into the guild, in your field. Recognition of peers (c.f. 6 which is higher accolades, maybe fame). 4 is ‘you’re in the club, you’re taken seriously.’ I see it as the peak of the Wands journey, where you’re still excited and learning and growing, still active challenges ahead, not yet moving into defense mode.
4 of wands for me represents the harvest. Successful returns on your endeavor. You have accomplished a big win and are able to have more ease in your new endeavor. From what I know of it, it is not a minor or initial victory. It is the achievement of a major but temporary success. After a good harvest you have successfully prepared for the winter but you still have to prepare to sow next spring.
@@thefoolsjournal Thanks for the response. And thanks for this course. It is logical, accurate and well put-together. The best I have found on youtube.
Love these videos about suits! Triangle is precisely associated with #3, can be balance between past, present and future. Three is also a symbol for Fire in alchemy. I can also see the invisible triangle formed by tips of three wands in Waite deck, and, depending on visual perspective, we can debate if it is equilateral or not and what it could mean for this card. Anyways, super interesting video! Thank you!
Tom, I am loving your videos!! You give me so much to think about, info that makes me go, OMG, YES, that makes perfect sense, yet I hadn't thought of it...lol...I am so happy to have stumbled over them...thank you so much, I look forward to more, so please don't disappear on me :)!
+ChrisAnn Simone Thanks!! That means a lot to me!! ;-) I'm always so thrilled when folks enjoy these. Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see!!! Happy new year!!
I kept reading the 3 of wands as the clarified vision of, or the conceptualization finally crystallizing into a recognizable form so that you have solid ground to build from. Just in reference to your triangulation idea.
I'm a Leo lady who has been feeling very 'meh' and lacking in wandsy energy. Listening to you talk about burnout and also sustaining the fuel has really helped me figure out what I might need to do in order to get the spark back. Thank you.
Learning Tarot. I think the "Portal" like vibe in the Three of wands means like stepping through the doorway. Two of wands is like thinking about taking the opportunity and three is taking that leap. Thank you for this video!!! I am really liking your channel and videos on this stuff!!
Great Tom. Simple, to the point and you complete the missing to otjers. I'm first on the list for your book. Really. And I would like also to see your personal vision of a Tarot deck. Your videos are my favorite. Good luck!
Tom Benjamin Indeed it did! I love the way you describe the cards👍Enjoy your Lenormand. I really like it, but I have more experience with the Tarot. It's a totally different system, very much to the point! Looking forward to your Pentacles walk thru😊
Tom Benjamin I just use small spreads, pull 3 to 5 cards for a quick answer to something. I kind of read them like a sentence. Now and again I use in conjunction with the Tarot. I'm more of a dabbler with them to be honest. Grand Tableau is too advanced for my skills with them, lol! Maybe one day. Love reading & learning more about them though☺️
When I first began to learn lenormand I thought of it as a spiritual morse-code or one of those games on the back of cereal boxes way back in the day. That really helped me quite a bit. When I took the information in that perspective, it was smooth as butter..... Hope that helps
Loves you videos Tom. Could you do us a favor and create a playlist put some of your tarot teaching in an order that would make sense for a beginner? Also do you teach?
Hey there! Thanks for that, that means so much to me! Really, really! I can absolutely create a playlist. I will work on that. I've been thinking about teaching, but life gets in the way. I am working on a book, though, which will be self-published that is kind of what I would do as a class if I had the time to make that happen. Very close to finishing the first draft, so I'm hoping to have it out by the holidays. :-)
I hate going to get the mail because it's just going to be how many other things added to the to do list... Idk... This just reminded me of the ten of wands all of a sudden.
4 of wands can be a place where, if you aren't careful you might drop the ball by over or under reacting-- like you might get that feel good feeling of the early success that might make you want to stay in that comfortable place and not move forward, or "rest on your laurels"... Never getting past that one success (like all Bundy milking that one game for tbr rest of his life)... Or on the other hand when you are fishing and you get that first nibble, if you pull *too* hard the fish will run off. 4 of wands requires a certain subtlely. Don't get too excited, don't scare off your good ideas or your investors or whatever.
I'm kind of bad at dropping the ball at the 4 of wands stage. That 3 tension isnt there anymore pushing you forward. Its kind of a lazy spot or comfort zone, easy to get stuck in... Gumdrop forest. I made my first sale of an article (probably 20 bucks) and it was published but I didn't return the paperwork to get paid. I'm really terrible at follow through, so I think the four (for me)/is like a warning. Just because someone recognized your hard work/skill/talent/whatever doesn't mean stop giving your all. Sit down for a minute but don't forget to stand back up. Don't get **too comfortable**
It’s the harvest after an endeavor. You have successfully prepared for winter but you still have to sow next spring. Or you have a beautiful wedding with the person of your dreams but you still have to maintain a good marriage. A major but temporary success where further effort will be required.
Love "Much ado..." (anything Kenneth Branagh for that matter) and "Little Britain". Well, "Little..." can be a bit much for me in places though. Do you know "Black Books" and wonderfully terrible Bernard (or Bern :-) ? Great series you've done here by the way. So many paths and aspects of the cards - not just one definition.
Yes!!! I feel the same about the wands in most decks. They are generally portrayed in such a non fire-y way. It doesnt connect. I love when they are portrayed as candles and such.
That's a good question... Andy Warhol... I think I see him more as a Knight of Wands, mostly because he couldn't sit still. But he did nurture the outsiders, and that's VERY QofW!
Come on man you are introducing gender politics into tarot now!? Lol Anima/ animus, yin and yang.. it’s unavoidable and realistic to have masculine and feminine in tarot
I love how this series subtly shows your own growth over the years through tarot. Thank you so much for the time you dedicated to this

I might just do this!!! Thanks!!! ♥️
Seriously the best explanation, and I have watched quite a few ;) thank you

What a wonderful video! I struggle with the suit of wands, but you have provided a path to reasonable understanding.

Thank you SO much for this video, Tom. Really informative and entertaining. You’re a star ⭐️

3 of Wands = triangle of manifestation. Also a pyramid, which means pyre (fire) mid (in the middle). Creation.
Great video !!!!! Thank you !!!
Your voice is so comforting/soothing. I feel like it reminds me of someone but I'm not sure who.
Awwwe, thank you!!!
I'm glad you were able to check out the book. Great Video thank you
+Coco C I do. It's heady stuff. I'm taking it slowly. It's so intense.

Yay! Can't wait to watch this in awhile! Have been waiting for it, lol!!😂

In charmed, there was a "power of one" spell which was all about how the three, together, were "one" and stronger ("stronger together").

+Pisces On Fire Tarot that's awesome! Thanks so much!
"Fire is needy" good point.
Right?? Hahaha. I feel it so much.
Love the Wands in the Mermaid Tarot by Leeza Robertson.

He has a book!!
9 of wands will now be known to me as the "hell and back" card. Love it.
🤣
10 of wands to me is "having it all." It's like once you've got it all... You've got it all to take care of. Like you said, everything has a cost.
I hate going to get the mail because it's just going to be how many other things added to the to do list... Idk... This just reminded me of the ten of wands all of a sudden.
Ahhh yes!!!
I always think, the plus side is that you've got it all! The downside is you've got it all! Lol
you bought me with All About Eve!
Margo Channing, yes
If you did end up making those videos you mentioned that you would make in this video can you link them in the description I would enjoy those too :)

Upper left is the Raven’s Prophesy; top right is the Ellis Decl.

Gender politics is part of everything.
Justin Parker gender is important, there are two genders that are complementary. I hate the trend in tarot of de-sexualizing the cards.
